all she wants is a cup of hot coffee to get her through this next phase of studying; instead, her cell phone ends up cracked, her textbook lands on the floor with a thud, her cup of steaming hot coffee seeps through her cable knit sweater and she's crying in the middle of a university coffeeshop.

"jay, you ride with kim. you guys are going to be partners for a while." - prompt: jay recovers from his gun-shot wound & is back to full duty. hailey requests a new partner & he has no idea why.

"plus, why would he get back together with erin when he's clearly in love with you?" - prompt: erin is back in town and asks jay out for drinks. hailey isn't sure how she feels about it but finds herself at molly's throwing back shots with will halstead (he totally ships upstead)

"alright, so answer me this. hypothetically, if hailey was to go home with, oh, i don't know, severide or something, would you be completely okay with that?" - prompt: the whole gang is at molly's having a great time until will halstead corners jay about his relationship with hailey and advises him to take his girl home.

"get your ass back in this bed because you are not sleeping on the couch." - prompt: during one of chicago's coldest winter nights, the power and heat in hailey's building is out. jay humbly offers his apartment - until his power goes out as well.

"you got me?" "always." - prompt: hailey somehow gets roped in to attending her ex-fiancé's wedding and there's no way in hell she's going solo. hailey requests jay's help as her pretend-boyfriend and he discovers he is incredibly attracted to angry hailey.

"if i were to go down like this, stuck in this elevator, i wouldn't mind if the last thing i saw was your face." - prompt: hailey and jay are taking an elevator ride when chicago is hit with an earthquake.

"thank you for saving me." "you saved yourself." - prompt: in 6x14, jay finds hailey covered in blood, chained to a pole, and with her thighs squeezing the life out of her abductor.

"i thought you were dead. i heard gun shots, and you were lying on the ground and there was blood and i thought you were dead." - prompt: in 6x02 after jay gets shot, instead of leaving with adam, hailey can't seem to walk away from her partner.

"i love you. i mean, i already knew i loved you because you're my partner and i trust you with my life, so of course i love you. but i think i'm in love with you. like falling in love with you. as in, i think about you all the time and i worry about you whenever you're not there." - prompt: my take on upstead post jay's shooting.

"you lied to me and went behind my back with angela! you got kidnapped and you got shot and i thought i was going to lose you!" - prompt: jay is finally back to full duty but he can't get over angela and her kid. hailey finally snaps, utterly consumed by his selfishness of jumping in blind, getting hurt and tearing her heart apart in the process.
