To ensure the Yamanaka Clan is further protected, they strike a deal with the daimyo clan of the Uchiha. Ino is chosen to marry one of the Uchiha, but she elopes with her lover the night before she is supposed to be wedded. Inoichi decides against calling off the deal to save face and demands Deidara, her twin brother, to take her place.

Obito's idle dream of Deidara doing the Sexy Technique (Sexy no Jutsu) comes true. Nothing can go wrong after that, right?

It is hard to say how they got there, but the only thing Obito knows is that Deidara's body is hot against his. He presses Deidara to the wall, one hand pressed against his mouth and another against his breast.

Deidara thinks he's going to spend the rest of his life in black and white. He doesn't think he's going to live long, after all. He is not jealous that Sasori can see in color and he doesn't have time to seek out the person that will grant him colored vision. Turns out, he doesn't need to go looking.

Tobi decides to celebrate Deidara's birthday with traditions from Iwagakure.

Deidara isn't used to wanting to commit to something long-term, but he also wants to give it his all since life is short.

The village they are visiting is celebrating their annual fireworks festival. Since they're here, they might as well participate.

Obito has always been content with being just another alpha in the Akatsuki and he has come to understand that his work partner, Deidara, is a beta. Nothing about that was supposed to change. Until it did.

An unnamed narrator sits at the café and observes a couple.

Snow days are great when you were a kid and not so much when you are an adult. Right?

Of all the ways for the group to find out, this was probably the worst.

After heroically completing a mission given to them by the Hokage, the Akatsuki are given a free-of-charge day out at the village hidden in the leaves. That is the first time Obito and Deidara meet.

"I think you two make a really good couple," Kakashi says.

Neither of them believes that they would have a soulmate. Even if they did, neither of them would believe that their soulmate would be each other.

The date doesn't go as well as he wants it to go, but he's fine with it anyway.

A gentle chime rings through the station and the train comes rushing in.

It is a bright and sunny day. Birds are chirping and there are no clouds to be seen. It's time to try again.

Rain. It's been raining for a week now.

Tobi saves Deidara from a group of rogue ninja. Deidara is not happy about it.

Obito sees a store with familiar things from home. Inexplicably, he finds himself asking for a guide.

Obito isn't one for art, but maybe he can learn.

Sometimes, Obito thinks his life is a dream. He thinks that one day he would wake up and he would find that none of this had happened after all.

Obito didn't think he could get sick. He's wrong.

Deidara-senpai wanted to take a closer look at the kid who got his ass kicked by Sasori. Tobi couldn't refuse, but perhaps he should have.

Late Saturday night, early Sunday morning. Depends on who you're talking to. Well, depends on who you decide to end up talking to.

Tobi and Deidara, in a stroke of bad luck, gets captured and sent to Konoha's prison.

An amusement park. Obito hasn't been to one of these for a long time. He should make it worth the while.

Obito's younger art tutor has a mind of his own and isn't afraid to speak it.

They rarely have time for themselves. Between preparing for the next steps of his plan and reporting to Pain whenever he can on the new developments, he has to entertain Deidara on the idea that he can fight Itachi — on top of that, this whole relationship thing really isn't helping with the way the scale is tipping.

When Obito suggested lingerie, he didn't think that Deidara would take it seriously.

Tobi and Deidara get into a fight again. This time, it gets physical. Too physical.

Deidara-senpai is the best artist Tobi has ever met - he has met a total of two artists - and Deidara needs to know it.

"Come on," Obito says in a quiet voice.

For their anniversary, Deidara prepared something special for the two of them to do.

If your boyfriend is a police officer, it might not be a good idea to bring weed to his apartment. Or, it might be the best idea ever. (Warning: story involves recreational drug use and weed.)

They talk about their childhood.

"Beautiful," Obito murmurs into Deidara's ear.

Obito gets a wrong number text. This is just too much.

Obito thinks that Deidara is a fool. A big and utter fool.

In which Obito and Deidara have a faux-fight over food.

There is no shame in begging for what you want.

A police officer meets the local graffiti artist.

Obito rests next to Deidara, tiredly watching his partner. He raises a hand and rests it on his cheek, stroking the soft skin before murmuring, "More?"

They couldn't ask for a better day.

When Obito decides to take care of the little runaway who insists upon it, he didn't think it would become such a big deal.

"I want to know what it feels like to care about something so passionately."

Iwagakure wishes to amend for their previous actions. They start with Konohagakure and Team Minato is assigned for the task. While there, Obito meets someone particularly interesting. (AU where they're not evil and they meet as Konoha and Iwa ninjas for a peace treaty.)

Obito always wakes up before Deidara. He takes advantage of this time to just admire.

He gets into a little bit of a trouble and he thinks that Deidara should be officially the worst partner ever. Being late isn't cool if someone is getting hurt.

Asking Deidara out took a lot out of him, so Obito decides to take him to a carnival for their third date.

Obito's never been fond of his own scars but Deidara can't seem to take his hands off of them.

Out of all the elevators in the Uchiha Tower, he just had to pick the one that is faulty.

Obito wakes Deidara up with one thing on his mind - it backfires on him.

It's very dangerous to multitask in the middle of a battle. Extremely so.

If Deidara wanted to eat some candy, then he should have bought his own.

Obito never thought he'd see his own face staring back at him - especially not after he put on the mask.

Deidara returns from having three missions back to back. Tobi goes and takes care of him.

Deidara offers to continue the events of last night, but without liquid courage, it's hard to keep his nerves at bay.

Deidara pushes through the bush and finds him sitting alone on a rock. Instead of sending him away to regroup, Obito allows him to stay, peering at him until there is no turning back.

As is tradition, Tobi goes to ask Deidara if he wants to join him for lunch. He finds him sulking by a stream.

Obito finds Deidara rummaging through his underwear pile.

Deidara never eats out, so he is still in disbelief as he waits outside of the western restaurant – a western restaurant! It has to be one of his least favorite – with Sasori. When he heads inside, however, someone catches his eye. It has to be his luck that the same someone would be his waiter for tonight.

A soft gentle glow fills the room, illuminating a corner of the world that never would have thought it would see the light. A warmth washes over him, cloaking him like a blanket of woven sunlight as he slowly stirs from his rest. Not from the light, but by insistent yet gentle kisses pressing against his right cheek.

He looks so peaceful when he sleeps, resting like there's nothing in the world that could disturb him. Obito wants to cherish this forever, but when another chirp of a nearby bird sounds, he suddenly remembers.

Deidara finds out Tobi is an Uchiha. [Now contains explicit content.]

Deidara realizes he's in love with Tobi.

Obito doesn't like the way this conversation pierces through him and he is forced to admit feelings that he didn't even know he felt.
