Author has written 6 stories for StarTrek: Enterprise. 15 September 2011: Just added a Star Trek Enterprise forum, dedicated to issuing/accepting writing challenges - feel free to visit! http://www.fanfiction.ws/myforums/Seacook/1754790/ 16 November 2012: Forum Update 13 February 2017: Forum Update /topic/97876/160186342/1/What-s-That-Called STORY UPDATE 07 February 2013 Have altered and reposted chapter 8 of First Sacred Duty due to errors plus a missing scene... Story Summaries Still in the planning stages: 28 November 2008: Have been a visitor to this site innumerable times but only just recently decided to jump in and sign up. Am hoping to get a couple "ST: Enterprise" stories far enough along to put up before too much longer—am not new to writing stuff but am new to the idea that any of my stuff might actually be post-worthy. Am not just a Trekker (or Trekkie, if you prefer); I also enjoy Diagnosis Murder and CSI, and hope to get a chance over the winter to actually get enough writing done to perhaps post some stories in those categories as well. So many plot bunnies, so little time...sigh. I'm hoping that there are enough patient, helpful souls out there to make this a pleasant experience for me, and I hope also to weave some stories that the fanfic community will find worthy of attention... 05 December: Thanks to all who've read the beginning of "Accidental Parent". Let me reassure all you "torment the Brit" fans that, though I haven't got it on paper yet—and yes, I'm afraid I write most stuff "long-hand" and then type it up—Malcolm's gonna go through some unpleasantness before it's all over. And really, would we want it any other way? I didn't think so ;-) 17 December: Thanks to all who've reviewed so far! I wasn't sure whether I'd wind up sticking around so held off on putting any personal info on my profile page, but guess now is as good a time as any...I'm a housekeeper/petsitter who is old enough to remember going to Star Trek conventions and encountering fanfiction in pamphlet form. (I can't be the only one who remembers fanzines, can I?) Though my computer skills are adequate I'm not tech-saavy by any means. (Which reminds me—if I have a tech question and get no response from the site, may I throw myself on your collective mercy?) 16 January 2009: Hope not to disappoint, but am so far vastly unhappy with chunks of chapter 8...it may not be up until very late this weekend unless I can get it hammered into a shape at least vaguely resembling a coherent installment. 26 January: Chapter 9 of AP should be up in a couple more days, and hopefully Chapter 2 of Sacred Duty will be ready for public viewing by this weekend. (Supposed to get oodles of snow tomorrow night so if I'm snowed in I'll have more time to write, which can only help.) I've been refining the dialogue in previous chapters of AP (THANK YOU SERIT!!) and will perhaps get the amendments posted this weekend too... 15 February: Next installments for AP and SD are both up (for better or worse). I've categorized SD as general only because I'm not sure whether it's going to wind up being considered H/C or Angst. It's definitely far more serious than AP. It's also going more slowly than AP so there will no doubt be longer lulls between chapters...sorry 'bout that. Also, I didn't anticipate AP being this long, so thanks SOOO much for sticking with it, and for the reviews! Am trying to decide how much I can say to put folks at ease without spoiling the ending for you, so hmm...okay, here it goes: 06 March: Things have been busier than expected as of late, so the next installments of AP and SD will be delayed, probably by a couple weeks. Don't know if you want to consider it a "mini-hiatus" or what. I usually dislike the term "hiatus", as television execs paste that term on a show that they're gonna cancel—they start off saying the show is "on hiatus" and it almost never comes back. Rest assured, though, that D'von and David are not on THAT kind of hiatus...they WILL be back! I'm just swamped at present and haven't had enough keyboard time to really do them justice. I did go back to previous chapters of AP and do a little dialogue polishing, which I'm hoping to get posted before St. Patrick's Day...Thank you for your kind words and helpful reviews in the past, and for your patience now... 10 April: Didn't want folks thinking I'd abandoned my stories...am still working on AP and SD when time allows, but it's been slow going and local events have not been terribly conducive to writing happy fluffy Lehrite scenes (or much of anything else, for that matter). Definitely not in a "whump Malcolm" frame of mind, either. Still kinda creeped out having Binghamton make world headlines, especially for something so senseless...am trying to make myself sit down and write some D'von scenes just because I need the morale boost...sleepy-snuggles would feel REAL good about now... 13 June: For those who have been patiently (or impatiently) waiting for chapter 11 of AP, I've been working on it whenever time allows, and think I am close to posting—provided, of course, that I can access the Document Manager to see if the last set of additions/edits actually saved or if I have to redo everything (again. sigh.) There will also be some minor changes to the previous chapters as I've been ferreting out tiny typos and microglitches—will let folks know when the changes are posted. Had hoped to work on SD while at my most recent crittersitting gig but it has had to take a back seat while I'm here because, although I do have computer and internet access at the llama farm, I'm using an iMac here and all my SD stuff is saved on IBM-formatted discs. So it goes. If AP's next installment doesn't make it online this weekend, it should certainly be up by Father's Day. Thanks for sticking with me! Or with D'von and Malcolm, (and/or David,) as the case may be. 16 June: Hokay...Chapter 11 is officially up, ready or not. Edits to previous chapters are not but soon will be—will make a notation in the summary when that happens. Chapter 12 is in the works, but I remind everyone that my online time is limited so it may take a while for that one to get posted, too. (Same goes for SD, but I WILL be putting up the next chapter, maybe by the end of this month or the beginning of August. Don't give up on it, okay?) Thanks for your continued patience! 10 August: Have only just noticed that there are a few glitches in Chapter 11 of AP. They're small, but they're bugging me, so will repair and repost ASAP. Still working on Ch. 12; it's not finished yet, but I've pledged to get chapter 3 of SD finished and up before posting more to AP. On the plus side, SD's next installment only needs a little more tinkering (I hope). 17 August: I'm not sure what the proper etiquette/netiquette is for acknowledging being added to people's Favorites/Story/Author Alerts, but I feel I've been more than a little remiss in thanking those who have done so. To those of you who have found my stuff worthy of such attention, I thank you. And to those who have read my stories but haven't added them to your "lists", thank you for reading what I've put out there. (Bet you thought I was gonna say something nasty, huh?) And a HUGE thank you to those who have reviewed, corrected, nudged, coerced, answered questions, and otherwise aided and abetted me. The guilty parties know who they are, I'm sure. AP chapters 12 and 13 are still in the works, SD 4 and 5 are being buffed and polished, and Siren's Song is on the way, though it may have to be a late entry for Drown Malcolm Month since I doubt it'll be finished by November. |
