Loved every part except for the "it's been a while, Saitou" thing. Too much cliche in that. But the ending is genius.

Nah, when you first mentioned Tokio, I thought it was Kamatari. Although I don't think he would have been able to hide his ki in plain sight to get away with this.

hey, its has been so long since a next chapter, i kind of miss it. ( well, sorry to say, but i have no suggestions, i have been focusing on school too much to even know when to go to bed before 1:00 a.m. but, you two are very good at making stories...i am sure your next story will be the best one yet. Good luck, and remember...if you can trust nothing else...trust your heart...lol, got a little philosophical there. p

The idea of a low, threatening, Battousai-style "that we will" was both disturbing and, somehow, hysterically funny. I loved the Senkaku fight scene, since it showed that this Kenshin is still very deadly. I'm not quite clear why Kenshin couldn't sense Soujiro's presence while he was fighting Senkaku, unless it has to do with Soujiro's lack of kenki meaning he has no aura at all.

The scene with Tokio was great! Exactly what Kenshin needs to start dealing with his feelings for Kaoru. I was amused by his thinking that Tokio is too quiet, then wondering if that's because he is now used to Kaoru and Misao. I love the fact that Kenshin now thinks of where Kaoru and the others are as "home"! I was thinking that she was going to have to chase after him, but now I'm looking forward to what happens when he returns to the dojo. Is he going to tell her the truth? And how will Misao fit into the mix, especially since Aoshi is doubtless still lurking, ninja-like.

*giggles* I like Misao this way! She's fun! I mean, this Kenshin is different from the standard Rurouni-model Kenshin, so possibly he needs a different Misao.

I love the way that you guys are showing Kenshin and Kaoru thinking of each other while they are apart, particularly the way that Kenshin's mind is drifting back to her even though he's sure she must hate him, etc.

The way that you continue to play around with the "normal" Kyoto story arc continues to be fascinating and a lot of fun. You're taking the characters and events and putting your own unique spin on them based on the different premise of your story. I look forward to seeing how this is going to keep going!
