For reference: the fiction would be original and it would be on a personal website that I made.

[A hot wind blows over the cracked dry asphalt of a deserted city.]

[The ruined bodies of skyscrapers and high rise hotels lay around you; monoliths of a past era now gone forever.]

[If you were to stand here all day, only the weak desert breeze would pass by.]

[The sun begins to set in a haze of red pollution. The shadows stretch long and dark over the ground. The sounds of animals and people moving through the ruins of the city begin around you but never rise above a murmur.]

[Finally there is a voice. A familiar voice. And it is saying something you haven't heard in a long time but that rings nostalgic bells in your head and tells you the world will be all right.]

["Where are you headed?" The cab driver asks.]
