dam this is a good story. been having trouble looking for good stories that I had to branch out of my normal list and found this one yesterday, didn't read it then was saving it for work. read the entire story at work. LOVED IT. The 2nd sneak peek through me for a loop, but then I thought about it. hiccup wanted to find a way for Astrid to not have to pledge the oath. I'm going to assume there is some spell for rewriting the mind cause that's my first thought. I'm going to read the next one now bye and keep up the good work.

I usually prefer writing reviews at the end of the story but I feel I have to do this right now.

I have read weird stories. Lots of them. But this is the weirder. It's a kind of "How to train your dragon" mixed with "The lord of the ring" (a forge in a volcano, elves, gods...) and "Harry Potter" (that ring reminded me the Horrocruxes). I'm not complaining, it's just difficult to put everything together and furthermore if English is not your mother tongue.

I have to say that I prefer a more direct writing style, but I can bear it.

You really got me integrated. I wasn't expecting this story and now I'm quite excited about it

Ok so I finished the whole thing today, and I plan to finish all of book 2 there is tomorrow (it’s 1:30am).

I just had to leave a review after this chapter lol. Loving your story, although to be honest I almost stopped reading several times, when I read Toothless, and Hiccup speaking I groaned and went "not the Dragonese bit" however I kept going and was pleasantly surprised.
And when I started this chapter I instantly noticed the Inheritance series direction your fic went in, and while I admit I'm anxious about the direction the story will go from here I am excited as well.
So yeah I had my doubts at times however you continue to impress me.
PS. Rorans story especially during Eldest is my favourite part of the Inheritance series lol, love StrongHammer.

in my ten years of reading ff, i've never felt compelled to write a review (sh*tty i know) but seeing as how criminally under-reviewed this one is i logged into my acc for the first time in three years lol

i only just discovered this series the other day and i'm already all caught up :) cannot tell you how fast and hard i fell in love with this story and these characters i genuinely haven't been gripped by a fic like this in years!

so so SO excited for what's in store and thanking you to the ends of the earth for being consistent AND beefy with the updates (seriously idk how u do it, couldn't ever be me)

well the situation is simply a ruse to obstruct the all fathers plan by reworking the memories of Astrid and making it seem like she is not in a relationship with hiccup

I agree with nezo i was slightly confuesd then it it me though of course hiccup would make it seem like shes not with him to throuw odin off since he cant touch royalty

awwhh. no chance to bear stoick a heir. (yet?) Disappointed...

I actually got back from a trip to the Rockies a while ago: very cold but very pretty.

My first time reading through the chapter I actually had to reread the first section a few times and thought I was going crazy. Though as I continued to read I realized I did read it properly.

From there it wasn't hard to figure out something was done to Astrid's memory, with the truth being hidden or altered (I'm guessing through some lesser tsught "taboo" magic). Why? Well I think the contents of last chapter more than validate their reasons in the eye of a reader. I am curious as to what other precautions they've taken to prevent any leverage or truths getting out.

And as usual, I'm excited for the next chapter (whether that is a sneak peak or the new story).

I just finished reading this story in under 12 hours, and I must say that I cannot wait for the next part to come out. I absolutely loved the darkness in Hiccup, and I could see the influences of Inheritance and HttK, which also has been heavily influenced by Inheritance in my opinion. I would like to say that you are a good writer, and that this was an easy story to read and follow... I cannot wait to see Hiccup get angry again, and I loved Odin’s frustrations...

I was a bit confused at the start and thinking you didn't spell check and got the characters mixed up haha. But i see clearly now and it is very hiccup thing that he did there. Sneaky lad

I am actually not confused, im about 90% certian whats going on here, Astrid's memories are damning for Hiccup and Ilweran and also they expose a weakness to get to both Hiccup and by extension Ilweran, howerver, in the previous chaper Odin said that Ilweran is unthouchable cause he is prince of the elves, if she where betrothed to him it would also make her untouchable, so the way to go about it is to make it appear that she loves Ilweran by replacing her memories with fabricated ones, hiding the illigal things done by hiccup from the coucil and also cutting immediate ties from hiccup so odin cannot control him, how close am I on this explanatiin?

Game set let's see if it's a match. Hahaha
My theory. Astrid agreed to have her memories temporarily altered by hiccup. For the sake of avoiding the alfathers attitude.

Now my biggest theory. Either hiccup or Illy are the betrayers. Could go either way with how you've told the story this far. I'm quite excited to see what's next. And don't worry. Now that your storey has over 200 reviews I believe it will end up gaining a ton more traffic and explode. It's honestly very good.
