Author has written 5 stories for Sword Art Online/ソードアート・オンライン, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Accel World/アクセル・ワールド. Hello, I am DarknessStorm. I finally got around to posting my fanfictions online. All of my stories are self-inserts, if you don't like stories like that, then don't read them, I don't mind. All my stories are interconnected too, so expect some crossovers between them. If you have any questions about my stories, feel free to private message me and I'll do my best to answer them. Updates might be a little slow because of real life stuff (mainly college) and occasional writer's block. Sorry in advance. He was a beta tester for Sword Art Online and was one of the 10,000 people who were trapped in the game when the VRMMO launched. Similar to Kirito, Marth prefers wearing all black and is known as "the Dark Swordsman" because of it. He is also a part of the Darkness Duo, with the other person being Kirito. He also is the only other player who could dual-wield in SAO due to him tying with Kirito for the requirement. After Marth and Kirito cleared SAO, they dived into Alfheim Online to save Yuuki and Asuna from Sugou. Marth plays as a Spriggan in ALO and is working with Kirito to recreate their Sword Skills. Marth also has issues asking for help, unless its from Kirito, due to his time as a solo player in SAO and will try to shoulder things on his own, regardless of what it is. Despite this, however, Marth cares deeply for his friends and will always fight to protect them. It is later revealed that Marth is an Aegis and regained his Core Crystal to restore his powers at the cost of him losing Dragon Soul, but there might be more to the story than he and his friends think. The Black Wolf- After the events of the Demon War, Marth's powers became volatile and he accidently sent himself twenty years into the future. Most of his powers have been sealed away, along with his memories. Ten years after that, Marth was introduced to Brain Burst through Kuroyukihime/Kuroba, who wished to form an alliance with him. When Araya tried to run him and Kuroba with a car, he learns that Kuroba loves him and pushes him out of the way by using Physical Full Burst causing her to be badly injured. Seeing Kuroba in this state causes some of Marth's memories to stir, including those of Yuuki and him being the Dark Swordsman. During his battle with Cyan Demon, Marth recovers some of his memories from SAO and unlocks Starburst Stream along with an aviation ability. He later reforms the Black Legion, Nega Nebulus, with Kuroba, Kirito and Asuna. Marth also resonates with Kuroba to heal her and effectively making her his new Driver. Abilities: Dual-wielding, expert swordsman, Skill Connect, Lightning magic, Wolf Heart, Aegis powers, flight (in his ALO form only), Fenrir Effect, Acceleration Wolf Heart: Allows Marth to become a black wolf. Grants him high attack, agility and magic defense at the cost of having low physical defense. It also enhances his tracking abilities so he can find his way out of places more easily. Unlike Dragon Soul, Marth can easily control Wolf Heart due to his affinity for wolves and because it's much weaker than Dragon Soul overall. Does not have a cooldown, meaning Marth can switch between his wolf and human form in rapid succession. It also got stronger when Marth regained his Core Crystal by allowing him to use some of his Lightning magic and able to talk while in wolf form. Also, when he and Kirito are both in their wolf forms and near each other, their powers are greatly increased. Stormsurge: One of Marth's most powerful spells that was given to him by Thor. It is the Lightning Unison Spell, meaning it requires two people to cast the spell and they must be in perfect sync, otherwise the spell will backfire and kill both of them. If pulled off successfully, the spell will deal massive damage and can completely annihilate certain enemies however it will leave both casters exhausted. Marth's partner for this spell is Asuna. Currently unavailable. Skill Connect: An exploit that allows Marth to chain one-handed sword skills by alternating hands, which also cancels the post-motion delay and allows him to attack consecutively. He shares this skill with Kirito. The max amount of sword skills he can chain at the moment is five. Aegis powers: Includes regeneration and the ability to use his powers from the virtual world IRL. Marth can create portals to travel to different worlds and can even make them in-game, however he can only transport players with him when he does so. He can also control Artifices. Anyone who doesn't have a real body cannot go through them. He can also switch between his different avatars at will, though his SAO avatar is the most difficult one to access due to Marth's hatred for his "Dark Swordsman" persona, which the avatar represents. His element is Thunder but it only applies when he's in Alrest. His portal abilities and ability to control Artifices are currently sealed away. Fenrir Effect: Marth releases an energy wave that allows anyone from his world who are caught in its blast to use their powers from the virtual world IRL. Its effects are temporary and will fade away with time unless Marth renews it or he could just shut it down entirely at will. He can also control the range of the wave, which can cover vast distances. Marth, however, does not need it to use his powers due to his Core Crystal. Incarnation: By using his imagination and willpower, Marth is able to power up his Sword Skills and increase their range as well as change his appearance within Brain Burst. It is unknown what else he can do with Incarnation. Former Abilities: Dragon Soul (lost in Chapter 26 of Dark Swordsman 2 when Marth gave it up to merge with an Aegis Core Crystal) Dragon Soul: Allowed Marth to become a black dragon. It increased all his stats to the highest level, but could cause him to go berserk and attack his allies. It also had a very long cooldown whenever it was used prior to chapter 21, where Marth manages to unleash the Dragon Soul's true power and gains full control over it as well as the ability to reflect attacks back at opponents. It also significantly reduced the cooldown from thirty minutes to five minutes. It also had a Unison Skill called Twilight Stream, which could annihilate anyone caught in its blast, however, both users need to share an unbreakable bond for it to be used. Theme Song- Ending Story?? (ONE OK ROCK)/Unfinished Battle (Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition) Second Theme- Dark On Me (STARSET) (In Dark Swordsman 1, there was a writing error that Marth had the Imp wings instead of the Spriggan's. This was because Marth was originally intended to be an Imp instead of a Spriggan. The error has since been fixed for him to have the Spriggan wings. Sorry for any confusion it might have caused.) Thorrnn/Meg Storm (Sword Art Online) Thorrnn, her real name being Meg Storm, is Marth's younger sister and is best friends with Leafa (Suguha Kirigaya) and Sinon (Shino Asada). Thorrnn wasn't very close to Marth before the SAO Incident and is often considered his polar opposite. She briefly tried her hand at soccer with Marth before he quit after a year, but Thorrnn kept playing and even brought her team into tournaments. After her brother was trapped in Sword Art Online, Thorrnn bonded with Leafa, who was going through the same issue, and they became close friends. When Recon (Nagata) invited her and Leafa to Alfheim Online, Thorrnn accepted in order to get a better understanding of her brother. After Marth got out of SAO, he started attempting to reconnect with her and they eventually became close again. Thorrnn plays as a green-haired Sylph and uses a rapier. She is also very skilled with Fire magic. The Black Wolf- It is revealed that Thorrnn is the Dusk Remnant, the reincarnation of Zane's sister and daughter of Altena Umbris, who was strongest demoness to ever live. Thorrnn has vowed to awaken her demon blood to unleash her powers so she can protect her brother. She will not let anything, or anyone, take him from her. Nakamura Hajime/Dark Cerberus (Accel World) A mysterious level 8 Burst Linker that is just as strong as the Seven Kings of Pure Color and was best friends with the first Red King, Red Rider. Red Rider even taught Nakamura how to use the Incarnate System. He is hunting Kuroba in revenge for her for banishing his best friend from the Accelerated World. He also used to admire Marth and Kirito as heroes of justice, but that changed when he learned that they were allied with the Black King. Nakamura is also friends with Sky Raker, one of the original members of Nega Nebulus who has since rejoined it. Co-Creater: SytheMasterX Theme Song: Rage and Sorrow (Broly's Theme, Friedrich Habeetler Music remix) Frank Ladair (Xenoblade Chronicles 2) Frank Ladair is an Ardainian in his late teens and is the older brother of Meg Ladair. He is also cousins with Emperor Niall. Though he was born in Alrest (the world), he spent most of his life on Earth with his family. After the city he lived in was attacked when he was ten, Frank and Meg were sent to Alrest City for their protection while their parents joined the Allied Force. After seven years of living in Alrest City, Frank found the sleeping Pyra in a pod in the forest and subsequently awakened her. He then became Pyra and Mythra's Driver. After the events that transpired at his school, Frank and his friends journey to Alrest where they play a key role in its defense. While initially inexperienced, Frank is very mature for his age and is very understanding of others. He does not judge if people, including Mythra herself, have secrets and will wait for them to reveal them when they wish to. He also carries a wrist grapple gun that was given to him by Marth. He later awakened as the Master Driver when he unlocked the Aegis's true power. He is also a descendant of Addam. Abilities: Swordsmanship, Arts, the Master Driver Blades: Pneuma (current partner), Jin, Roc, Nia Theme Song- Still Worth Fighting For (Nightcore) Meg Ladair (Xenoblade Chronicles 2) Meg is an Ardainian girl in her teens and is Frank's younger sister. Unlike her brother, Meg was born on Earth rather than Alrest. She is currently in a relationship with Jason Tantal. She is the Driver of Brighid, one of the Twin Jewels of Mor Ardain, and is one of the more skilled Drivers in the team. When the team went to Alrest, Meg and Brighid were sent to Mor Ardain, where the former was quickly able to adapt to military-like settings and politics, with Meg becoming the Special Inquisitor. In most cases, Meg will put her duty over her beliefs, though she does make some exceptions with her friends. She later becomes the Driver of Aegaeon due to certain events. She is also a descendant of Addam. Jason Tantal (Xenoblade Chronicles 2) Jason hails from the Kingdom of Tantal and is also its crown prince. When he was a child, Jason ran away from home in order to learn more about the outside world and found himself in Alrest City on Earth. He quickly becomes friends with Frank and the others and even forms a relationship with Meg. Jason then becomes a Driver at the same time as the others, with his Blade being Pandoria. Jason, much to his father's chagrin, directly opposes Tantal's isolationist policy and wants to open the kingdom's doors to the world. Jason is very kind-hearted and is willing to put others before himself. Mika (Xenoblade Chronicles 2) Mika is best friends with Frank and has some indirect ancestry with Uraya. Mika is known for his incredibly bad luck, often getting him and his friends in bad situations without meaning to. Despite this, Mika maintains an optimistic mind-set and values his friends deeply. He is the Driver of Kasandra and acts as one of the tanks of the team. He later becomes the Driver of Wulfric. Ethan (Xenoblade Chronicles 2) Ethan is an Ardainian teen and was born in Alrest. Unlike his friends, Ethan does not possess the aptitude to be a Driver, so he worked with his father and grandfather to create artificial Blades so they could become Drivers. However, their lab was attacked by unknown assailants and Ethan was the only one who managed to escape. He fled to Alrest City with an ether furnace and the blueprints of an artificial Blade and began working on Poppi using the supplies given to him by Klaus. Due to Poppi's versatility as an artificial Blade, Ethan can act as both an attacker and a tank. When Poppi's ether furnace fully ignited, it granted her the ability to change her element, which was originally Ice, at will. Sonum (Xenoblade Chronicles 2) Sonum is a teenage girl with indirect ties with Gormott. She is best friends with Meg and is the Driver of Dromarch. Starting out, Sonum is the only healer in the group, until Nia joined up. Sonum can be very stubborn at times, refusing to stand down when she sets her mind for something, which can get her friends into trouble. Her stubbornness nearly got her and Ethan killed by Tirkin if not for the unexpected help of Meg, along with a mysterious dual-wielding ally dressed in black. Non-original Character Biographies (Will only include main characters for my own sanity. Obviously contains spoilers.): Sword Art Online Characters Kirito/Kazuto Kirigaya Kirito, whose real name is Kazuto Kirigaya, is best friends with Marth and is the older brother/cousin of Leafa/Suguha Kirigaya. He was a beta tester for Sword Art Online and was one of the 10,000 people who were trapped in the game when the VRMMO launched. Kirito tends to wear all black and is known as "the Black Swordsman" because of it. He is also a part of the Darkness Duo, with the other person being Marth. He also is the only other player who could dual-wield in SAO due to him tying with Marth for the requirement. After he and Marth cleared SAO, they dived into Alfheim Online to save Asuna and Yuuki from Sugou. Kirito plays as a Spriggan in ALO and is working with Marth to recreate their Dual-Wielding Sword Skills, which they eventually managed to do. When it was revealed that Marth was an Aegis, Kirito accepted the offer to become his Driver. He was the only other person capable of wielding Lunara and Solaris (Marth's swords), but lost the ability when Marth disappeared and severed their resonance. When he and Marth fought as Driver and Blade, they essentially became a two-man army (at least in their world). Not even Yuuki was able to land a blow on him during a sparring match. Kirito shares an unbreakable bond with Marth, allowing them to easily communicate without speaking. The two will always stand together, no matter what happens. He and Marth are also the co-leaders of the Alfheim Warriors. The Black Wolf- Thanks to Critias, Fenris, and Remus, Kirito was able to follow Marth twenty years into the future. He once again became childhood friends with Marth and maintains his unbreakable bond with him, however his memories are blocked. It's later revealed that he is the Burst Linker Graphite Edge and he is one of founding members of the reformed Black Legion, Nega Nebulus. Through sheer willpower, he was also able to restore his lost resonance with Marth, making him the second Driver of the Dark Swordsman. He is also the Night Remnant, the reincarnation of Zane's best friend. Abilities: Dual-wielding, expert swordsman, Skill Connect, flight (ALO form and Duel Avatar only), Wolf Heart, dark magic, Acceleration Starburst Stream: A dual-wielding sword skill that has twenty-one hits. The skill inflicts devastating damage and is one of Kirito's signature moves, along with Marth's. They first used this skill in Aincrad against Gleam Eyes and barely managed to win. They then lost access to the skill when they started playing ALO, mainly because it didn't have Sword Skills at first. When Sword Skills were added to ALO, none of the dual-wielding sword skills were among them. Eventually Kirito and Marth were able to recreate the Starburst Stream by using the Original Sword Skill system, along with the 27-hit dual-wielding sword skill, Eclipse. Skill Connect: An exploit that allows Kirito to chain one-handed sword skills by alternating hands, which also cancels the post-motion delay and allows him to attack consecutively. He shares this skill with Marth. The max amount of sword skills he can chain at the moment is five. Wolf Heart: Allows Kirito to become a white wolf. Grants him high attack, agility and physical defense at the cost of having low magical defense. It also enhances his tracking abilities so he can find his way out of places more easily. Also, when he and Marth are both in their wolf forms and near each other, their powers are greatly increased. Just like Marth, Kirito is capable of talking while in wolf form. Aegis Driver: Kirito is capable of wielding Lunara and Solaris and could harness Marth's power which greatly increased his attack power and his speed. He could also use Marth's GGO weapons when Marth switched to his GGO avatar, which also granted Kirito the GGO abilities like Bullet Line even if Kirito himself is not using his GGO avatar. He is also able to change into his different forms without a Fenrir Effect. Incarnation: By using his imagination and willpower, Kirito is able to power up his Sword Skills and increase their range as well as change his appearance within Brain Burst. It is unknown what else he can do with Incarnation. Former abilities: None. Theme Song: Swordland (composed by Yuki Kajiura) Asuna/Asuna Yuuki Asuna Yuuki is the girlfriend of Kirito and is good friends with Marth. Asuna was one of the 10,000 people who were trapped in Sword Art Online. Originally, Asuna did not care if she died in the game, but that changed when she met Kirito, Marth and Yuuki. She later joins the Knights of the Blood Oath and quickly becomes the guild's vice-commander. Because of her high speed, she gained the nickname, "Lightning Flash". After the ALO Incident, Asuna joins Alfheim Online as an Undine and plays the healer for the group, occasionally being supported by Leafa and Thorrnn. Asuna is one of the few people who can see through Marth, the others being Kirito and Yuuki. She is the only one who can use the "Lost in Thoughts All Alone" spell which completely negates the effects of Dragon Soul. While her bond with Marth is not as strong as the one he has with Kirito, she still considers him a valuable friend. Her main weapon is a rapier in both SAO and ALO. She is also the vice-commander of the Alfheim Warriors. The Black Wolf- With the help of Critias, Fenris, and Remus, Asuna was able to follow Marth twenty years into the future. While her memories are currently blocked, she was one of the first of the Alfheim Warriors to reunite with Marth and is one of his childhood friends, along with Kirito. Asuna is also very protective of Marth and initially distrusted Kuroba but did start trusting her after Kuroba became Marth's Driver. She is the Burst Linker, Argent Flash, and becomes one of the founding members of the reformed Black Legion, Nega Nebulus. Asuna is also the Flash Remnant, who was one of Zane (the Twilight Hero's) companions. Abilities: Rapier-skills, Healing magic, Water magic, Stormsurge, flight (ALO form only), Mother's Rosario, support magic, Acceleration Gamer: While she's empowered by the Fenrir Effect, Asuna is capable of transforming into her different avatars from SAO and ALO and gain their abilities. Healing magic: Do I really need to explain that? Water magic: As an Undine, Asuna has a natural affinity to water, which allows her to use the "Lost in Thoughts All Alone" spell. She is also Marth's partner for casting Stormsurge, the Lightning Unison Spell. Mother's Rosario: An Original Sword Skill given to her by Yuuki. It has 11 hits, which are all thrusts. It had the most amount of hits in ALO when it came to Original Sword Skills but it was eventually surpassed by Starburst Stream and Eclipse when Marth and Kirito recreated them. Yuuki/Yuuki Konno (deceased) Yuuki Konno was the girlfriend of Marth and was good friends with Asuna and Kirito. Yuuki was one of the 10,000 people who were trapped in Sword Art Online. While it is unknown how Yuuki was before meeting Marth, Kirito and Asuna at Floor 1, it is safe to assume that she was still her cheerful self. Similar to Marth and Kirito, Yuuki was a solo player in Aincrad, though she would constantly want to team up with Marth despite him being a Beater. Her nickname is "the Absolute Sword" due to her expert sword skills. She later created her Original Sword Skill that she named "Mother's Rosario". After the ALO Incident, Yuuki joined Alfheim Online as an Imp and was one of the group's DPS units. She later shared Mother's Rosario with Asuna. Yuuki had the second strongest bond with Marth, second only to Kirito. She could easily see through Marth and knows when he's hiding something from her. His solo habits greatly upset her but she still tried her best to help him break it. Yuuki gave her life to save Kirito from Marth's final reckless attack on Zarc during the last day of the Demon War. The Black Wolf- While no longer among the living, a fragment of Yuuki's soul has somehow managed to merge itself with her sword, Macuahuitl. The sword had turned into a charm that was later found by Kuroba, who wears it on her bracelet. During the group's stay in Okinawa, Yuuki managed to warn Kuroba that Marth and Kirito were in danger from inside a dream, prompting Kuroba to go to their rescue. It is unknown how much Yuuki is able to interfere in the physical world while within her sword. Abilities: Expert swordswoman, flight (ALO form only), Mother's Rosario Gamer: While she was empowered by the Fenrir Effect, Yuuki was capable of transforming into her different avatars from SAO and ALO and gain their abilities. Mother's Rosario: An Original Sword Skill Yuuki created in Aincrad. It has 11 hits, which are all thrusts. It had the most amount of hits in ALO when it came to Original Sword Skills but it was eventually surpassed by Starburst Stream and Eclipse when Marth and Kirito recreated them. Accel World Characters Kuroba Yukiko/Kuroyukihime A female Burst Linker who reached out to Marth and recruited him into a VRMMO called Brain Burst. Her reasons for doing so are because Marth saved her life 8 years prior to the events of Black Wolf and that she needed his help dealing with Cyan Demon. Kuroba's Duel Avatar is Black Lotus and she is a level 9 Burst Linker, earning her the title "the Black King". She develops feelings for Marth after witnessing his strength and his isolation habits, which she later confesses to him when Araya tried to run them over with a car. Kuroba uses the Physical Full Burst ability to move Marth to safety, but she was badly injured in the process. After hearing Marth's voice during his fight with Cyan Demon, Kuroba's mental state improves enough for her to enter the Accelerated World, where she decides to reveal her true avatar and announces the reformation of the Black Legion, Nega Nebulus, with its members consisting of herself, Marth, Kirito and Asuna. Kuroba also becomes Marth's new Driver and recovers from her injuries, though she now has half of his Core Crystal. She also shares Marth and Kirito's habit of dressing in all black. Later, Marth begins teaching her how to use sword skills, starting out with the one-handed sword skills. Kuroba has since mastered the one-handed sword skills and is now beginning her dual-wielding training. It was later revealed by Rias that Kuroba is the reincarnated Dawn Remnant (with Yuuki being the previous one), and was once known as Celine, princess of the fairies from an era long lost to time. She now plans to awaken her ancient blood so she can help Marth, who is slowly dying to ether poisoning. Abilities: Acceleration, Aegis Driver, Sword Skills Acceleration: Through the power of Brain Burst, Kuroba is able to accelerate and do incredible things. One of them is the Physical Full Burst, which allows her to briefly accelerate her body by 500 times the normal rate, however the price for using it is 99% of her Burst Points. Aegis Driver: Kuroba is capable of wielding Lunara and Solaris and could harness Marth's power which greatly increases her attack power and her speed. She is also able to change into her Duel Avatar while in the real world without a Fenrir Effect. Sword Skills: Special moves associated with weapons. Kuroba has managed to master all of the one-handed Sword Skills and will soon begin her Dual Wielding training. Theme Song: Alert Sign (Black Lotus vs Yellow Radio version, composer unknown) Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Characters Mythra/Pyra/Pneuma Mythra is the Emerald Aegis and also Frank's partner. She fought in the Aegis War 500 years ago and defeated Malos, another Aegis. However, during the final battle, she lost control of her powers and ended up destroying the Tornan Titan. Mythra ended up creating Pyra, an alternate self, to replace her as the Aegis due to the trauma she went through afterward, but Addam and possibly someone else convinced her not to. Addam sealed her and Pyra away so no one could abuse their power. Mythra/Pyra was eventually awakened by Frank and even attended his school (Mythra only). After certain events, Mythra and Frank go to Alrest to further their training as Driver and Blade. They eventually began their journey to Elysium while gathering their friends. Mythra/Pyra was then captured by Torna, prompting Frank and the others to find the third Aegis Sword so Frank could unlock their true power, Pneuma's power, who is the true Emerald Aegis. Mythra/Pyra was rescued and Frank succeeded in becoming their true Driver. They then continued to Elysium where they learned the truth about Alrest from the Architect himself. After defeating Malos, Mythra/Pyra then sacrificed herself to destroy Elysium before it could collapse on Alrest. However, she was later revived by Frank when her Core Crystal reactivated, but she came back in her ascended form. She now goes by "Pneuma" at Frank's recommendation because she can't go back to her other forms. Abilities: Aegis powers, Arts, Foresight, Artifices Aegis Powers: As Mythra, her Aegis powers involve Light and are very powerful, where she can move at lightspeed for brief bursts. However, Mythra's powers can be volatile and are dangerous to use in close spaces. As Pyra, her powers are at her weakest, with her element being Fire, but she has better control over them over her sister. As for Pneuma, her powers are the strongest, where she can freely change her element and make the impossible happen at will. Pneuma is capable of rewriting the natural laws of the environments to fit her needs to where she and her Driver can achieve lightspeed. Pneuma's sword is also the strongest and will never break, mirroring Marth's Lunara and Solaris. She also possesses a regeneration ability, where she can heal from any wound, however this was weakened when she shared her core with Frank. Arts: Similar to her Driver, Pneuma can unleash Arts on her enemies. Mythra and Pyra could do this to, however Pneuma has since lost access to their forms. Foresight: An ability that both Mythra and Pneuma have. It allows them to see events that will happen in the immediate future, however it only activates in battle. Artifices: Pneuma and Mythra are able to control Artifices and even pilot them. Their main Artifice is Siren but Pneuma can also control Aion. Pyra, on the other hand, cannot control Artifices unless under extreme circumstances. Jin Jin is an Ice Blade and is one of Frank's Blades. He is known as the Paragon of Torna, and was the strongest Blade in the nation, aside from Mythra. After the Aegis War, Lora sealed Jin away so he could help Mythra when she would awaken again. He was eventually discovered by Klaus, who sent him to Leftheria to assist Frank and Mythra. Along the way, Jin rescued a Gormotti named Nia and she decided to accompany him. While Jin did befriend Frank and Mythra, he kept the knowledge of him being a Blade from the Aegis Driver, until the events on Temporal Island, where Jin formed a resonance with Frank. Jin is one of Frank's most trusted friends and tends to fight by his side rather than play support like the typical Driver and Blade style. Abilities: Blade powers, Arts, high speed, expert swordsman Blade powers: Jin's element is Ice, making him immune to the cold. He also has a regeneration ability, like all Blades share. Jin is also very fast, with him capable of keeping up with Jason and even Zeke to a degree. Arts: Like all Blades, Jin can unleash Arts to inflict devastating damage on his enemies. His Arts focus on his sword skills and speed while occasionally using his ice powers. |
