Hey. Pen-name's Sandstone. I'm a RPer, who kinda drifted over to fanfiction.

Anyway, my specialty's ocs. Preferably fantasy (favorite of mine). Call it a remnant of my RPing, but I dislike using pre-established personalities. It's more fun to make a NEW character who's reactions can go anywhere I want. Well, up until they're established, then I include the other, well-known characters.

Beyond that, my attention varies. I often begin to type out sketches of what I want to do, then write myself into a wall. It's common for me to curse myself blue when that happens. Not all my projects here will be listed, especially if I just wrote them up to get rid of a plot bunny that would never work out, and they're just five pages long.

Author's status: Due to a mix of work, and several other things, my time is constrained, and I simply can't write as much as I would like.

Current projects:

All fics are to be considered suspended, as my writing style has changed.

Sitting in the wings:

2 Worm stories - one focusing on character interactions, using (censored) as a conflict / issue, and the other with TINO as a Siren. No pairings planned, in one case she's too traumatized by (censored), in the other, she's a 'gun wielding lunatic'.

Pokemon Alola - Sun/Moon, with the protagonist... well, still being worked on. Ideas are thick. Protag will be a lesbian though.

Plans:

Write a yuri story, if only to counter the massive clogging of yaoi stories that I keep on finding. Sheesh.

Pet Peeves:

Horrible spelling / grammar stories. Fanfiction.net offers a free word processor, yet authors do not utilize the resources that are available to them - or just using google docs or Libreoffice. A basic grammar check would eliminate a lot of headaches, and lower the amount of complaining reviews. Adding onto that, misspelling locations / exc from cannon when the information could just be looked up on wikipedia or another web resource that would only take... five minutes to find? Here's a more extreme example: I've seen Ichiraku Ramen spelled Ikachu Ramen. And to check the spelling, it took me about twenty seconds. Ten to enter 'Naruto' into a wikipedia search (I have Firefox just for that lazy reason), and another ten to hit the 'Ichiraku Ramen Bar' link, so I don't have to flip between tabs. The author who made that spelling mistake had... hmm... four reviews? that corrected spelling of various things like that. Yes, there are slipups sometimes, heaven knows I've made my shares of mistakes (I've mixed up New Bark Town and Littleroot Town), but I at least make an effort.

Review whoring: I know people like praise. Frankly, I'm guilty of that just as much as anyone. But authors who stop writing just BECAUSE they don't get reviews...

What's with the Sandstone stuff? Simpler than you'd think. I happened to like the card Sandstone Warrior in the card game Magic the Gathering, and used it as a nickname. It became habit, and I've used the nick ever since.

It kinda fits. I'm a composite of a lot of things - writer, RPer, gamer, dreamer, anime nut, scholar - but never one thing for sure.

Ideas:

I'd like to throw out an idea that I've had on my mind, but I lack the skill to write... a Naruto fanfic, actually. Call this a challenge, maybe. Main idea: somehow, Naruto becomes a Warlock (Dungeons and Dragons) just before his third graduation exam. Failing the Bushin exam due to his Eldritch energies messing with the Bushin jutsu, he believes the scam Muzuki gives him, as per cannon. Once he gets the scroll, and studies it, he manages Kage Bushin, but with a spare bit of time, finds out exactly what he is - a human with demonic ancestors. Go on from there on your own tangent...
