No, no, no, just no. You can't read this and honestly say you haven't cried. It reminds me of Kagerou Daze, which involves loops and unavoidable deaths, like in this story.

This is easily one of my most favorite stories so far, I remember way back when I tried to read this one when I had way less patience, and quit halfway through the second chapter, now I regret having not read it sooner, I absolutely loved it, and while I'm sad you won't be continuing, I can understand, (even if this is a little late, 1 year later lol) this story is on my top 10 list, up there with "Call of the Night" "I Hear Him Scream" "The Boy Behind the Mask" and "Nightwalkers"

by emotional guessing . Those were touching wise thoughts. Even if he can't be understood in the moment he had seen the severity of the situation and in the wartime he forgave. Explaining why he is forgiving soothing the burden of the blame .He soothed in the best way he could.
Because he couldn't perfectly communicate yet he had done the second best thing with the emotions and the language body and soothing like
calming cat and parent it's young .

After finally being able to give this a look ( I only took two months to do so, considering fanfiction says the last update was on October 27th, 2016) I must say it is very sad that you did not manage to complete this story. The ideas you had were amazing, and the story could easily have had 50 chapters. I don't personally agree with you giving up on the story (although I understand why. I had the same thought, more than once, regarding my stories), but I'm glad that you both had lined up all of it, and decided to show us it. I hope you're doing well, and that maybe, just maybe, we'll see you again. You're a great writer, and I'm fairly sure that you will be missed by the HTTYD fanfiction community. Maybe one day I'll try to write based on your notes, though i'll likely fail. Your work is far superior to mine, and, honestly, far superior to many I have seen. I guess this is a farewell (even though we never spoke to each other).

PS: I think that whatever stories you wanted to recommend to us were erased when you put this chapter up, because after your phrase there are no titles, just one of your ANs)

Hey friend, I just wanted to leave you a nice review about your story. I found your story after you posted the last two update chapters not realizing that you weren't planning on finishing it (I'm also a university student, I completely understand), so I really appreciate you posting what your plans were for the rest of the story so I could get some closure.

Next, I adore the world that you created for the characters. I feel like lots of people half-ass the worlds they build for their characters or simply gloss over seemingly unnecessary details of the story like mundane, "filler" days, or how a character deliberates over their individual actions. I really appreciate how you included more of these details because I was able to engross myself in the world. Your world also seemed more real with its depiction of scenery and death of major characters.

I also love the connection that you built up between Hiccup and Toothless. I hate it when writers throw in characters developing deep connections with one another without explaining where those connections came from. It's lazy writing and I'm so so so glad your story didn't suffer from that. Your story has basically made my new standard for writing platonic soulmate connections, so thank you.

My only confusion is about a couple sections in the earlier chapters of the story where Hiccup and Toothless are in a different cycle. I'm curious to why you included these section(s) without any explanation of what timeline they were in as I had a hard time figuring it out and the sections just seemed misplaced and unnecessary in their locations. Having read your last author's note I understand more, but they still seem a bit misplaced.

Even though you didn't go forward with it I really liked your idea that Hiccup had been in these cycles for a while trying to find a way to save Toothless.

I also like your idea for the 5th cycle where Hiccup talks with the god and they talk about how dreams aren't always what you wish for. Even though this wasn't a fully formed chapter it really hit me as one of the main themes of the story.

Lastly, I really like that you planned on reuniting Hiccup and Toothless in the end. I think my heart would've been crushed if you hadn't done that. Those boys are meant to be together, they're two halves of a whole.

That's all I really have to say except for another thank you. You've made my past few weeks of fanfiction reading fantastic. How To Train Your Dragon is my favorite movie and this story made me love it even more. Good luck with university, I know I'm going to need it.

P.S. I not so creepily read through your profile and saw you like Lord of the Rings. I am currently 2/3 of the way through The Fellowship of the Ring and am having a hard time finishing it because I find the writing and world building boring. Any recommendations for finishing it?
