![]() Author has written 1 story for Yu Yu Hakusho. I suppose since I've posted my first story, I should put up some stuff about me. I, like many people on this site, love writing (I know, big surprise). I'm often seen staring off into space, thinking of my own worlds. That's right, I said my own worlds. I write more than just fanfiction. Anyway, my main problem comes with how lazy I am. It'll take some motivation to get me to do something, as some people who've already met me know. That is why I'm hoping posting here will make me want to write more. It's a bit of an experiment, and I hope it works out. Yeah, back on topic. So, besides my laziness, I also have a hard time keeping myself on one subject, so I often will flit from story to story, which makes it hard for me to finish anything, as I keep focusing on everything. Still, writing is my passion, and I hope to get a few things published as I get older (and not just on the Internet). Besides writing, I love the usual: movies, music, and video games. I don't like TV too much, except for Supernatural and a few other ones. Like most writers (and people on this site) I love reading. Books, manga, stuff on the Internet, I read them all. I can be a bit picky with my stories, though. I mostly read fantasy/science fiction, but even then, I won't read just anything. It has to catch my attention, and usually it has to be somewhat original, or if not original now, the first of its kind when it was written. I will not get into all of my particular favorites, but my loves are Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Yu Yu Hakusho, Avatar the Last Airbender, and Firefly/Serenity. Don't think those are all that I love, but these are the ones that have a "special place in my heart," as it were. A few general rules for my stories. I don't usually have my revolving point being on romance, though there are often subplots for it. I also (unlike most writers) use romance as a tool to further the plot and character development, not just because I'm "in love" with the character and want my OC to end up with him. As stated, I will often have OCs in my stories, if only because I find them fun to write. I have no tolerance for Mary-Sues, though, and put in a lot more time than most writers to avoid them. I do try to be scarce with my original characters, as well, as I know it can get annoying if the entire story has no canon in it. I like reviewing stories, so if you want to ask me to do so, I might, but you have to be ready to defend your story. If I find holes, I will point them out, but I'll do it in a nice way. I give constructive criticism. That means that I will tell you what you've done wrong, but I'll do it in a way that helps you in becoming a better writer. I do not flame, as I find flames pathetic wastes of time. I believe that if you want to point out flaws, do it to make the author better at what they're doing, not just to be mean. Still, even if you want me to read, if I don't know the material very well, or if it just isn't my style, I might not read it. Also, if you want to know about Mary-Sues and how to avoid writing them, you can ask me that as well. I've had my own problems with them, so I usually know how to get away from that type of writing. I think that's about it. I may get back to writing this later, but don't count on it. ~LectaElf~ (Oh, and read sashax13's parodies. She's one of my friends and her stuff is hilarious. Just look in my favorites section. And while you're there, you can look at my other favorite stories and authors.) My Story: |
