This is an alternate ending to season 7, episode 10. In this version Jay and Hailey get to have their moment. (One-Shot)

Set post 7x10. The missing scenes we didn't get between Hailey and Jay when she drove him home, and how she helped him through his first night/morning after leading to 7x11. Would Hailey's almost confession be brought up again? Slight AU Upstead (as it deviates a little from the rest of the season), but all the feels regardless! A two-shot to get you through till season 8 – enjoy!

All Jay Halstead can do is sit at his partner's bedside, waiting for her to wake up, to recover, as he tries not to drown in guilt. But with Hailey's injuries preventing her from speaking, or hearing Jay's apologies, how was she going to let him know it wasn't his fault? That he saved her? He wasn't guilty, but that didn't mean Jay wouldn't feel like it was, anyway. Upstead.

Finally, Vanessa Rojas has enough of Hailey Upton and Jay Halstead not admitting their feelings for each other and decides to do something about it. An Upstead one-shot

Hailey never noticed how many women Jay was friends with until one day at a softball tournament. No angst, just fun! My inspiration for this was Jay season 1&2 when he had a bit of a reputation for being a play boy. It is so different from the mature Jay that Hailey has always known and I wanted to play with that a little.

Based off of 7x18 and 7x20, where Hailey has gone to New York to work with the FBI task force, and how that will effect her partnership with Jay. More Hailey-centric than my other fics, but still plenty of Upstead moments.

"plus, why would he get back together with erin when he's clearly in love with you?" - prompt: erin is back in town and asks jay out for drinks. hailey isn't sure how she feels about it but finds herself at molly's throwing back shots with will halstead (he totally ships upstead)

"alright, so answer me this. hypothetically, if hailey was to go home with, oh, i don't know, severide or something, would you be completely okay with that?" - prompt: the whole gang is at molly's having a great time until will halstead corners jay about his relationship with hailey and advises him to take his girl home.

One thing about grief: it's not going away, but it helps to have a partner, a friend, by your side. What would have happened if Hailey only went drinking, nothing more, with Adam, and Jay needed her shoulder to lean on? Based on 6x02. May or may not turn into romance depends on the show! For now it's a friendship story.

All Hailey wants is to put a pillow over her head, and make it all go away. All Jay wants is to help her.

Hailey forgot how to breathe for a moment, because of course when the virus came to Chicago she'd have to be holed up in her apartment with her partner, Jay Halstead…who happened to forget what a shirt was. Yeah, this should be fun. [Upstead one-shot where Hailey ends up quarantined with Jay – & what they may or may not do with their free time].

"get your ass back in this bed because you are not sleeping on the couch." - prompt: during one of chicago's coldest winter nights, the power and heat in hailey's building is out. jay humbly offers his apartment - until his power goes out as well.

"if i were to go down like this, stuck in this elevator, i wouldn't mind if the last thing i saw was your face." - prompt: hailey and jay are taking an elevator ride when chicago is hit with an earthquake.

"thank you for saving me." "you saved yourself." - prompt: in 6x14, jay finds hailey covered in blood, chained to a pole, and with her thighs squeezing the life out of her abductor.

"i thought you were dead. i heard gun shots, and you were lying on the ground and there was blood and i thought you were dead." - prompt: in 6x02 after jay gets shot, instead of leaving with adam, hailey can't seem to walk away from her partner.

"i love you. i mean, i already knew i loved you because you're my partner and i trust you with my life, so of course i love you. but i think i'm in love with you. like falling in love with you. as in, i think about you all the time and i worry about you whenever you're not there." - prompt: my take on upstead post jay's shooting.

"you lied to me and went behind my back with angela! you got kidnapped and you got shot and i thought i was going to lose you!" - prompt: jay is finally back to full duty but he can't get over angela and her kid. hailey finally snaps, utterly consumed by his selfishness of jumping in blind, getting hurt and tearing her heart apart in the process.
