Author has written 7 stories for Sailor Moon, Gargoyles, X-Men, Firefly, Escaflowne, and Moana. Trolling So we have and individual who seems to think leaving mean and hateful reviews is going to hurt me. I shall begin posting redacted version of their posts and making fun of them here. Unfortunately I deleted the first five before this thought occurred to me. Let the games begin. Received July 24, 2017: "Grow the f*&k up fat b&%*h *$*%. We're facebook friend's. Didn't take much to find you here. We've been "friends" for years I just never knew you wrote lame fanfiction." Let's consider for a moment that we are friends on Facebook. Why are you calling fanfiction lame when you are obviously reading it? I mean if it was really that lame you wouldn't waste your time on the site. Here's another thing, I'm not fat. So I laugh at you. How do I know you are not on my Facebook though? Because no one on my Facebook is a "facebook friend" the people on there are friends from my other walks of life of whom I have only ever met in person. We don't refer to ourselves as "Facebook friends" we are friends from *insert location here*. Even if this person were someone I know. Those speech patterns would certainly give them away, I mean the rampant cussing is only indicative of an individual with minimal education, and potentially intelligence, but I will wait to make that assessment. Also, my friends have balls. They don't hide behind a guest tag. Name yourself if you have the courage to do so. Now let's discuss your grammar: "friend's"? Why is this possessive? The apostrophe does not belong in that word. Also Facebook is a proper noun, it should be capitalized. And here's another indication you don't know me. Grow up? ME? NEVER!!!! July 29, 2017 I have apparently scared off the troll, no more reviews have been received. *sigh* I was really going to have fun with this. July 22, 2017 It's been years since I have been posting on this site, though I've been doing quite a bit of reading. I'm going to try submitting stories again, though once the current story is complete, I'm not sure what will be posted next. Oddly enough I'm posting stories on here to improve my report writing at work. I have found myself to be constantly hitting walls in regards to word choice, grammar, and description. I am hoping that by exploring the more enjoyable world of fanfiction where you throw words onto a page and find a cohesive story emerging, it will give me the confidence/experience needed to push my reports through faster. It may be an odd/impossible dream, but hey its worth a shot. September 8, 2005 I have just made the discovery that an author I have been reading for as long as I can remember, has passed. Andre Norton made the great journey on March 17, 2005. I am devastated. Her web page can be found at I made this posting in a forum on the subject: I have been reading books written by Andre Norton for as long as I can remember. Anything the library's had, I read. When I find her in used book stores I still snatch up anything I can find. It has always been the case that she has something new out there for me to find, something new for me to read and think about. I don't know what to think now that I know there will be no new forth coming novels. Her books stand the test of time, they are just as engrossing today as they were the first time I read them. She achieved so much in her life, effected so many different people. She gave children everywhere the dream, that they too could write, that their worlds might be enjoyed by her. She provided an escape for millions of people who's lives had become too hard. And she gave the strength to so many that obstacles could be conquered. I'd always hoped to one day meet her. To shake her hand, and tell her how instrumental she was in my life. My life was hard. I'm 23 years old and I can say my life WAS hard. My family lived by the skin of our teeth. If it were not for organizations such as the Salvations Army and the various GoodWill groups, we would have starved or frozen. I was kidnapped by my mother at the age of 4. Found by my father months later, yet never felt the ability there after to trust. My mother informed me that my father was dead, and such a betrayal is not easily gotten over. Still to this day I have trouble trusting. However, books written by Andre Norton helped me to stay out of any further trouble. I used her characters and her worlds to shape me. I sought sanctuary within realms of her creation so that I could fight the battle against gangs and drugs. I was able to stand a childhood with no friends because I had her there, when ever I needed her, to lean against. Now I am in better a situation, finished college, I'm married, I'm happy. I don't know if I could have made it here, without her. I feel like I have lost a fond parent, one I never met, but who was there all the same. Andre Norton, I, and hundreds more like me, will miss you and will never forget you. ~QueenTatooine To all other fans of hers, let us not forget her. In regards to my favorite list. I am trying to bring it down so that I have the best example of each author's work, this way it is easier for people to browse through it and find authors they might like. If your stories have been removed from my favorites list that is the reason. Feel free to browse through any time to review the works of these excellent authors, and I suggest checking out their other works as they all have others I'm sure you will appreciate, and don't forget to review (big grin). Happy reading. |
