Author has written 15 stories for Legend of Zelda, and Once Upon a Time. Hello everyone! 8 Navy Roses here, or Roses for short. I thought it was high time for me to update this profile page considering the last time I had done so what 07-02-2013, a few months shy of three years. As I have changed greatly since then, it would be good to have a profile that matched myself. A Bit About Myself I am a college graduate in Professional Photography. I am 22, love cats, and enjoy LARP-ing about once a month. I first started writing fanfiction in 8th grade, but only got an account in the fall of 9th grade. I have been through many different fandoms, but my current ones are Legend of Zelda, Gravity Falls, Camp Camp, and Good Omens. Stories (written/rewritten after 2015-ish) Ten Years "The setting sun was shining through the kitchen window, and the candle caught the glow, illuminating the sparkles within. With all the reverence of a priest, Linebeck set the candle next to the third glass with a soft thunk." Hero and Captain remember their missing crewmember. A celebration fic for Phantom Hourglass's tenth anniversary. Voices Beside and Below When sirens end up being the latest thing the fearful Captain Linebeck is facing, a certain golden spirit ends up having to save his hide from... her own face? Another writing prompt, this time about sirens. The Stars Above and the Sea Below Before That Day, if asked what grief was, Ciela would say that she could not answer that, for she had never known grief. After That Day, Ciela would still say that she couldn't answer, for grief cannot be explained. It can only be experienced. This one shot had been written to help cope with the grief of two dear friends of the family's deaths. It had taken me quite a while to write it as I went through the stages of grief, but in the summer of 2015, I finally finished it. Gladiolus- Every two weeks, gladiolus flowers disappeared from Linebeck's neighbor's yard. However, this time, Ciela had caught the former captain in the act. She allowed him to take them on one sole condition. She got to tag along and see what girl Linebeck is trying to woo with Ciela's flowers. But the truth was a bit more painful than Ciela realized. Implied future Cielabeck. This one shot was written in response to an au prompt found on tumblr. Written in a single night, and re-written in a single day after the first night. Is It Really You?- Three villains. Three swords. Three heroes. One from the winds, one who once was a cowardly captain, and one who can shed her skin to become a wolf. They must sail the oceans, cross worlds, and traverse through time to save a newly made wife, a certain golden fairy-turned-hylain, and the first prince in a long line of princesses. First Book in the Really Trilogy. While this one was first written way back when during my early fanfiction days, I am in the process of re-writing it, and updating when that is finished. Siblings Are Really Forever- Once upon a time, Linebeck had a sister who had been kidnapped by his own father, causing him to leave the island of his home for thirteen years. Now he finally returns with his fiancee' Ciela at his side to face the tragedies of his past and hopefully be able to move on from them. However, all is not what it seems when his father returns... The second book in the Really Trilogy. Longest something ever took to write, started it in 2012, and finally finished it nigh on three and a half years later. Where you can see the main bulk of my writing change until I update the first part to match the second part. Stories Written Before 2015 (mainly 2010-2012) These stories you are welcome to read, but take them with a grain of salt as any "in-progress" stories that haven't been undated will not be completed. Also, these stories were written again in my early years. They are not necessarily bad, there are some good writing moments, but they are definitely not my best writing, and not a good reflection of my current writing skills. I keep them on here by part nostalgia, and part laziness. Future Stories that May Be Written (Updated 03-22-16) Nothing Ever Really Ends- Will definitely be written. Currently have a completed chapter layout and the early starting of a rough draft. Will be 50 chapters, and the final book in the Really Trilogy. Hymn for the Missing- Basic idea was a teacher fic that got some major plot going on in the second act. Also involves reincarnation, ghosts of pirate captain, and teacher cliches. May be written in the background of the Really Trilogy, but not posted until I have more time/inspiration or after the Really Trilogy has been completed. Really Trilogy (October 7th, 2010- ???) As you have seen mentioned several times previous, I have an ongoing series called the Really Trilogy. (something that 14/15 year old me came up with trying to be cleaver when naming titles, which is why the third word of each book, so to speak, is the word Really.) This story, is basically my baby. It is the longest I have stuck with a multi-chapter story, and not abandoned within a few months. And despite the long gaps in between updates, I have finished the first two parts of the trilogy with plans of beginning the third and final book in the summer of 2016. It is where the main bulk of my writing improvement came from, and has been a constant in the back of my mind. The basic plot line is focused on the romance between Ciela and Linebeck, and how outside forces, whether supernatural, human, or their own family, play into how their romance progresses. The early beginnings of the story doesn't show that at the moment, but with the updated writings, I hope that will shine through. It started out as a three-shot for the pairing Cielabeck (then simply being CielaxLinebeck). But while writing the final chapter (where the pair were going to kiss and get together) I ended up writing the Helmaroc King swooping in and kidnapping Ciela and Tetra. Thus kicking off what ended up being a trilogy consisting of so far of 52 chapters and over 139 k worth of words (and counting with my re-writing.) Back then, it wasn't good. But that's okay, because my writing grew better, and I went back already once to update a few chapters, but again planning on doing it again. (and maybe again in the future when everything is said and done) On a final note, this is a story that I plan to finish, if only for the few amount of people reading it now, and for the future readers who will be dismayed at seeing an abandoned fic (which is a feeling I know all too well) On my writing For my stories, I write in third person point of view. I find it the easiest to work with while writing many different characters in a complex story, but occasionally I will do limited 3rd POV. Another note is that my one-shots tend to become multi-chapter if I think about them too much or the story that's wanting to be told needs it. But I do have a few successful one-shots that I managed to keep them being a one-shot, mainly due to the story being able to be told within a single shot. Final Notes Looking at my stories, you can see that my one true OTP is Cielabeck. While they were side characters, their interactions with each other and in the manga had captured my attention and has given me so much writing material from a 9 year old game. They are my OTP, forever and always. ~Roses |
