![]() Author has written 12 stories for Super Smash Brothers, Journey, and Labyrinth. Welcome. I am TheWordMasterofFiction, but most people tend to just call me Mafi for short. Back when I was in high school, in the early to mid 2010s, I started writing fanfics and made many lasting friendships on this site. While I am much, much less active than in previous years, my works are still available to be read here and on AO3. ABOUT MYSELF: Name: Mafi, or Hannah. Either will work for me. Age: As of 2020, I'm 24! Avatar: Some artwork created with the website/app Silk. Very useful for creating profile pictures on the fly. Favorite Books: I'm currently working on my masters degree, specializing in ancient and medieval literature, so lately I've been reading many books that fall into that category. I'm very interested in the Mabinogion and the Táin (Welsh and Irish mythos/epics/legends, respectively), with those two texts shaping some creative works of mine as of late. Off the top of my head however, Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archives series has been my favorites for nearly a decade, and shaped much of my writing since I first read them. Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut and The Power of the Dog by Don Winslow are also personal favorites. Other Stuff: I use this Twitter account for general updates, writing talk, and a general discussion on fandom. I also have this Facebook account for longer updates and more of a delve into my musings while writing. Current Update (June 2020): Not only is chapter eight of Unearthed out, but I also published an entry for the LFFL anniversary contest! It’s called Tea for Two, and focuses on a favorite character of mine. Feels nice to write something sweet with all the anxiety in the world right now. Here’s hoping readers and voters like it as much as I do! :) Over the years I've been on FF, I've been lucky enough to foster long-lasting friendships with fellow authors I've met on here. Almost a decade later, I recommend them not only as great friends, but as great writers as well. Loke Groundrunner: The man, the myth, the legend; the Andy Kaufman of Fanfiction.net. Loke was the very first author I met on this site, through the strangest turn of events. His works never fail to make me laugh, as they are both oddly profound and oddly...odd. He is my oldest friend and the only other Black Keys fan on the face of the earth. Tune4Toons: If Tune had replied an hour earlier, she would have been the first person I ever talked to on here. Her writing is complex and wonderful, and she has cemented herself as a major auteur within the SSB community. She's also an amazing artist! Archduke Langus: In a strange twist of fate, Langus and I realized we lived only a half hour apart from one another. Years later, I ended up going to graduate school at his undergraduate university, and he now is the DM for a group of Rancho folks who play DnD together. My boyfriend and I usually end up making him copious amounts of food in order to keep our characters alive for each session. So far it has worked. StarshipArtisian: The one and only Artihip, from the Great White North. As a fellow masters student we've had many conversations over the years on the ridiculous things our students have submitted, and I consider her one of my oldest friends. She also helped get my poor boyfriend addicted to Fire Emblem Three Houses, so I guess I have that to thank her for too. LadyPaprika: Wondrous human being, a lawyer who I wish I could talk to more often. She never fails to make me laugh. We also share the same feelings over Labyrinth, which is always exciting. Hylian-Nerd: My oldest friend, whom I brought onto this site to introduce to the others on here, and the rest is history. While they never wrote fanfics on the site, they did leave an impact over on the Rancho forums. Hopefully I'll see them again soon, given that we live on opposite sides of the U.S. now. To Kyle, my inspiration, my rock, my hope and joy (who I hope will never have to read the weird things I wrote as a teenager): Gi melin. |
