![]() Author has written 57 stories for Forgotten Realms, Naruto, and Transformers/Beast Wars. THANK YOU I often don't have time to thank via PM readers for their reviews and faves, so I'd like to say publicly: thank you, each and every one, for your reviews and faves! I always stop to read the reviews and see what stories have been faved. When I post fanfic, I do it so I can entertain readers, so they can escape for awhile, and so they can enjoy reading more about the characters they love. When I find out I've succeeded in doing that, it always makes my day. I want you guys to know that. UPDATES (April 3, 2016) Well, that time has come: the time at which I will no longer be writing much fanfic. I'm in the process of querying agents for my original novel, which is planned to be the first in a series. When I get representation (I say "when" and not "if" because of the power of positive thinking), I will be committing myself to generating my own fantasy world for others to escape to and play in. As a result, I have very little time for fanfic now, especially since I also work a full-time job. However, when and if the mood strikes me, I'll return with short pieces here and there. That said, I'll keep reading all my reviews and looking over the faves I get. Thank you to everyone who has supported me for all these years! About "Darkest Hour": I have deleted my 2007 gender-bending dark!crack fic about Entreri with his gender-changing girdle and Jarlaxle running awry with The Reaper. While I liked the gender criticism I put in it and I was aiming for a romance, the story tanked. I can't make it work. But for those who asked, the original "Darkest Hour" is here. CREDITS Most of my book cover images were either drawn by me or drawn by Chi and colored by me. However, I have a few exceptions: The colored Artemis and Jarlaxle pic is by Skorpi of Deviant Art and can be found here. The black & white Artemis and Jarlaxle pic is by Mizzcoffeebot of Deviant Art and can be found here. The colored pictures of Artemis alone are by Yoski of Deviant Art and can be found here and here. NOTES ON MY SERIES AND FANDOMS Forgotten Realms: "The Continuing Adventures of Artemis Entreri and Jarlaxle" The series picks up after Servant of the Shard--or, to be more precise, it picks up after the short story "Empty Joys." All character development and character projection therefore have been extrapolated from SotS. Important Note: I based my series of fanfics on “The Third Level,” a short story RAS wrote back in 1993, and I will not change my fanfics in light of the continuity errors in RotP. (0.) "Masquerade of Monsters" is the prequel to The Road to Redemption trilogy and to the series in general. 1-3. The Road to Redemption trilogy includes "Progression of a Killer," "The Mask of a Hero," and "The Face of a God." The story explores Entreri's and Jarlaxle's tentative friendship and Entreri's hatred of heroes and priests. Dark themes are present, including allusions to rape and childhood sexual abuse. 4-6. The Descent into Darkness trilogy includes "The Specters of Our Pasts," "The Gathering Storm," and "The Sacrifice for Salvation." This trilogy focuses on issues of rape, PTSD, healing, and friendship. 7-9. The Power of Prophecy trilogy includes "Premonition," "Simulacrum," and "Revelation." I am focusing on the Entreri-Jarlaxle friendship dynamic and the sexual issues/attitudes of both Entreri and Tai. This concludes the series. Commentary: Ultimately, I had two thoughts on my mind as I wrote FR fanfic--Entreri's possible pseudo-redemption and his friendship with Jarlaxle. In the end, their friendship grew to be more important to me than anything else, and I tried to narrow back in on it. However, RotP destroyed all my hopes, all my interest, and therefore my muse. My favorite older stories that I wrote for this fandom are "Darkest Sky: Desert's Edge" and the Descent into Darkness trilogy. Of the newer stories, my favorite is "Less Than Perfect." Naruto: "Brotherly Love" My Naruto muse dwells entirely in Suna with the Sandsibs. Most of my stories focus on the bond between Gaara and Kankuro, and occasionally I add in Temari as well. Most of them qualify as "bromance," meaning that Kankuro and Gaara have an extremely close, affectionate bond. However, they are not YAOI/Sandcest. (If you don't recognize the term "bromance," google it.) The entire driving force of my Naruto fic collection is the unbreakable bond in a (now healed) family. Commentary: I have been obsessed with the theme of friendship and family bonding since I first saw Star Wars: A New Hope in sixth grade. Kankuro's reaction to Gaara's abduction jumped off the screen and stole my heart. All the stories I wrote in 2008-2009--including "Dances with Shinobi," originally posted in 2008--reflect my joyful exploration of where that bond could go. As a result, the stories are unabashedly bromance--warm, fuzzy, sweet, and sentimental. I make no apologies. That said, my favorite older stories that I wrote for this fandom are "If It Matters" and "A Shoulder to Lean On," while my favorite newer ones are "Identity" and "The Shadow Room." |
