Hey. My real name's Chelsea. I live and go to school in New England, USA, and have many varied interests. For example, I was brought up a proper Catholic. I ended up converting to Neo-Paganism in May of 2004, and have never looked back since. If the phrase 'neo-pagan' hurts your brain, you can consider me Wiccan, although that's mostly inaccurate.

I do my best to not judge others and have an open mind. This is greatly helped by the fact that I am also bisexual. To anyone interested, I'm currently single, and no, I don't have cybersex. Well, as long as you don't count many NC-17 role playing sessions, but that's always seemed a bit more impersonal to me.

I love reading, writing poetry, video games, old Japanese and Ancient Egyptian culture, learning new languages, shocking people, and generally making a pest of myself. I am a genuine optimist; no, I am not faking it, I am really that cheerful. grins slightly I'm not at all as uptight as I sound, and, though I'm not very good at being witty, seem to make people laugh a lot. I have very eclectic music tastes, and, if you couldn't tell, simply love to talk. So don't be afraid to drop me a line via IM or e-mail.

I have a huge favorites list because I add whatever fic I'm interested in seeing an update for. However, apparently I read way too much fanfiction for my own health, so said list has spilled over onto two more accounts: Fennec, and Sable3733.

Also, my penname used to be Yoruko, and then Handmaiden of Aphrodite, so if any of my fics still have that down, that's why. I'm a terminally slow writer, so, uh, apologies for that. I'm genuinely sheepish about it.

Personal Opinion

Alternate universe = good.

Time travel = better.

Crossovers = best.

I don't think Malik has a yami/omote/mou hitori no boku.

Japanese words can't be pluralized, people.

If you're going to call Willow and Tara Wiccan, then do some damn research first. Hello. It's a religion, not a magic system.

Swearing? It's a word. Get over it.

I have nothing against het. I just like slash better because I love conflict. For example: threesomes? I'm there. Plus, a lot of canon het just doesn't seem like it has real chemistry to me. I love role defiance.

When Kenshin says 'sessha,' he does not speak in third person as we think of it. Japanese people always technically speak in third person, and the dubbers were just trying to show that his use of 'sessha,' '-dono' and 'de gozaru' instead of 'desu' sounded very strange to their ears. Not bizarre, crazy, and just plain stupid, which is what they got instead.

If you have absolutely horrid grammar, learn better grammar before you post a story. Honestly, if you do like writing, it should be a labor of love. And it's horrible to see people write things when they can't even put quotations in the right way and they're posting it for public consumption! Usually I promote people posting what they write and getting feedback, but it makes me cringe occasionally, and you do have to have genuinely despicable grammar. Spelling doesn't bother me as much, though is there for a reason, you know.

Role Playing

I RP frequently with a few friends of mine, and would love to add to that (admittedly meager) number! I'm willing to try most anything, though, and I'm familiar with more series than is listed up there. I have no scruples when it comes to NCS either, so long as it's done accurately and the victim doesn't miraculously get better.
