Dang, Zack and Cloud sure had a tough time keeping Chaos under control. But at least they managed to do just that, at least for now. As for Cait and his investigation... Uh oh, look who's baa-aack. Why do I have thing feeling that things are going to get ugly very quickly? Keep it up Irish-Brigid!

Hm. Cloud's hearing... mutters? Voices he can't quite make out? I'm wondering if it has anything to do with what's going on in Midgar. As Aerith says, he's got a lot of mako inside him. He could/maybe sense anything that effects the Lifestream, right?

So Kunsel's ready to try the cleansing. A part of me is glad, the rest is terrified. I'm rather fond of that book-loving SOLDIER, after all. And (snicker) is there a fight in the works with Yuffie over him? But she does have a point; he IS sick. How is the taint going to react to the cleansing?

Poor Reeve. Working so hard for the people while workers are disappearing. Cait Sith is an inventive way to figure out just what's going on. But what news does the animatronic have? And what's with Cloud's eerie comment and behavior?

Or is that even HIS behavior? Ah... the questions you've unleashed!

Yikes, people disappearing to the point that Cait Sith was sent to investigate. And now Kunsel has decided to go through with the cleansing, and Yuffie's worried! Cloud's hearing different kinds of voices in his head now, wonder what it is this time? At least it's not Sephorith, I hope. Keep at it, my friend! And Merry Christmas!

So there we have it: Yuffie's got a thing for Kunsel! And Aerith might actually end up having a protege!
Short but sweet: plenty of exposition! The age gap between those two might cause some issues, particularly Yuffie's weird way of caring about people. That romance is going to be even more interesting to watch now that Aerith and Zack are already married(although I eagerly await their being able to finally settle into their lives together, and you know they'll have some interesting children).

Greetings, friend. It's always a pleasure to see an update from you, especially after so long. Glad to see you've returned,

I find it interesting that you would incorporate elements from Dirge of Cerberus at this juncture (I didn't expect to see any at all, come to think of it, but it is a pleasant surprise). It seems like everything is moving at quite a brisk pace; if memory serves, it wasn't that long ago everyone was dealing Sephiroth's incarnate form. I feel like I ought to know the answer to this question, but what changed between canon and this story that Chaos and the Remnants feel they have to move so quickly? Or is that a secret to be revealed later?

But what I really wanted to gush about was the sequence with Cloud and Tifa. I'm something of a sap when it comes to chaste, fluffy romantic events like this, and that bit was sweet as candy. The fact that they haven't gotten the chance to be around each other like for so long makes it much more poignant, I think. It was certainly worth the wait. Not to mention it gave Cloud a bit more incentive to speak, which might be something of a psychological balm to him - someone as disturbed as he is (in canon, anyway; he seems a bit better adjusted here) needs to engage with people who care about him, and who better than Tifa to provide an ear?

Once again, marvelous work, my friend, and I look forward to the next update.

Oh, poor Vincent. After all he went through, and now he suggests getting locked up to stop Chaos from awakening? Not fair, universe!

He's not the easiest of people to deal with, but Zack is right there as his friend, looking for options instead of tossing Vincent into a cave and sealing the door. And Cloud actually made a comment! But can I say I'm worried about Kunsel and his headache? Negative energy is right!

Oh, that picnic. Oh, sweet Cloud. Tifa, don't let go of that man, he's priceless...

I wouldn't worry too much about the pace of Cloud and Tifa. Maybe if Zack and Aerith were each giving them a nudge, things might go faster, but if I recall, the newlyweds' wedding night hasn't even happened yet, and how long have they been married for now? Omega Weapon is pretty much a giant cockblocker for everyone involved. :P

Your work is always worth the wait, and I'm still here and reading. I've been here from the beginning, and will be here till the end. Good work as always, and about time Cloud and Tifa had some alone time. Till the next update, your ever faithful reader, Ken.

Now we have knowledge concerning Omega and the protomateria. And of course, we have a highly adorable scene involving an awkward Cloud and Tifa in a picnic at Cosmo Canyon. It's about time these two made a move! If someone did lock them in a closet, I'd suspect it would be Zack and Aerith (along with maybe Denzel and Marlene). Keep it up!
