Author has written 3 stories for Twilight, and Harry Potter.
Updates:
Follow Your Heart: Pretty much abandoned, though I do still have the atrocious drivel that is the unedited start of the next chapter. Don't expect much.
Darkest Witch Of Her Age: Chapter 14 is about a three quarters done. I haven't abandoned it, and I'm not going to abandon it. I've just been busy, and dealing with an ill father, lately. I have notes for the rest of the story, and some bits of later chapters are already written as well.
The Wandmaker: It's finished, but I really want to go over it and stretch it out a bit with some more details and things... plus the ending feels way too rushed for my liking.
Things that could be taken as challenges if you want:
Twilight:
* Bella refuses to hunt innocents; this means innocent animals, not just humans.
Harry Potter:
* What if there was no Voldemort? - really think about it.
* What if Hermione was the girl who lived?
- her parents must still be muggles
- at least one of them must still be alive, how and why are up to you.
Things I like:
Harry Potter:
Characters:
* Hermione Granger - intelligent, talented, and doesn't try to hide that from the world.
* Luna Lovegood - she sees the world differently to everyone else, and doesn't let them bully her into hiding herself.
* Severus Snape - he's not a nice guy, but he is good... made some mistakes as a kid, and spent the rest of his life trying to make up for it. Plus really, how many people are able to deceive Voldemort up close for decades?
Twilight:
Characters:
* Bella - some say she's weak, but she went through hell for love.
* Carlisle - goodness incarnate, this is a guy who fought against impossible odds just to be true to himself.
* Rosalie - fiercely loyal and protective, and not afraid to show it, plus she breaks the mould (the beauty queen that rebuilds cars).
* Victoria - we never really got to know her, but I still feel somewhat of an affinity to her for reasons I can't explain.
Stuff in general:
* The vampires make for a refreshing break from 'traditional' vampire lore, the idea of venom causing someone's cells to reform into a crystalline structure that sparkles in the sun (much like an uncut diamond) amongst other things (Inability to eat, improved brain function, etc.) certainly encourages one to not get stuck in the rut of a myth, and think outside the box.
Star Trek:
Stuff in general:
* Before the latest movie(s) came and broke things, all the tech was based on things that were known to be theoretically possible, while the overall storyline was "peace without conflict" - it was an artists hopeful vision of the future, not just pure fiction.
Star Gate (movies and series):
Characters:
* The Nox - their peaceful manner greatly appeals to me. I wish we'd seen more of them.
Stuff in general:
* The way the original movie, and early SG1 episodes interlaced myth with sci-fi was what initially caught my interest, and was a really interesting mix.
Things I don't like:
Harry Potter:
Characters:
* Draco Malfoy - generic wimpy bully, that's really all I saw in his character.
* Gryffindor - ok not strictly a character, but the house in general just seems to embrace stupidity and recklessness.
Stuff in general:
* Gryffindor is good, Slytherin is Bad - the story is riddled with this, Severus is the only anything that goes against this black/white outlook that fills J.K.'s world. (and bonus points if you caught the unintentional pun).
Twilight:
Characters:
* Jacob - I don't care how hot you think the movie guy looks, forcing yourself on a woman (or anyone) isn't acceptable.
* Renesmee - "vampires can't have children unless the author is running out of ideas for the fourth book."
Stuff in general:
* The movies suck, there's no consistent storyline; as some follow the books, even in areas they depend on from the previous movie which didn't.
* I get a feel of constant christian overtones throughout the books, the vampires with a cross in the house are good, everyone else is bad or borderline and in need of help.
Star Trek:
Stuff in general:
* The recent movies suck, other than character names and a few clichés they really don't have anything in common with any of the earlier works. As such they've lost the magic that made it interesting.
Star Gate:
Stuff in general:
* It was far too militaristic, encompassing everything that makes our species a shameful rabble.
Randomness:
I actually have an idea for a Twilight story that I'm not telling anyone about because I'm mean.
'Alot' is not a word, 'mom' is American not English, 'then' and 'than' are not interchangeable... neither are of/off, your/you're, or their/they're/there. Since when is 'this' and 'these' interchangable?
Changing tenses is annoying, seriously. I saw a story that changed tense 3 times in one sentence once, which was kind of amusing, but meant I didn't read any more of it.
If you're changing points of view, you should probably rewrite it as 3rd person.
Unfinished stories annoy me, people who point out that my stories are also unfinished annoy me more.
Cake is good, chocolate is better, chocolate cake will be confiscated; you can have the plate back when I'm finished.
If you find yourself saying *FLASHBACK* or similar, you'll find you're actually missing a paragraph or two.
