It was a brisk Tuesday, in January when I thought up my username. I was currently reading "Until We Have Faces" by C.S Lewis, and was enraptured by the main character, Psyche. She went through so much, yet she still had spirit. The meaning of her name--Psyche-- was what inspired me to create my username, SongsofPsyche1945. The Psyche is defined as the human soul, mind and spirit. So, basically my username means the songs of our souls. 1945 was the year my house was built--a random fact--but an easy one to remember.

Whenever somebody asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would always say "I want to be a writer of stories."

So here I am, not exactly grown up yet but getting there.

I tend to write more on the angst/hurt/comfort side of the spectrum, but in no way does that reflect who I am as a person. The best part of being a writer is jumping into someone else's shoes and allowing yourself to become them, to feel what they are feeling and to write it down. That's why my major is Anthropology, not English.

I have been momentarily enamored by a certain company of dwarves and one hobbit, so most of my stories are going to be about that lovely gaggle.

I am very serious about my work. I write because I love it, and I never half-ass anything. With that said, I want to take a moment to talk about respecting the works that are on here.

I totally will accept constructive criticism, everyone should, it's the only way we can become better writers but I will not accept hateful comments. Constructive criticism is defined as the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one. The purpose of constructive criticism is to improve the outcome. It basically comes down to this: I can write whatever I want, and if you don't like it, that’s fine but please be respectful of my work.

We are all on here because we love to read and write fanfiction, and I fully support everyone who reads, writes and posts on here. Some write because they want to tell a story, others write as a way to cope with their past and to heal, and some write purely because they love it.

Respect your fellow authors, respect yourself.
