OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been
with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth
records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing
when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't
always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than
you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing
regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual
harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using
mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student,
only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that
they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It
declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to
administer Calpol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform
parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband;
churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their
victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar
in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize
that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and
was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife,
Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To
Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized
he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the
majority and do nothing.

Kingdom Hearts - Xion: Rebirth Challenge

Challenge summary:

In the story that this challenge is about is that instead of returning to Sora upon dying, Xion is sent back in time and is reborn through a normal human birth at Radiant Garden... as Kairi's older sister! I recommend having Xion born fourteen years before the events of Birth by Sleep if you want her to play a major role in that saga, but that is optional. Another thing that I would like to add is that Xion's name will be spelled 'Shion' in the story.

Obtaining the Keyblade:

How Shion obtains the Keyblade and learns how to use it is completely up to you. However, I will give you two default scenarios just in case you can't come up with one.

Scenario #1.) Shion is somehow discovered as someone that can potentially wield the Keyblade by either Master Xehanort or Master Eraqus before the events of Birth by Sleep.

Scenario #2.) Shion tries to help Aqua protect Kairi from the Unversed during that small event in Birth by Sleep, and the end result will be Aqua putting Shion through the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony, and if you have no idea what that is then look at the scene where Terra meets Riku, what Terra does with Riku is the Keyblade Inheritance Ceramony. How Shion will learn how to use the Keyblade however is completely up to you. The possibilities can range from my original idea of her learning from Yen Sid all the way to teaching herself.

Scenario #3.) Shion does not become a Keyblade wielder and instead learns how to defend herself and the people she cares about through other means. If you choose this route, feel free to get as creative as you like. Magic? Swords? A little of both? Anything goes so long as Shion still remains firmly sided on the Light Side of the morality scale.

Shion's Keyblade design:

It must be original or one of the ones that I made for her in my story, 'A Second Chance', but originality is strongly encouraged.

Details concerning Kairi and Shion's relationship as sisters:

Shion: She will know that Kairi is her sister, but her behavior is up to you. She could be an overprotective big sister, an aloof one, anything goes so long as she is not abusive. All I ask is that you keep her character consistent with whatever your initial characterization will be.

Kairi: She will remember that she has a sister when she lands on Destiny Islands, and remembers what she looks like, but can't remember Shion's name.

Note: Shion cannot go to Destiny Islands with Kairi when she disappears from Radiant Garden, that would ruin the drama of two sisters trying to find each other.

Pairing guidelines:

I'm gonna try to make this short and sweet, first off... there will be no homosexuality or bisexuality, are we clear on this? Also, Sora must be paired with Kairi (the pairing is so obviously canon that it isn't funny!), and anyone that you wish to pair together must have a maximum age gap of 6 years, and preferably from the same world (Keyblade wielders are exempt from the same world rule if you wish to pair them with someone from Radiant Garden, Destiny Islands, or Twilight Town). Also, villains are NOT allowed to be paired with anyone that is not a villain! Even then I would not recommend putting too much focus on the pairing. Some sketchy ones that I may allow to slide would be stuff involving Organization members that regained their hearts in Dream Drop Distance.

Other guidelines:

Adding unnecessary details that are not relevant to the story are discouraged, and the story must follow the Kingdom Hearts storyline, but who you wish to have traveling with whom and where is completely up to you. However, the majority of the story must follow Shion since she will be the main character. Also, Shion is allowed to have flashbacks of her previous life from time to time, but this is optional. Other than what has already been explained feel free to do whatever you want with the story! You can have Shion get trapped in the Realm of Darkness for a short period of time for all I care, but having her stuck there for the same amount of time as Aqua in the canon story would probably be a bad idea. Oh, and I'd also like to add that adding OC's is discouraged, but if you wish to add an OC then all I ask is that they be minor characters that barely impact the plot of the story.
