![]() Author has written 3 stories for How to Train Your Dragon. Hey all! Triumphant Fury here! I have been told that I am a conundrum. I’m a bit of a Harry Potter nut (okay, I’m a serious Potterhead), and I’m also pretty obsessed with the HTTYD world. If you ask my friends and family, they will tell you I’m a wee bit of a sociopath (highly functioning of course. Like Sherlock Holmes, lol). I guess I'm sort of a female Hiccup Haddock. Intelligent, sarcastic, and can be a bit of a shithead at times. I try to do my best even when it doesn’t always work out. I don’t fit in to cultural norms, preferring to go my own way. I’m also just enough of a daredevil to keep life interesting. Willing to try almost anything once. I love the outdoors and try to spend my summers hiking or camping and my winters snowboarding or snowshoeing. At least when work isn’t getting in the way. I was a Mathlete, chess club champ, and honor student in my youth. Then I joined the cool crowd and was 'just like one of the boys' in automotive and metalworking classes in high school. Now I’m a heavy equipment operator at a coal mine where I am one of 10 women working with a crew of 150 men. One of whom happens to be my husband of 10 years, but I got hired there first (yay feminism!). Most of the time I operate a D11 Cat bulldozer. Google it if you’re unsure how big those are ;) I'm a member of the Mine Rescue Team at work as well as a volunteer with Search and Rescue in my free time. First aid, fire fighting, and ropes; heck yes! LOL I’m also a very creative person. As a millwright/machinist apprentice, I love building and fixing things. I draw and paint too. However like many people, I’m self-conscious about the end result. Certain that it isn’t really any good. So it goes with my writing. I’ve always loved language. The way that you can use words on a page to weave images into someone’s mind. Taking the reader on an emotional ride simply by drawing them into the descriptive web of a well written story. I am a huge fan of books and have always wanted to write my own some day. Unfortunately, this site is most likely going to be the closest I will ever get to that. I will often read a story and think, “that was really good, but it would be cool if...” Then my dark and twisted creative mind will take me on a journey as it builds its own universe around those same characters. It would seem many of you are much the same way. I have read a lot of HTTYD fanfics on here and many of them are absolutely excellent. However, I have had some stories of my own stashed away in my deep subconscious that I have been told by family and friends I must make a reality. I will do my best to put pen to paper (hypothetically) now and share them with the rest of you. I hope you all enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them. Yours truly, Teresa from Canada |
