![]() Author has written 11 stories for Harry Potter, Fullmetal Alchemist, One Piece, and Teen Titans. Former pennames: Disette, Alpestre. Had one before that, but never posted any fics under it and can't remember what it was anyway. WOOPS. Now changed to 'sylveisaque'. I'm 23, female, living in Carolina, south of Charlotte. Just now heading to SCAD for school, so yeah... updates will be sporadic. You have been warned. Due to disillusionment with how this site is being managed (and frankly the dearth of mediocre and downright crappy fics throughout) I am gradually reposting everything I can stand to look at on Ao3. Will provide links when everything's up. Yes, I took down Convergence, my HP/ FMA crossover. This doesn't mean it's abandoned. Merely that it's not 'Convergence' anymore, undergoing massive revisions, and unlikely to be posted anytime soon because I simply don't have the time to work on it. This account will be left alone after I have everything set up at Ao3. I won't deactivate simply because I know some people may enjoy reading my stories here, but for anything new, look to the other (coughbettercough) site. After reading some things on Fuckyeahfanficflamingo (tumblr), it occurred to me that I should add something in about what I'm looking for in reviews. I am looking for concrit. But I feel like posting this treads a very, very thin line, because I would like corrections regarding typos, plot holes, and the like, but the reviews I absolutely cannot stand are ones that berate me for any number of things that are purely a matter of perspective. To clarify, I mean things like minor characters featured heavily in fic that I happen to characterize one way, when a reviewer thinks they should be characterized differently, or such. Also irks me when- for some reason- I get berated for 1, focusing on one character too much, 2, taking a turn with the plot that somebody doesn't like, or 3, not sticking to canon like sushi rice mixed with rubber cement. I'm... not the creator of any of the series I play with. The term 'creative liberties' comes heavily into play here. I mess around with fanfic because it's fun, and an enjoyable way to improve my skills. Sorry if I sound like a bitch here, but if you dislike my fanfics because of pairings, plot twists, or any related reasons, then I'll surely be disappointed if you stop reading, but that's your choice, just like it's my choice to stick with the plot I've been fleshing out for x number of months/years. I won't change things like that for one bad review. There's a post on FYFF that gives a great analogy and compares this whole back-and-forth to a potluck dinner, which is linked here. And now, for something (not) completely different...
