Reviews for His Firecracker
RavenJ chapter 14 . 4/25/2019
So that's not fair at all. The kid went into his room without permission. Woke him up and bothered him. Not everyone is required to like children or put up with them. He would have been perfectly in his right to tell her that she had been a very rude and bad child for going into someones room without permission and if she did it again he would ensure that her parent punished her for being such a brat. Yelling at or hitting the child would not have been acceptable, but he didn't even really say anything mean to her. A total overreaction on Lily's part. He should in no way be forced to be around children if he doesn't like them.

Are you *sure* this Lily is a Gryffindor? Yes, she approached the Plot to feed the family standing in line behind her in a loud, incredibly disruptive manner, but let's face it, she used normal Gryffindor unreasonableness in a very delightful cause. This is known as the Reverse Slingback (Snape's version of it is to be grouchy in a way that helps someone who needs it, so it really is kind of a Slytherin thing).

I do love how Snape turns the tables, in a show of affection that clearly confuses her (and thus it was properly applied). And of course he's going to be around ten years, silly woman, possibly a century or so if given a choice.

I am sad that Slytherin is still apparently the Evil house, and that none of the Slytherin families recognize him. Do they still have Slytherin there at Hogwarts?

But a delightful story nevertheless.

Excellent chapter-Alexei will hang around Hugo, hoping the attraction will wane. Possibly for the next fifty years.

And I wonder how many brownies Lily bought for that poor family, and how Snape is going to explain why he didn't?
Guest chapter 34 . 4/26/2018
I love this!

Ah, slow progress is being made, and yet it's progress-and Lily is finally learning to let Severus set his own pace.

Alexei and Hugo are supposed to be grownups, but I can see Lily being very protective of Hugo anyway.

There's a reason I watch DIE HARD, and it isn't Bruce Willis (though I do appreciate his cheer of Yippie-I-ki-yay Etc. So expressive).

Love how both are behaving like fourth year students at their first Yule Ball, though. Delish!
excessivelyperky chapter 30 . 11/29/2017
Well, Snape actually loves Milk Duds, but he won't admit it. And I don't think the problem will be him and Lily killing each other...just sayin'.
excessivelyperky chapter 29 . 10/17/2017
Ah, yes. But Snape knows the hopeless side of love, too, that still hoped for all things-he probably understand *Hugo* a lot more than Hugo thinks, and could possibly give Hugo Sneaky Slytherin Hints about how to deal with Dolohov.

It's just *being* loved that Severus doesn't know how to deal with.

Cool drinking contest, though.

Oh, dear, I think I know what kind of bird Snape's new Patronus is. Oops!
excessivelyperky chapter 27 . 1/27/2017
Well...Hugo is absolutely right. Snape fell for Lily, got shafted, was tormented for nearly seven years by a Potter, had to risk dying and being tortured for another Potter-well, at least she isn't related to Dumbledore. That would be way too much for him to manage.

Aieee, no man is worth a full Brazilian! Couldn't she just have rouged her nipples or something simple like that? I adore Christopher and Domi, though.

But I love how Snape keeps telling himself how glad she's gone...when he rather clearly isn't. And how he reacts when he thinks Lily has been hurt by someone (he's clearly gone into 'who was it so I can hurt them badly' mode).

I thought of this odd pair last night and after searching, I found your story. It is wonderful and I love it. Thanks for writing this lovely story.

Oh, splendid! I can just imagine what Petunia might have to say about her martyred sister, though, if Lily had bothered to ask; her canonized grandmother did have an extraordinary ability to latch onto the most presentable wizard (it's not everyone who will marry someone who says "don't make me hex you, Evans'). But of course Lily still worships St. Lily, as does everyone else in the WW.

But it was very good of Hugo to sit and listen to some home truths about the people he was raised to worship, too. Snape needed to talk to someone who wouldn't dismiss a murder attempt as 'just a prank' or say 'kill me and be hated for what's left of your miserable life, but I need to look like a hero when it's my own stupidity that killed me'.

And that chocolate mint thing sounds delicious.

Ah, the lovely way they hiss at each other-soon they'll be throwing spitballs...
