![]() Author has written 27 stories for StarTrek: The Original Series. --GRAPHICS-- I've been playing around with graphics again. All for Star Trek TOS. Wallpapers, and stamps/blinkies. What I have done is posted at Deviantart. Use my homepage link on this profile page if you wish to go and view them. Feel free to use them or post them on your own site or email goodies. Whatever. That's why I made them so others can show off their trekkie pride too. I have a couple of different sets of stamps, including the TEAM--Kirk or Spock or whomever your favorite original main character was. Including tribbles and red shirts. So if you stop by to view those I hope you get a giggle from them. --SO CLOSE TO HOME NOTICE-- But for those who are reading SCTH, thanks for sticking with me and that I do plan on finishing it no matter what. For myself and those of you who did stick by me! Below is the explanation in regards to Chapter 60 and the Kirk clan as best as I can explain to you all. If you've stopped here as of late, I'm thinking it's in reference to the story 'So Close To Home', and some explanation as to what the whole who-haw is about concerning the take on the Kirk clan from this stories point of view as to the story of where and why it became to what it is in story. If you read "A Conversation Between Strangers', then you'll understand some of it, but here is a further explanation: Many, many moons ago when the whole idea of creating the original basis of 'So Close To Home', and Liberty was first created the whole idea concerning the rest of the family became even more interesting. First the idea of Samuel and Aurelan kirk only having one son with them on their mission on Deneva hardly made any sense to begin with. Considering how young Aurelan seem to be, if she was the actual mother of all three children then it would be hard to imagine any good mother leaving behind her two youngest kids back home and only bring along the older of the three. And considering the age of Peter, which I guess to be around 10 to 12 years of age, what would make it all right just to bring him and not to younger boys? So the idea of Samuel being married once before seemed quite plausible and the other two boys were with their mother instead of being with their father and step-mother. Secondly, the idea of the names. I realize that they aren't what was in the book 'The Last Roundup', but you have to understand this whole plot started 25 years ago before that book was ever heard of. And at that time it seemed just as plausible that all the boys would have biblical names. I mean George 'Samuel' Kirk (father and son respectfully), 'James' Kirk, 'Peter' Kirk, 'David' Kirk, hell Kirk's own mother had a name from the Bible. Winona. It then seem to make sense the other two boys would also have names from the Bible as well. And the first thing that came to mind was Peter being from the 12 Apostles. So why not have the other two also named from those same Apostles. hence Matthew. There is already name chosen for the other brother and at some time there might be a story incorporating him, but don't hold your breath on it right away. Besides, after reading 'The Last Round-Up' I instantly loathed and questioned the whole idea of where the author came up with them. Thirdly, in regards to Matthew Kirk; Why a villan? Because I'm a firm believer that every family has one true, down to their very soul as being more than the black sheep of the family. I'm somewhat living proof of that whole thought process. And again going back to 'The Last Round Up', the two boys within it were very lacking in anything you could call the Kirk backbone or anything closely resembling what we think of as a Kirk. I mean one boy was a complete panty waist, while the other was a slimey, less than brillant and something even a good villan would find an embarrassment. In my mind if a Kirk is going to do anything it's never half way or something that appears a poor excuse for whatever vocation they choose. Even as a villan they should be high powered, intelligent and proud of what they are since they are so good at it. (You know that whole Kirk ego thing) So why not make him a bad guy that would rank up thier with those from the James Bond flicks or even, dare I say? Star Wars type? If you're gonna do it, do it the best and with everything you've got! I don't know if that fully explains everything, but it's the best I can do right now, with out boring you to tears, so I hope it's somewhat satifactory and makes the story enjoyable for you in that sense. But if you are intrigued or just want to ask questions in reference to SCTH or Kirk or McCoy or graphics, I have my email addy here too, so feel free to drop me line. I'm generally around if nothing is falling apart, breaking down or I forget to get up in the morning...general stuff ya know. I'm not a beta reader. We have enough of those around of those who think they are anyway to drown a moose, and personally I'm a plot and character person. I've never been know to pick up a book to read it for spelling and such like. Trust me it doesnt' matter how careful you are, in real life if you ever reach a point of sending anything to an agent, and the like it they're going to have their own editor fix it then forward to the publisher's who will have it re fixed two or three times for that type of problem. but if you can't write a story with a plot or good characters, you're aren't going to have to worry about getting it to an agent then on from there. Most important thing, respect yourself and the rest is easy...because I think trying to find a way to respect yourself, especially if you've a little tougher life emotionally or anything else, you can do what you feel and know how and why you've done it. That is a hard respect to earn, but it's probably one of the best to gain. ;) |
