If your interested, please PM me! * Currently, I'm working on and posting: Grasping at the Sky I am simply a restless theory of mind. ~DROH PS. I'm probably too old to be doing this anymore but... ehhhh. Please feel free to come ask me questions about my works and catch sneak peaks over on Tumbler under the name FeatherFang. Recently Published Works: Tale of the Phantom - Destiny; Cayde-6 x FOC Author's notes: When I first started this story, it was simply to record the shenanigans that happened in-game with my friends that I played with. But like everything I write, I can't be happy with something unless there's a plot, so of course, while the silliness survived in some ways, the story also became so much more. TotP is a story where I decided to push my limits ar a writer and do something different than my comfort zone. Written completely in the third person AND not from the minds of either main character, but rather from the view of recorded video logs taken by Cayde's ghost, Sundance. This was an interesting and sometimes very challenging style for me as it left a great deal of mystery to what both Cayde and Skylar were thinking and rather let the reader catch on to implied messages. There are holes in the story - and I did that on purpose. Because the story is told in small video logs, Sundance doesn't record every moment of the two hunter's interactions with each other, but rather lets readers fill in those holes with what had been suggested throughout the piece. It was a fun, almost relaxing way of letting me write something and not having to express and record every moment and gave the story a feeling to it that felt somehow different from my other works. A large portion of this story was exploration, I wanted to really focus on things in the Destiny universe that were either very vaguely covered, or left as open plot holes. I also wanted to give it a more realistic spin, playing with the idea of what would the world be like without game mechanics like health bars and unlimited amounts of exotic weapons and armor. It is also important to note that there is no 'special, unstoppable guardian' in my story, but rather there is a group of guardians that all do different amazing things in the story. While I deeply enjoyed this style of writing, I don't know if it will transfer well to the next to installments of the series, so be prepared for some shifting to happen from book to book. Grasping at the Sky - Naruto Shippuden; Gaara x FOC Author's notes: GatS became a pet project of mine nearly seven years ago when like with many things, I got fed up with what I was finding to read and thus had to write something to fix the void in my entertainment. I'll be honest, I don't actually like 50% of what the story Naruto is, that being said, I loved the other 50% to pieces, which mostly included side characters, background lore, and well, ninjas, cause who doesn't like ninjas? Gaara was always and will always be my favorite character do to the fact that he is adorable, BUT also has heavy character growth which just makes me a happy person. Over the next two years, before I started publishing this story, it went through several different re-writes and all-out changes to the name, story, characters, and plot. Then, I knew what I wanted to do. It always bothered the hell out of me that the story of Naruto glazed over a lot of very serious topics and never really talked about the fact that this is world build of child soldiers. I really wanted to buckle down and dig deep into believable characters who would deal with the world around them realistically, which is how in the end, Kira was born. I put in hard subjects like PTSD and near torcher because these things either happened in original source material, or that just didn't happen and really, it would have happened. I wanted to give people real-world parallels to grasp onto, which is where the Scorpion Section came from (SS for short), which is actually a Nazi reference. I also, because of the nature of the paring knew this would be the slowest slow burn I've ever written because I was going to do these characters justice. Gaara was going to be in character and i spent hours on figuring out how I would depict him. I still do even now as I finish this story off, he is a mirrorless character that I would never OOC because it would ruin the story. It is a joy to write to him and I feel accomplished in knowing that my readers feel I got him just write. Upcoming stories: not posted, unconfirmed. Message me if you would like to read it!
