This fanfic was so amazing and a great joy to read! It's everything that I wish would have happened! I smiled so widely with how happy Mordred was when Camelot was finally going to make magic legal again. That is something that I wish we had gotten to see in the series and I'm sure that it was something that we were all waiting for, but sadly, they took the direction of tragedy. It also would've been nice to see Mordred and Merlin become friends in the series. I love the both of them so much. So what you wrote was very heartwarming and I love it.

Okay so this is like the best fanfiction that I have ever read, I love it SO much. It was so touching and remarkable and it hurt a little bit on the inside. It is everything that I wanted in my life. I also hate you so much for leaving it at that, because while it may be a perfect way to end the story, it made me want so much more. Bless you child

Oh my gosh, this is fantastic and amazing and I love it so much! There needs to be more Good!Mordred story's and this is one of the best! I have so many problems with Season 5 and how Merlin dealt with Mordred and the Disir, I'm not even going to start, but I do think that this fic is the amazing rewrite I've been searching for. Thank you!

I love what you've done; you've made Morded a fully three-dimensional character with emotional conflict & yet also consistency with who & what he is & knows, not someone who flip-flops when the writers need them to.
I agree that they ruined some fantastic characters (like Mordred- I'm also a huge Morgana/ ArMor fan), & I think also, that they left plot-holes as big as the Pacific Ocean- there were a lot of things over the series that didn't make sense to me (when Status Quo wasn't God, we even managed to get insight into Arthur, & there were some moments where he wasn't quite as oblivious as the running gag that the writers beat us to death with)- it feels like they lost their balls & decided to take a largely cliche route, because it was somehow easier.
I like that you gave Mordred some much-needed depth- I liked him a lot, for a while & Asa & Alex played him marvelously well & with great nuances.

this was a really excellent revision of that episode 'the disir'. i kind of wish you'd included the first scene in the cave, where evidently merlin is injured instead of mordred. that does change things...
i also thought merlin ought to have told mordred the truth. something i think mordred deserves to know, his fate and that merlin believes it can be changed. merlin working by himself and keeping things from people didn't have a very good success rate, after all... merlin and mordred on the same side, mordred on his guard for anything that might turn him against the loyalty he'd sworn to arthur - at any rate, it couldn't get /worse/.
then again. i sometimes compare mordred and merlin, they have a lot of similarities - but a lot of differences, too. maybe merlin chose to protect mordred and/or morgana from the pressure of knowing their own destiny, the way he knew his. hard enough to know it when it's supposed to be a good thing - even worse when you're destined for /evil/, maybe...
but i fully believe that their fates were their own choices, no matter what prophecy or the dragon said...

Hey Arsaem, what a brilliant variation of Season 5. So much better than the original! I agree with you that Merlin was very OOC when it came to Mordred. I always felt if he had taken the young Druid under his wing then the story would have ended very differently.
Nice twist with Merlin dying instead of Mordred. Love how Arthur put 2 and 2 together and FINALLY got 4! Took him a while.
Must ask, is there to be more? Just that you have said it is a one shot but have not marked as complete.
Personally, I am hoping for more.
