Hi. For the purposes of this site I'm hope.rose.dawnstar, but please just call me Dawn. On Wattpad, my account is HopeRoseDawnfire, and I post anything I feel really requires pictures over there.

My profile picture keeps evolving, so don't expect it to be always the same. However, notice I said 'evolving' rather than 'changing'-- I keep getting ideas to improve it, but what I have now is the same picture I started with, just edited a bunch.

I have recently switched to an online school. It's nice, except that, like any school, the websites are designed terribly. I don't know why school websites are cursed, but they definitely are. It's more of a problem with an online school, but I'm doing okay.

My stories tend to get abandoned for long periods of time. I think I'm starting to learn how to write more easily, but it may still be months or even another year before I manage to post another chapter of any of them, and it's quite possible that I won't ever reach the end of any of them.

My main interests are art-- drawing, painting, online stuff--, singing, and reading, with aviation lagging behind the lot. You see, when I was really little airplanes were my favorite animal (little girl silliness, I know planes are machines not animals), and lately the interest is returning, helped by my memories from several years ago of an event that was held (yearly or something like that) at the tiny little airport in the town where I was born. They would let kids go up as copilots for short flights in their small planes that held two to four people, counting the pilot and the copilot. Great big commercial planes aren't much fun, but flying in those was amazing, especially since you got to be the copilot and learn the basics of how to steer a plane. I also think archery might be a fun hobby.

I wrote this poem during lunch at school today(Jan 13, 2016):

California Weather
A light pitter-patter of raindrops
sounds from the umbrella angled behind me,
And the ground is dotted with wet.
But the sun shines through,
as bright as ever,
And, opposite it, a brilliant rainbow
stretches across the sky,
to my left.

It was weird how invisible the rain was and how little the clouds affected the amount of sunshine. I've lived here all my life, and I actually haven't seen this sort of thing before, so the title of the poem might be a bit misleading.

So... In elementary school(basically), I learned Spanish, and there was a bit of confusion when we were learning 'nada' (which means 'nothing') because it sounds a lot like my name (Nadya, short for Nadyezhda which means hope). And then just now I go on Google Translate and it turns out that my name actually translates to 'nada' in Croatian. I'm really not sure that this is a good thing. Actually, I think that it is, in fact, a bad thing.

I watch a lot of Minecraft videos, and there are five youtubers who I consider my favorites. Those youtubers are PrestonPlayz, PeteZahHutt, Chocothechocobo, Logdotzip, and Setosorcerer. Seto's a bit of a weird one for me, and there are several reasons for this.

1. He hasn't posted a video for over a year.
2. Before today ('today' as in when I'm writing this, not as in whenever you're reading this) I had only ever watched one of his videos.
3. I started watching his videos because I read a couple of fanfics with him in them, and although he was generally a side character he really stood out to me.

Even with the brevity of my glimpse at Seto so far, I'm 100% with all of his longtime fans who want him to come back. Although I don't really approve of the amount of swearing in his videos.

I am wearing green shorts and a dress that is leopard print on the bottom, black on the top, and has more leopard print as trim. This is one of my oldest dresses that still fits; currently a seam on one side of the skirt part is ripped, and I recently cut up and sewed up the short sleeves because they were too tight but the rest of the dress still fit perfectly.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.
