Or, if he somehow managed to miss all this, maybe the way Merlin's eyes randomly turned gold clued him in. In short, Merlin uses his magic to save the prince, and Arthur is angry- only not for the reason Merlin thinks.

On Hiccup's first day back at work, Gobber, being Gobber, just has to bring up trolls. Hiccup doesn't exactly need left socks anymore, but he can't tell the difference. At this point, he's just glad he doesn't have to keep track of an extra boot.
