Where To Start:

My foundational story is A Transformation in Five Acts. I believe in it just as strongly as I believe the 'real' stories in the cartoons and comic books. So the plots of other things I write will more often than not have that world as their jumping-off-point. Entr'Acte is the most important supporting story, and I consider it part of the main arc. Evolution is the first sequel novella, and I'll be posting the third major novel in the saga, Changing My Name, And Other Mistakes over the next month or so. I've begun working on a fourth and final story, which you'll see in... who knows. At least a year. I write slowly, but with great care.

What I Write:

I'd say that I love my stories like children; but it's more than that. By the time I've finished laboring, angsting, and wrestling with them enough to feel ready to send them out into the world, a large portion of my soul has been transferred into them. It's sort of terrifying to realize just how much a person can learn about me through reading the stuff I've written. Heck, it's been a major head-trip just realizing what I've learned about myself in writing them. So yeah -- I really hope that you'll like them too. I present them here to you, in the same tense spirit that I'd feel if I were stepping up to reveal my dearest, darkest, most beautiful dreams on stage.

The most interesting thing for me to read is interpersonal relationships. I tend to skip over the punchin' and the fightin', and look for the moments of profound personal change. But you won't find porn in the things I write. Occasionally I wonder if I should write it. But when my head clears, I always find that there's always a better way to convey the same things -- without having to get sticky with it. I may not always hold to my standards when reading, but I'll stick to them in my writing.

I think I would explode if I didn't get these stories told -- the wacky drabbles just for fun, and the impossible, beloved epic with its accompanying satellites. Writing them, creating them as skillfully and as honestly as I am able, lets me believe in their possibility, somehow. And I desperately want these things to be real... even if only as words on a page. 'Cause let's be honest -- these guys only exist in our collective imaginations. I love and argue with the giant robots in my mind as fiercely as I do real people, for better or for worse. But oh, it is fun!
