A WORD ON REVIEWS: I try to reply to each one I get. Might take me a little while, but I do respond, unless you have private messaging disabled. As reviews are the currency exchanged between readers and authors for the otherwise free material on these sites, I think leaving them is the considerate thing to do. Good, bad, let us authors know how our work is received. For me, the more detailed the review the better, as I then get to learn about where I'm going wrong or what I need to clarify. And I always give back detailed replies. Besides, I think I speak for all writers when I say if you can spend an hour reading our work, then you can spend a minute sharing your thoughts. I appreciate feedback.

All right. Time to put this situation to rest once and for all. I have threatened to quit off and on for a few years now, but I’ve come to a decision. Fan fiction has a special place in my heart, but I also have a life and I don’t feel like I can give either one the attention I used to. I certainly don’t write as much as I used to, not fan fiction. I have a ton of original work I’d like to get started, but prior commitments to fan fiction always get in the way. As recently as last week I’d decided to finish the ongoing works I have now, and just call it quits. I’d been growing more and more dejected, more disillusioned, and less motivated with fan fiction in general. Didn’t seem like I had a passion for it anymore despite new stories coming to me almost every week.

But then Kishimoto delivered his epic mindfuck and the world shifted.

Let me say this here and now, a thing most of you probably already know about me: I’m not a fangirl. I don’t do ship wars. I don’t have an OTP, or believe in the sanctity of yaoi. I have been known to write all sorts of pairings doing all sorts of things, and those are just the tame ones I’ve actually written. There’s tons of next level shit I haven’t put out. (Outlined and saved to my computer, though, so there’s hope.) And I’m not usually one to get worked up over things I see in media.

Except SasuSaku.

I don’t know what other people against this idea tout as their reasons, but for me…the idea of this pairing is fundamentally wrong to me. And it’s not about the relationship. It’s about so many other things. Most notably, how unworthy I personally feel Sakura is, and how against all Kishimoto has told us for years this is. Years of zero development between Sasuke and Sakura. Sasuke actually stating he doesn’t love her. To end with them together and having children? The enormity of that inconsistency does not compute. As a writer, he betrayed his readers. And it was a copout. I’ve heard the studio didn’t let him do the ending he wanted, but it seems to me that the originator of the most successful manga/anime in the world would have more creative control.

Whatever. It hurt me. Seriously hurt me. Not that Naruto ended. Not that it ended with Naruhina. The SasuSaku. As petty as that is, with all that’s going on in the world, there it is. Naruto is where I learned to write, where I honed my craft, where I found a platform for that craft, and where I found you wonderful readers, my support system. It is incredibly personal to me. And this ending is the final injustice in a world full of it. So. As I stated on Facebook:

"I will never, ever, ever, fucking EVER stop writing Nausasunaru. It's the only way I can heal."

And there you have it. The final word on the question of whether or not I’m leaving fan fiction. I’m not. I’ve declared war. This wrong will be made write (pun intended). I will write the real pairing of Naruto, Sasuke with Naruto, and every other slash pairing I can think of, until I’m too old to care. I will write them a thousand times, in a thousand ways, until the ending Kishi gave us is negated in its entirety. At least in my mind. I have this ongoing flirtation with insanity that flares up when I’m stressed, but this is the truth. Every story I’ve tabled, or put on a back burner, every idea, will now be dragged out into the light of day and thrown down in defiance of Kishi’s treachery. And it is treachery to me because I feel like the yaoi fans are what kept his manga running. He did a brilliant job, but he fucked the ending. And a story is only as good as its ending, or so I’ve heard.

Just one last thing before I go. I will be taking breaks from writing fan fiction from time to time. And once the current ongoing fics are done, I’ll be going on a hiatus in order to write original work. However, I will always come back. I may not post often, but I will post. Something. Sometimes. And I don't foresee anymore oneshots in my future so whatever I put up will most likely be some drawn-out multi-chaptered creature with teeth and claws…like usual.

You all know I have some sequels planned. I also have some new stories. I’ll be putting summaries up for what’s coming, so you know for sure what I’m up to. I’ll even put what progress there is on a certain fic so you know how soon it may be coming. More summaries will of course be added as stories come to me.

And that, friends and neighbors, is that.
