Author has written 4 stories for Alex Rider. Wanna asks where our updates are? Wanna ask how our updates are going? Wanna ask us about our day? Wanna tell us about your day? Find us on Twitter, Welcome_to_Storytime, @wtst_jean_diana :) Introductions, we are identical twins from Narnia, Middle Earth, New Zealand. We are both avid readers, between the two of us we could get through over fifty books a year, well used to. Since leaving school, books have been put on the shelf (unwillingly). The names we go by are deviations of our real names, that's a internet safety thing. We were born in 1995 and have graduated High School. Diana is working and Jean is doing a University degree in Early Childhood. We are writing our own original story as well as Fanfiction, the story is Jean's but Diana has been doing setting design (Former Geography Student). We've read some books where stories on Fanfiction were better yet somehow the author managed to get it published, so after some of your reviews, we have high hopes, sorta. We don't do sappy, we try to make our characters as well rounded as possible but we are not romantics, in fact we would go as far as saying we are not emotionally driven most of the time. Which is good in some situations but stunts us in writing more emotional scenes. Our stories have the ongoing theme of Family, or Family Dynamics. Romance is background or suggested if featured at all. We have the belief that teenagers have this need to validate themselves by being in a relationship, no matter how short lived. We make our characters rounded with self validation and self worth and like to build lasting, healthy relationships, not necessarily (it took us far too long to spell that word) romantic. Sorry for getting serious, some things younger siblings learn from the older and elder are better than any self made life lessons. Feel free to read through and secretly judge, we all do it. And because we can't sign off a letter to save ourselves, Here Endth this Note Stories we are writing. #Jam Transit Hyems, Translates to Now the Winter is passing, Post-Scorpia Rising, 'bout a year and a half has passed since then. #Birthday Wishes, JTH universe. Pre JTH but can be a standalone #Alphabetical: Truths About Alex, Drabbles in Alphabetical order, our personal cure for writers block, personal headcannons Stories we have completed (short list) #Of Curiosity and Barrels, JTH universe, Post JTH but can be standalone. Our Rules of Writing. 1. No Mary Sues, for the love of all that's sane, every single one should be murdered very painfully. 2. The dead whose bodies were found, stay dead that means no Yassen, No Ian, No Ash etc. ( This is more of a guideline than a rule, it just makes things more simple, but we will go against it). Actually don't think we ever planned to follow this rule #JTH 3. No Slash! You know what we're talking about, those stories where the character is stripped of everything they are so they can paired with whoever to do whatever. Seriously, just NO! We're mentally disturbed enough as it is. 4. No Self Inserts! This has become very common and is now a pet peeve of ours. 5. We will name and shame, so don't Flame. (Or just laugh at it, we do that) Constructive criticism however, is welcomed. 6. "Speak proper England, like what I do", Grammar, Correct us when we are wrong. IF You Review, Please note this, Diana is most likely to be the one that reads them first and reply as our account is connected to her email. But reading off screens is difficult for her, so paragraph your reviews. Every four to six lines, or she can't follow it and will not read it through. If it's short, she'll try to read it but anything that is blocky and long is near impossible for her to follow. RIP those who lost their lives in the Canterbury Earthquake on 22/2/11 Roses are red the chalice is blue, The cathedral has fallen many buildings have too, You can rattle our bones, you can rip streets apart, But you will never defeat our red and black hearts, For we are cantabrians and together we know, ...We stand tall together, through anything we regrow. R.I.P Isaac Thompson, you left behind a massive crater, you will be and are very missed. when.. Geonet/ChristchurchQuakeMap is your homepage. The rest of the country offers you a place to stay. "Munted" and "buggered" are official technical terms. You go "pfffft" when Wellington has a 4.5 earthquake that's 40km deep. You see a nice park in another city and think it would make a good evacuation point. ( or stand in a supermarket praying there ain't another aftershock, death by falling nappies isn't how you want to be remembered). You sleep in one suburb, shower in another and collect water from yet another. When you drive on the right side of the road and no one thinks it's wrong. You are happy two Policemen came for a visit. When your bike becomes your best friend. You think it's fine for a soldier to be stationed at the end of your street. You see armoured vehicles driving down the road. It's normal to greet people with "Do you need a shower?". A bucket of shit is no longer that old car you drive. Every house is a crack house. Instead of rushing to the clothes line to get clothes in when it rains, you put dirty washing on the line in the hope that it will rain enough to clean them. Going to Wellington to escape earthquakes makes sense. Your doctor recommends having a few stiff drinks before going to bed to help you sleep. You know how to start and refuel a generator. You have tied the pantry, liquor cabinet and all the cupboard doors closed and it's not to keep the kids out. You prefer to sit under the table instead of at it. You think electronics that have "shock proof" should say to which earthquake magnitude. You know and actually understand the terms and conditions of your House and Contents insurance policies. You can see irony in claims about houses made of "Permanent Materials" Your en-suite has a vege garden, dog kennel and grass. Your teenagers are all to happy to sleep in the same room as their parents. You stop using the term "built like a brick shit house". Dressing up to "head into town" means putting on a hi-viz vest, hard hat and boots. Discussing toilet habits with total strangers is an everyday norm. Wee boys don't get excited when they see (another) digger or dozer- but all the adults on the street cheer wildly. Voluntarily staying in Timaru for five days seems like a good idea. You know what that extra gear lever on your 4X4 is for. Metservice includes a dust graph. You have a dust mask tan lines. You can use the term "liquefaction" in everyday casual conversation, even your three year old can. When a massive group of students appears in your street, you are overwhelmed with gratitude..instead of calling the Police. What's more, the students leave the street in better condition than when they arrived. The answer to where anything is...it's on the floor. (An old NZ tv commercial from when we were little, you had to be there) You smile at strangers and greet people like you're one big family. "I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - Martin Luther King Jr "When the doorbell rings at 3 in the morning it's never good news" The first time I read this sentence I did not expect to be so overwhelmed by the 9 book journey that followed. I must admit I'm scared to read the final book just yet, I don't want the journey to end. It's more than a book now, it's a part of my life, they're not just characters, they're are my family, these books are a part of me and reading them I can so easily be apart of them. I am too positive to be doubtful.Too optimistic to be fearful. And too determined to be DEFEATED.God give me serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference. Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forgive the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance take it, if it changes your life let it. Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised that it would be worth it. Dear mother nature, we’ve had enough It’s been sixteen months of ‘doing it tough’ A year and a half of life in a uncertainty and tears A city of people now bound in their fears Our nerves are raw and our tempers in tatters ... As daily we endure the loss of things that really matter Wondering what each day will take in its wake We will still have power, water or stores if there’s another quake? It’s so hard for every parent to endure the sight Of their little ones so scared, so bound up in fright You try to re-assure them, to soothe and calm To wrap them in your arms to save them from harm As the roar of a quake rips through the air Glass and ornaments being thrown everywhere The very earth beneath you violently surging and lurching Their fear is alive, their cries are heart wrenching Our older generation has never before Been so afraid of what the future holds in store ‘Why don’t they leave’? outsiders ask Leave for where?, pack up your whole life? To big a task Is it possible to leave everything that has meaning in your heart? To make new memories, to begin again from the start? The reality is for some, there’s no choice left to make Their houses have gone, all that’s left is heartbreak. The resolve of the strongest is beginning to crumble As we watch our loved city continue to tumble The holes in the roads get bigger the patches not holding The wrecking ball swings and buildings keep folding Whole streets are abandoned the grass growing tall The cliffs at the beach continue to fall So why are we still here, refusing to live in pity Because we know Christchurch will once again be a great city...
