Time to update the profile...

I am a 42 year old stay-at-home mom who enjoys reading Harry Potter fanfiction. After reading a few HGSS fanfictions on here and other sites, I became hooked. I've just recently decided to take a stab at writing. I haven't written anything creative since college...so almost twenty years. I'm sure I am very rusty. Hopefully I am getting a little bit better with each story I write.

*Update 6/29/15... A Change In Circumstances is on indefinite hiatus. I apologize for this, but it is what it is. Lack of creative motivation, lack of time (with 3 kids), and loss of my beta, along with unforeseen circumstances. I hope to eventually get back in a groove and get to it, but it won't be right now. Sorry.*

A little about me...

I have 3 kids, and my daughter has Snape's eyes. I kid you not. They are such a dark brown, they look black. It is almost startling, especially considering hubby has green/hazel eyes and mine are grey. Maybe all this SSHG reading when I was pregnant with her was to blame...((shrugs)).

My youngest son is autistic, so that is a big cause of mine.

I have a degree in biology, and I was a zookeeper before I had kids. I miss it.

My son recently talked me into joining Pottermore, and I was sorted into Slytherin. So I guess that tells you a bit about my personality. And my son was very disappointed to be sorted into Hufflepuff. I am not on there too often, but if you want to 'friend' me (or whatever term they use), my name is...

I only write HGSS, but will read HGLM or HGDM. I won't read anything that puts Hermione with Ron. I just don't think they are suited for each other (sorry JKR). But I am not a fan of Ron bashing, either. I won't read Severus/Lily fics either. I think she was an unforgiving cow (I'd use another word, but I don't want ff to have a reason to kick me off).

My list of recommended stories on FF is too long to post, but check out my favorite authors if you need inspiration. They all have some amazingly awesome stories on here.

I now have a livejournal account...same name as here. I will try to keep it updated with any information related to my stories (delays, updates, etc.). So check there as well for information.

Okay, so I just re-read my first fic, Like a Sister,...and, eek, I didn't realise I had so many grammatical errors I missed and Britpicking 'oops'. So if you haven't read it yet, keep that in mind. I do believe I have improved since then, and one of these days, I might go back and fix some of the mistakes.

One Shots/ Drabbles (everything is SSHG unless otherwise noted)

The Problem with Dueling was my first 'fluff' ff. I don't write smut or lemons...I have nothing against it, and I will read it if it is written well. I am not good at writing it, though, and your imagination would be better than anything I could write.

Misjudged was a little plot bunny that just wouldn't let me go. I have always been fascinated with Petunia Dursley, and feel like she was a character that could have been more developed by JKR. She knew both Lily and Severus, and I feel there are many stories that could be told about either of those relationships. I would like to think she eventually regreted how she had treated them, and Harry as well. So this is just a little one shot about that.

Undeserved Detention was the first story I ever wrote, and I wrote it about 6 months ago. I finally cleaned it up a bit and decided to post it. It is a bit longer than most drabbles, but very short for a story. It has just the tiniest bit of a twist, so hopefully you will enjoy it.

When Sara Smiled was another little story that I just had to write. It is a sweet little story about Severus' and Hermione's daughter. Sappy, I know, but I just had to write it.

Tall Tales was another one of those plot bunnies that just grabbed me and took hold. Amazing what pops into your head when you are trying to write your chapter stories. A drabble about Hermione and Severus on the beach.

Out of the Mouths of Babes a oneshot that is *ahem* somewhat personally inspired. It is amazing the truths that come out of the mouths of your children, and Severus and Hermione find out first hand when they are visiting with the Potters. Light hearted, fun, and a bit of innuendo.

But I Knew...my first attempt at a marriage law fic, but with a twist. It is also my first attempt at a first person narrative. From the point of view of Poppy Pomfrey.

You Have Your Father's Eyes...another plot bunny that I couldn't resist. Sad and angsty, conversations between Harry and Hermione, only brief mentions of SSHG.

Meeting Eileen...Hermione meets Severus's mother for the very first time, and the experience is nothing like she had expected. Another idea forced on me by my muse...

Chapter Stories (also SSHG unless otherwise noted)

Like a Sister was my first multi-chapter ff. It is a tale of friendship between Hermione and an OC, and an eventual romance. It takes a while before the romance comes in, so be patient.

will only let you choose one pairing in the description section, and it is an eventual romance between HG and SS, but if I could more accurately describe this story it would be HG/OC (friendship), then HG/SS (romance).

Noli Umquam Oblivisci (translates to 'Never Forget') It is pretty much a tale of the problems that happen as a result of drinking too much. The immediate consequences as well as unforeseen ones down the road.

Prisoner 5273 It will be much darker than anything I have written so far. It will be rated 'M' for strong language and violent situations, but it won't be too explicit since I want to stay within guidlines. I don't think anything has been done quite like this before, if it has...I've never read it or heard about it.

A Change In Circumstances (WIP). Newest WIP, and about 1/3 finished and betaed. I will try to update every couple of weeks or so. Hermione Granger's life is upended when she goes to Australia to retrieve her parents after the war. What she finds is nothing at all like what she expected. Post DH, ignores Epilogue. Minor character deaths.
