I don't have much to add on my profile right now, so instead I will use this writing space as a way to answer questions I've recieved in pm or reviews about my story Overcoming the Odds, featuring the (((greatest))) couple that never happened

Q1: Why is Karin placed in solitary confinement?

The warden of the prison plans on what cell a criminal will take, and seeing as Karin is a subordinate to Orochimaru, he placed her away from everyone else and made it much harder for her to do things such as potentially escape or be in cahoots with other prisoners.

Q2: 40 YEARS???

Loads of people did pm me about this, and all I've gotta say is that you need to stick around long enough to know where I'm gonna go with the story. Do so, and the ending will be worth it, a neet's promise to you.

As for justifying the judge's sentencing... He is a bitter old man, need I say more? I based him off of how the Konoha council is: strict.

Q3: What is this 'feeling' Naruto felt at the beginning? Kyuubi banging against his cell? WAT

Q4: Karin's feelings result from stockholm syndrome?

Nope, and neither was that my intention. It's more of an element of them getting to know each other with each visit for why they end up liking each other: talking, spending time together, and ultimately growing a bond as a result of their newfound friendship. They like each other based on their shared experiences and the bond they formed, as well as their quirks and flaws. Yes I put in there that she was clingy and needed to depend on someone, but that's just what was displayed when she was chasing after Sasuke, and should be taken as one of her flaws.

They fall for each other due to their close friendship that is exclusive to them, and they've never had anything like it before.

Q5: "Karin ooc"

Yeah, ok I know she acts different in the anime/manga, but I made her to be more tolerable and tame since I reasoned that the heartbreak, 6 months in solitary confinement, and interacting with Naruto would change her a little. So there was some thinking behind it, hopefully that makes it more understandable.

Q6: When are you gonna update the story? You're killing us, crimson :(

Good question.

If you made it this far then congrats I guess. I might as well do something else, so I'll explain why I like the idea of Naruto and Karin being together so much.

For one, they're in the same clan. Them being together would partly revive some remnants of their clan and bring more uzumaki babies into the world.

Getting away from the clan stuff, they share a similar history of them both having messed up childhoods. They're both orphans and could relate to or understand each other because they were both mistreated as youngsters.

Another thing if they got together would be their striking resemblance to Naruto's parents. Karin has Kushina's red hair and Naruto has Minato's blonde hair. It would also sort of fit with Kushina's wish for Naruto to find a girl like her, since Karin and Kushina share (some) similarities. To put it short, they would have paid a nice homage to Naruto's parents.

Alright the last reason pretty weak, but what else can I go off of? Kishimoto never even let the two get to know each other, which I find to be dumb because they would have been a funny and interesting duo when interacting. Also I don't get why people see this pairing as taboo and say that Naruto and Karin are cousins. Kishimoto never validated that they are closely related and even if they are from the same clan it would be like the hyuuga clan, because they marry and have kids inside their own family and you don't see them getting shamed for doing that shit, AND their offspring come out perfectly fine. Even IF Karin and Naruto were somehow cousins, they and their babies would come out perfectly healthy because kushina and Karin's parents most likely aren't closely related, considering they came from uzushiogakure and that place was filled with uzumaki. The chances of them being related and from the same branch are small. Also kushina and karin both having chakra chains does not mean they're closly related, it's just another ability that uzumakis can have, like healing capabilities and large chakra reserves.

Still here? Well here's a fun fact for if you read my story: Remember the dream Karin had before the hearing? Kyuubi's chakra was transferred to her via the numerous 'embraces' she had and he was absolutely the cause for it.
