I assure you this; one day this avid writer will write fanfiction! She just doesn't know when... It has been updated!! Yes! I don't sound like a stuck up brat!... No wait I still do. Sorry... Name: Faith A. R. (Literally, my initials are FAR) But you may refer to me as Fei, Faith, or FideiAvi. lol My closest friends will call me Phil/Fil sometimes. Age: 18 Heritage: Filipino! (Born and Raised in America) Isn't it nice to have a little both east and west, eh? ] Favorite Activities: Writing stories, Drawing, Creating Manga, Imagining Stories, Conversing w/ Friends, Most things Internet Related. More little things I should let you know about me: As much as I like to write and create stories, I don't hold reading in the same regard. Most stories just don't grab my attention; that's why I create my own stuff. Despite a dislike of some characters in certain stories, I DON'T LIKE CHARACTER BASHING. No author's creation deserves such damnation. I'm an opinionated, strong-willed brat; but I rarely assert my opinions on others unless they wish for it. (Trust me, there are those who literally ask.) If you ask for my opinion on something, don't expect a straight answer. Expect a well developed thesis with lengthy reasoning. I like to make sure that one has the full grasp of what I want to convey. I have serious OCD issues when it comes to writing and other story creations in general. It's sad, I'm not even that talented for myself. XD God is the awesome. His book is the Word and Law. Jesus IS Risen. He loves you and me. Now quote John 3:16, so I know you've got it. I'm actually more happy and random than this entire profile biography implies. This bio is more formal than most things you'll hear me say or see me IM with. I have SERIOUS ISSUES with dubbing. I'm a major Funimation fangirl, and I don't think VIZ or 4Kids do justice to the animes they dub. Yes, I'm horribly biased when it comes to this which you will see in the later things I've typed up. I'm warning you now, I'm not pretty when I rant. I'll add more to this as time goes on. ] I'm a critical analyst when it comes to writing. I. AM. PICKY. 1. OOC's are distasteful. If one writes a character, I believe they should stay true to that character. This includes over-doing their personality. It is my belief that fanfiction senarios should fit the character's personality, and not character's personality should be twisted to fit one's fantasy. 2. AU's aren't that bad. Some people say AU and they mean they an alternate ending to a certain episode or something. I have a hard time coping with serious AU's. Like a guy in canon is a crime fighter with super powers away from the world we know, but in the fanfics, he's a bartender who has absolutely nothing to do with crime fighting or super powers. Doesn't even acknowledge it. They're not bad, I just have a difficult time picturing them completely outside their realm of creation unless the author mentions the creation in the AU. 3. OC's that are main characters and paired with a main protagonist in a story make me back-page. Sorry guys. I'm also critical as to what kind of stories I read and what TV shows I watch -- and anything else that goes with theatrical media. NOTE THAT THESE 'RULES' AREN'T THINGS I ENFORCE ON OTHER READERS. THESE ARE ALL MY OPINION AND WHAT INTERESTS ME. My ideal stories must: 1. Must have a well drawn plot. Anything under this number will not work if the plot isn't thought through. You can have excellent characters, but the way your story is lined out will make its fate cursed and inevitable. Timing is EVERYTHING in a story. 2. Have a strong female lead. I don't mean a tsundere type, but just someone who's strong willed. Feminist, maybe, but not over doing that either. Riza Hawkeye & Kate Beckett are perfect examples. 3. Have realism. No I doesn't have to be a slice of life story. I like fantasy a lot, but the way characters act should be -- well-- believable and their situation should also be -- well -- believable as well. 4. HAVE LIMITED PITY PARTIES. Oh my apologies to the good Cinderella stories that I may never read. I despise a story where the character waits to be rescued as they wallow in their own dark corner of woe. I've seen it too many times. Stop it with the evil mom already people. Not all moms are evil. Not all pretty girls are good and helpless. Not all third parties are the devil that many perceive them to be. There's a time for everything, but don't over use it. Have some backbone, take life by the reigns and do something about it. (Can't you tell how much feeling I have in this particular number?) Oh speaking of third parties... 5. Have Realistic Villains/Third Parties. I categorize both of them under the same number because I think they are seen in the same light. Just because third party girls likes main guy doesn't mean she's evil. She doesn't deserve bashing. Villains are typically shown to have no souls. Quit it. If the villain is psychotic, please just state so, so the story will seem a little more realistic. If a character is to be believable, they should be dynamic. Why is that villain evil? Why does that third party character have hate in their heart? Were they raised to be selfish? This goes with any character. If one wants their story to be 3dimensional/believable, their reader should relate to that character emotionally. 6. Have a moral theme. I must be F. Scott Fitzgerald fan for saying this, ha ha. IMHO, all good stories have a theme. This theme should be inspiring to the reader and be able to make that reader ponder about the story. (And yet, I like Edgar Allen Poe. Aren't I a hypocrite? -- Least he makes me think...) 7. Should not have romance as it's main genre to the point where it's overbearing. I guess I'm not a chick flick type of girl. Har Har; romantic comedies capture me because of the comedy, though. Typically in television shows with a plot line, I think romance should be kept as the main secondary genre. In a shonen fanfiction, say Bleach or Yugioh, adding romance as the main drama automatically makes the characters in the show OOC. Don't deny this, you've seen it happen countless of times. Though, if romance were added as the sub-genre to the main genre, adventure, the story becomes a bit more in-tune with it's original; thus, it captures the reader's already in-placed vision of who the characters are. In original dramas, say Castle, romance plays a big role in the story already. It's ridiculous to even think of taking that away from the plot! BUT, placing romance as the head of Castle would deteriorate the intensity of adventure because the leads would be focusing on their relationship when they clearly have a job to do; thus making them OOC again. Am I making sense? Take everything in moderation. 8. Romance is progressive and a game of cat and mouse. Ah, my ideal romantic plot: Both characters grow to know each other and become very close and develop a bond. Party A realizes his/hers (in my opinion, usually his) feelings and boldly pursues/attempts to seduce Party B. Har, har, har. I think after reading this, you will be able to see why I prefer the pairings that I do. (Ex: Ichigo x Rukia, Robin x Raven, Beast Boy x Raven, Castle x Beckett, Kyouya x Haruhi, Usui x Misaki, Seto x Anzu, Atem/Yami x Anzu, etc.) I must be a sucker for strong guys and strong women who are both stubborn. ;) I was a fan of Pride & Prejudice, after all; along with most of Jane Austin's writings. To Be Continued... The following section defends my favorite characters whom I think have been unjustified in the fandom universe. This is my chance to get back at the character-bashers. Be forewarned, if you're one of them, you may want to skip this section... 00 Bleach Rukia Kuchiki: She is a strong willed character with wisdom. Viz doesn't do her justice when they make her seem like the mentor who screams the obvious. She's more to than that. She's courteous to her practically everyone around her and she has a back bone. She is the type of character to place her nakama ABOVE HER even when she is at the brink of death. This is referenced countless times in the manga. Ex: Constantly telling Ichigo to save himself in the Soul Society arc & practically crawling to Inoue's rescue when she was dying after her fight with Aaroniero in the Hueco Mundo arc She's NOT a Damsel in Distress like bashers make her to be. She doesn't call Ichigo 'baka' all the time, nor does she uselessly smacks him upside the head UNLESS he needs it. She's not some kind of 'boy', don't you see what Kubo dresses her in? Read the manga to truly understand her character. Orihime Inoue: I'm going to admit this here and now. I didn't like Inoue in the beginning of Bleach because I found her to be helpless and a potential cry-baby. (See my rules of story sect.) As the manga and anime moved along in plot, both of these have been confirmed at one point or another; but that's not all there is to Inoue. At times, she is selfless. Ex: Healing Grimmjow, Loly, and Menoly. This usually happens though when she is not 'blinded' by Ichigo's overwhelming sense of heroism. (Yes Ichigo, you have a hero complex sometimes. I'm not sure if it's comparable to America's hero complex... Maybe your's is just angstier. LOL) Inoue brings a sense of sweet, loving innocence to Bleach. I don't think it would be the same without the beautiful, lovable airhead. 00 Yu-Gi-Oh! Anzu Mazaki/Téa Gardner: I get it; over abundance of 'Friendship' speeches kills a person. Now don't you think that goes for EVERY 'Destiny' & 'Identity' phrase Yami has ever spoken? I'm going to poke my piece at dub translations; because honestly, half of me despises them for it. I usually blame incorrect perception of a character base on the translation of that character, much like what voice actors do with Rukia, Ichigo, and Inoue in the Viz dub of Bleach. People, do you read your mangas and know your character? (looks at Johnny Yong Bosch's interviews) Uh-huh... I thought not. Anyway, Anzu is consistently placed in this annoying light. She's not a whore, slut, annoying bitch, or whatever name you've come up for her. Her role is to be an encourager for her group. Hence friendship speech. Surely, that rather annoying stalker crush in the beginning of the manga progressed into something more in written time. She clearly cares about her friends and tries to help them in the ways she can. Sometimes I consider her an Orihime Inoue of Yu-Gi-Oh! with a more confident, strong-willed personality. The following section lists the pairings I would, more or less, read fanfictions about; and am willing to give an explanation on. My complete list of favored pairings is MUCH LONGER, and I'm not really all that willing to explain EVERY SINGLE ONE. :) I Love the following Animes/Mangas & their pairings: 00 Bleach Ichigo x Rukia Ishida x Orihime Byakuya x Rukia Hitsugaya x Rukia Ulquiorra x Orihime 00 Ouran High School Host Club Kyouya x Haruhi Kyouya x Tamaki Kyouya x Kaoru 00 Hetalia- Axis Powers America x England France x America France x Jeanne d' Arc America x Japan Holy Roman Empire x Chibitalia 00 Yu-Gi-Oh!
