Hi, I'm Nova/Merric! Gay in a scarf and I draw more than I write, actually (hint), but ultimately could never bring myself to stop doing either. Have a fantastic day.
Uploads go to AO3 first because editing is easier over there than it is here. God.

Plot bunnies, if they're still called that (bolded priority, no particular order, est. ca. 2017):
Crackfic sequel. Looks like a set of drabbles; shrug. - Grumble Volcano oneshot; romance/humour/psychological? (trust me).
- Space and Time side story and sequel (all three comprise the prospective Lien Saga trilogy). I need to fulfill the dreams of 15yo me! Working on the final chapters of Illuminate.
- Complicated rewrite. Things that I said I would do and never did.
- Gaiden/Echoes: the fall and rise of Mae and Boey. Based on a true story (5th Gaiden playthrough, iron man, oh dear). Probably romantic but we just don't know. DONE!
- Hainish Cycle-inspired SSB oneshot, probably starring Samus. Angst about time travel.
- the new world: Roy misses his friends during the events of World of Light. Vent!fic. Complete!
Spacetime compliant/Smash mansion-adjacent romance. In drafts indefinitely. - Binding Blade near-endgame friendship/romance, manga compliant (ugh). Done!
- Aftermath of #8 above. Friendship/romance/angst? It's a secret, but not really, but it kinda is? More likely to be published than #8 itself because (spoilers).
Origins: fics and authors that kick-started my foray into writing:
Among the Ashes
The Game
Fate
Tune4Toons
any published author I read before the age of 13 tbh
I'm procrastinating bored. Here's a shortlist of my faves, from my faves, as I go through them again:
- Yes, sir!: Star Fox. A fantastic monologue; thrillingly experimental.
- Jeff Eats A Plate Of Pasta And Gets Sauce All Over His Favorite Shirt: EarthBound. Sweet, sweet crack.
- The Eulogy and the Unsung Hero: SSB. Amazing. Marth and the author continue to evade us.
- Star Fox Roasting Over An Open Fire: Star Fox. The quintessential SF Christmas story.
- The Empty Room: SSB. Cool concept within the author's continuity and some fantastic, experimental passages.
- The Stranger I Knew: Cave Story. The supporting cast is very strong, too
- Monster: SSB. A lovely, twisted little fantasy, barring some odd dynamics.
- What Was Owed: EarthBound. The ultimate post-game fluff!
- And Then She Broke: Golden Sun. Short but gut-wrenching.
- Fire Emblem: Gaiden: Off to a strong start but now kind of redundant. This one was important to me in the pre-Echoes days!
- This Game Called Life: EarthBound, crossover AU. Becomes something far greater than its opening chapters suggest.
- The Prince of Light and the Mouse who made Light: SSB. Charming and chilling, it's like a dream that's gone on a little too long. I have a soft spot for this one. Protag combo holds personal significance.
- Of Ones and Zeroes: SSB. Love the atmosphere. Perhaps I'm reading into this too much
- Starfox: Sunrise Over Lylat: Star Fox. A veritable sci-fi epic. This could be a published novel I swear.
- The Game: SSB. Not strictly a favourite of mine anymore but it is such a shining celebration of adolescence that I can't not recommend it. Brawl era classic (if you can get past the het).
- Colisseum: SSB. This one is purely personal taste but it's an excellent AU piece regardless (read: I fell in love with this depiction of Roy lmao).
- The Boy Behind the Hands: SSB. Not strictly a fave but I have a soft spot for it. Please give it a read!
