NOTE: I'm sorry that it has been really, really long since I last updated SFMA. I've been doing...all sorts of things. And I've gotten sick a few times too. Again. However, I am editing older chapters as well. For example, chapter 23, is a good deal different to it's original form, to have a read, and tell what you think if you can :). Hopefully, I should have it up and working on the newest chapter in the following weeks.

I hope, at the very least, the new chapter 23 is enough (I might even switch between new chapters and re-editing old ones). Some haven't even been touched since 2012, and my writing has improved SO MUCH from then.

Hello. Let me tell you about myself. Perhaps we have things in common (and it saves time if anyone is curious about me)?

I greatly enjoy reading; especially tales of magical worlds/fantasy/adventure, (such as the “Harry Potter” series) and my favourites in this genre are “Dragonkeeper” and “His Dark Materials”. I also like the “Narnia” series. I also enjoy mystery novels (I am a "Sherlock Holmes" fan). Finally, I like “A Song of Ice and Fire”, with dark, realistic world, and many highly developed and interesting characters. And the switching POV.
My favourite single books (books not in a series) are “The War of the Worlds” (for the well-known twist and the suprizing scientific accuracy and realism), “The Paperbag Princess”, and “The Snow Queen” (my favourite fairy tale along with “Hansel and Gretel”…fuck you, “Frozen”).
I have also read and enjoyed the “AIR”, “KANON”, “School Days”, “Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni” and “Umineko No Naku Koro Ni” visual novels (the characters for the first two, and the characters, plot and theories for the last three) while I am still enjoying the “Haruhi Suzumiya” books (Yuki Nagato is my favourite character. I love her. She is smart and badass! What could be better?).
Finally, I enjoy the works of William Shakespeare. My favourite plays are “Twelfth Night” and “As You Like It”, but my favourite quote is from the famous tragedy play "Macbeth":

I like this quote as it make you think about the brevity of life, and if you are doing as much as you can with life. Another play I like is “Gregory’s Girl”.

My favourite TV shows are "Doctor Who" (my favourite Doctors are the First, Fourth, Fifth, Eighth and Eleventh. My favourite companions are Susan Foreman, Barbara Wright, Jamie, Leela, Sarah Jane Smith, Ace, Donna Noble, and Amy Pond), “Torchwood” (why did everyone except Gwen have to die?!), “Merlin” (Despite the terrible writing from some episodes. My favourite episodes are “The Poisoned Chalice”, “The Moment of Truth”, “The Lady of the lake”, “A Servant of Two Masters”, though I wish Arthur had saved the day, and “Lamia”. I can forget the anachronisms, it being based on a legend. My favourite characters are Guinevere, Merlin, and Morgana. Why did the writers have to turn Morgana evil so poorly? And I wish Arthur had saved Merlin more. And the series ending…what the hell…), "Lip Service" (Instant favourite! Well, that is despite the copious fanservice), “Wolfblood”, "Being Human", “Once Upon A Time” (it has replaced “Merlin” for me nicely), “The Simpsons”, "Futrurama", "American Dad", and any nature shows featuring David Attenborough or Bill Oddie. I also like watching documentaries.

My favourite Manga are "Card Captor Sakura" (It was the first manga I read and it will always be have a special place in my heart. I prefer the manga to the anime and movies, but they are still OK), "Sailor Moon" (Ami Mizuno is my favourite character out of the whole of the series), “Claymore” (one of few feminism-friendly shonen, though I wish Raki had remained a Non-Action Guy), “Black Lagoon”, (Fabiola, Roberta and Gretel are my favourite characters), "Elfen Lied", “Soul Eater”, “The Rose of Versailles”, “Naasuca of the Valley of the Wind” (so rare to have a female protagonist in such a story), “Absolute Boyfriend”, “Barefoot Gen” (such a harrowing and effective semi-biography), and “Cutey Honey” (notable for being one of the first Shonen series to feature a female as the main character…and the beginner of fanservice).

My favourite Anime are "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", “Seirei No Moribito” (This is the kind of stories I love, the rare ones with a female main character fiercely and truth protecting a male character, and it is made even better with a feminine male. I hope to find the novel series on which it was based), “Jigoku Shoujo”, “Neon Genesis Evangelion” (the gender flip of this great series, I just love it! The characters are engaging, the story is interesting, and well, it is just a truly...thoughtful anime), “Puella Magi Madoka Magica”, Bee Train’s “girls with guns” trilogy, and “Paranoia Agent” (May Satoshi Kon R.I.P. He was one of the greatest minds in anime).

As well as these, I am also partial to the following, which are manga unless otherwise indicated. "Fullmetal Alchemist" (almost a favourite, though I have some sexism-related issues regarding the original manga), “Zettai Karen Children” manga (“Soul Eater” and “Zettai Karen Children” are the two of the VERY few Shonen series I know of which have female main protagonists/leads), “Zombie-Loan” (one of the many anime adaptations “Xebec” failed on), “Maho Sensei Negima” (Chisame Hasegawa resembles me when she is wearing her glasses, and has a similar personality to me, which is why she is my favourite character), “Tokyo Mew Mew” (I like both the manga and the anime equally. Lettuce Midorikawa is my favourite character), and “Renkin san-Kyuu Magical Pokaan” (sometimes I need to aside my from my usual, plot-driven manga/anime, in favour of a more amusing, comedic one. Aiko is my favourite character. As you see I am a fan of Meganekko characters _).

My very favourite films are “Alien” (I’m one of the few people to perfer it to “Aliens” for the horror and story, among other things, and the lack of Newt), “Fantasia” (I love classical music, I love the idea of it, the stories that came from that idea, the mixture of sweetness and horror, and well, it’s just a beautiful film), “Pan Labyrinth” and “Mulan” (both the live action and “Disney” versions).
I like plenty of series too “Kill Bill” (A woman getting revenge with a katana and martial arts while NOT wearing revealing clothing? Great!), and the “Nightmare on Elm Street”.
As for individuals, there are, “Pan’s Labyrinth”, and “Mulan” (both versions).
I am a great fan of Studio Ghibli and most of its films (by Miyazaki mainly, of course, but I do not like “Castle in the Sky” because Sheeta is a Damsel-in-Distress) with my favourites ones being “Naasuca of the Valley of the Wind”, “My Neighbour Totoro”, “Grave of the Fireflies”, (although it was not the intended purpose, it is the best anti-war film I have seen), “Kiki’s Delivery Service” (even if the author of the Kiki books hated it), “Princess Mononoke”, and “Spirited Away”.
In addition, I am a fan of the films by Satoshi Kon, my favourites being “Tokyo Godfathers” and “Paprika” (which was the inspiration for the shitty “Inception”).
The final anime films I love are “Metropolis” (It is one of my very favourites, even if the ending did sadden me. The manga, although much different, is good too, even if, like many film adaptions, it is vastly different), “Voices of a Distant Star” (A wonderful, emotional film, with a great gender-reversal of ‘I will wait for you’, which I hate when the female is waiting), “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” and "Blood: The Last Vampire".

I also enjoy playing video games, and have been since I got a SNES colour. However, I see nothing special with being female and a game player and refuse to use the title “Girl Gamer”.
My very favourite games are “Beyond Good and Evil” and “Primal”. I love the first not only because Jade shares my name (it being rare in fiction) but because of the fact that she is not sexualized, has not one, but two males to rescue, and is overall a badass. As for the second, how rare is it that we get a strong female protagonist who goes out to recuse her boyfriend? She is sexualized in comparison to Jade, but it’s not that much. It is also the UK equivalent to “Ico” and purely because of the story in comparison, I do not like “Ico”. I will not list them all, but I like all games in which you play as a tough female fighting, in sensible clothes, who sets on a journey for her own goals, or is trying to find, rescue or save a Dude-in-Distress (or the world or a city, etc). Another one of these, that is up there with my very favourites and, like many, is highly underrated, is “Remember Me”.
My favourite series are the “Tomb Raider” (Yes, I know Lara was originally male, but changed to female and made to appeal to sex-crazed boys with her unrealistic body, but I still greatly enjoy the games and their stories/characters), “Parasite Eve” (the third game…sexist and stupid), and “Portal” (Chell is awesome, GLaDOS is a great villain and Wheatley adorable…and then terrifying). I am also a huge fan of RPGs. The very best, for me are “The Elder Scrolls” and “Dragon Age”. For the former, it is amount of interactively with the environment, how much is going on the background, that there are always several plotlines and the rich history and just how much time and events have passed. For the latter, it is the world in general, the characters (well, expect Isabela and Fenris), the more realistic treatment (though not good) of mages, and well, the choices.
I love “Phantasy Star” (the first game mostly, due to Alis/Alisa being one of the first female RPG protagonists and a good one at that with her being strong and the leader, and has the rarity that is the tragically dead MALE relative/friend/lover).
I must admit to enjoying “Final Fantasy”, as well. My favourites are II (Frioniel is one of my favourite FF main protagonists, and the game is good for having the ONLY non-sexist male White Mage...if only he had not died...); V (Bartz is another of my favourite main characters, though I feel Lenna should have been such, as the story is more centred around her. Good for one of the only female-dominant parties in an RPG); VI (if only Tina/Terra was the true main character and not so weak and a Damsel-in-Distress, though I still like her); X (Tidus is my last favourite male main protagonists, and Rikku is one of my favourite FF characters of all); and XIII over all. Lighting is my most favourite FF main protagonist and character of all. However, I used to dislike Hope, but he grew on me, his sexist, cliché story with his parents on the other ahnd… However, I hate IV and VIII for being the worst in sexism, along with Squall (IV being one of the most sexist games I have ever played, which is saying something. It is completely undeserving of its critical acclaim). Not to mention the sheer amount of dead/stuffed-in-the-fridge mothers, wives and girlfriends. I enjoy “Fire Emblem” in the way as FF. Yes, like most, it has the many damsels-in-distress, the as disgustingly sexist feminine, delicate female healers/mages, along with the boring, masculine male warriors, and the dead mothers, wives and girlfriends, but it has plenty of badass and masculine female warriors, a fair amount of badass feminine female warriors and adorable feminine male healers. There is even a few “Distressed Dudes”. Tiamat (Tatiana), Kilroy (Rhys), and Mia are just awesome.
I also like “Kingdom Hearts” (even though it, too, is quite sexist at points, the gameplay and mix of characters/story is something I quite enjoy), but my favourite and the “Spyro the Dragon” series (I particularly like the “Legend of Spyro” trilogy). I also causally play the “Super Mario”, “Legend of Zelda”, “Kirby”, and “Sonic the Hedgehog” series, mainly because “Mario”, “Zelda” and “Sonic” are, again, one of the many series/single games with the sexist and constant Damsel-in-Distress stories. “Donkey Kong”, however, is a fun platformer, a nostalgia classic, and lacks a DiD, and even two strong females, so I like it).
Finally, I am a great fan of the game “Spec Ops” as I am a big fan of deconstructions. Every COD/Battlefield/general macho FFS fanboy needs to play this.

Lastly, I enjoy learning about history and psychology and I follow politics.

“Card Captor Sakura" - Sakura x Tomoyo (I HATE Sakura x Syaoran, their story is just so cliché! Besides, even if she does not love her back, Tomoyo loved Sakura first!), Touya x Yukito/Yue, Friendship!Sakura x Yue, and Eriol x Kaho (Eriol is in his THIRIES/FOURIES. Why would he go out with an 11-year old?! He is in love with Kaho).

"Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon" - Usagi x Mamoru, Ami x Usagi, Rei x Minako, Haruka x Michiru, Hotaru x Chibiusa and Chibiusa x Helios.

"Elfen Lied" – Friendship!Kaede/Lucy x Aiko, Mayu x Nana, Friendship!Nyu x Nana, Friendship!Nozomi x Mayu, Parental!Kouta x Mayu.

"Fullmetal Alchemist" - AlWin (it just works better), Mei x Khayal (I feel like the only person who supports this apart from Averia), LingRan, Friendship!EdWinAl, Friendship!Fem!Ed x Male!Winry x Fem!Al, Fem!Al x Male!Winry, Fem!Roy x Male!Riza and Fem!Ling x Male!Ran.

“Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles” – Clone!Sakura x Clone!Syaoran, (the ONLY Sakura x Syaoran I like).

“The Sarah Jane Adventures” – Maria x Luke (a great couple, Rani x Luke just does not work), Friendship!Maria x Luke x Clyde x Sarah Jane (long friend friendship pairing _), Friendship!Maria x Clyde, and Clyde x Rani (“The Empty Planet” officially made it one of my favourite pairings).

“Merlin” - Gwen x Merlin (even though I know what the canon couple will be and always has been), Lancelot Friendiship!Merlin x Gwen x Arthur, Parental!Gaius x Merlin and Parental!Gaius x Gwen (due to her losing her father).

“My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” – TwiDash (yes, I dislike the ‘Dash is a lesbian’ cliché, and the ‘close friends as a couple’ cliché, but…they are just so adorable together! And they are two of my favourites of the Mane Six).

“RWBY” – White Rose, maybe Bumblebee (it just seems to cliché, each partner team of the teams being an potential couple/has one in love with the other), Friendship!Pyrrha x Weiss, and Friendship!Pyrrha x Jaune, and Friendship!Nora x Ren

“Final Fantasy X/X-2” - Rikku x Tidus, Rikku x Yuna and Lulu x Wakka.

“Final Fantasy XIII” - Serah x Snow, Fang x Vanille, Sisterly!Lighting x Serah, Friendship!Serah x Vanille and Friendship!Vanille x Sazh.
