My goodness. This fic is one of my upmost favourites now. brilliant writing. I'm new to the fandom, but I've already read a solid chunk of fanfiction, and lemme say- there was only like two other where they both were SO in character. like. it's amazing. but what has me lying on the floor drilling and hugging my phone is how you write Ed's relationship with Roy. the love, all the thoughts, the fleeting phrases and moments that make my heart constrict painfully in my chest. words 'father figure', 'such precious thing', those 'comfort' moments, and those of blind panic because he Needs Mustang by his side - thrown in so abruptly into the torrent of thoughts it makes you stagger, and especially the way you have Ed switch from calling Roy by his rang, surname and name in his mind, the way it carries So. Much. Emotion. those moments are so powerful, those paragraphs and even just sentences, they made me cover my mouth with my hand and stare into space because. Fuck. actually, i don't really remember what i did then, cause this whole fic so far I've been sitting with wide eyes and covered mouth and gorgeously aching heart, because i LOVE angst. And I LOVE parental Roy Ed more than i can express coherently in words. And i feel like this work is a freaking gift to me personally. So so so glad i stumbled upon this cause I'm always searching Ao3 for fics and this encounter was purely accidental. can't wait to read the last chapter

I really hope you come back and finish this someday, even just one more chapter, this is really good!

This is a really well-written story and it's the first one I've read by you and I thought I should leave you a short comment about how great of a writer you are. I'm not fantastic at pointing out mistakes so if there are spelling mistakes, forgive me for not telling you and helping you out however I doubt that there are any.
You're very good at describing scenes and your dialogue is excellently written. Very atmospheric.

Hi there! I know it's been 5 years since this was updated but uh... I really like what you've done here. I do hope you'll consider finishing this because it really is a very good piece of writing. You definitely have something down solid with Ed and Roy's relationship. It's unique from everything else I've read w parental!royed. It's like a primal and desperate need for one another and it works really, really well with this story. It's just so unbelievably genuine and sad and compassionate, and I just love it so much so I wanted to give you props for that. Anywho, well done on this and thanks for sharing! :)
