Author has written 1 story for NCIS: Los Angeles. I discovered fan fiction in January 2014, purely by accident when googling something else. The first story I read was Mexican Rose by knirbenrots. I was really impressed and even a little surprised with the outstanding writing and how brilliantly they portrayed the characters. The second story was Cure or Disease by Shaz1, another truly excellent author. Well that was that, I was hooked and haven’t stopped reading since. I wrote a few chapters of a book about 15 years ago and have never gone back to it, and after reading some of the stories, I fast became inspired by the authors here to return to it and finish what I started. In March of 2014 - I dug out the disc (floppy disc at that!) and uploaded my 'book' to my computer - when reading the chapters I had written, I realised that my main character was so much like NCIS Los Angeles' Callen in personality, that it would be fairly easy to adapt it to a fan-fiction piece for one of my favourite shows, so started my first fan-fiction - Narcissus. I run my own business from home, making and selling jewellery and dolls, re-enactment wears and other small crafty bits, I also home educate, so find my life gets a bit full sometimes - pulling me away from things like writing. With Narcissus I posted 3 chapters fairly quickly and just didn't find the time to write, then the more time that went by the less confident I felt about finishing it. Sept 2016 came and out of the blue I received a review, from Dramamama5 asking me to continue - Thank you :) I will endeavour to finish Narcissus and hopefully find the time to write some more fictions based on the ton of other plots and ideas I have. Some of my favourite shows are: NCIS: Los Angeles, Arrow, Killjoys, Criminal Minds, Grimm, Supernatural, Walking Dead, Simon and Simon, Chicago P.D./Fire/Med I usually prefer stories that are close to the original characters portrayed on screen, but have really enjoyed some of the romance links that have been written. I dunno why (kinda shocked myself lol) but I do like a bit of whump/hurt/comfort, I love the healing and character/relationship building that comes from the incidents – but not so much when its so over the top, where I think geez Superman would struggle surviving that! However I know that the will to live can be amazing and people Do survive some unbelievable injuries (like a friend of mine who survived a pool cue going through the roof of his mouth about 20 years ago). •• Ƹ{}Ʒ •• Things I don’t like Slash - not keen on the idea of changing definitely straight characters and brotherly/fatherly love to something more, but then I'm also not keen when they change someone from being gay to straight. Guess I just prefer things to be canon, when it comes to characters identity/personalities. More than just a hint of suggested child abuse or violations - I realise that if it's part of someones' history, then it can't be ignored but really don't want to read expansive details, just the thought brings a sickness to my stomach and tears to my eyes. •• Ƹ{}Ʒ •• If I’ve read a story and didn’t like it much, I don't tend to post a review, just because it might not have been to my taste, doesn't mean it wasn't good. |
