The brothers have been separated for six months, unbeknownst to Dean that in all those months, his little brother was being held captive by a group of hunters and tortured severely every day. Sam's sixteen now, but he's still way too trusting. Dad has a grim plan to remedy that particular flaw and insists that Dean be the one to carry it out. When Dean reluctantly agrees, will Dad's form of tough love be more than the youngest Winchester can weather?

A claustrophobic story that almost entirely centers around Sam and Lucifer during his time in the Cage. It devolves from a light-hearted opening scene, to torturous mayhem. Consumed by dark thoughts, Dean's mindset could spell trouble for Sam (takes place after "The Executioner' s Song in season 10).

Splitting up in a probably haunted abandoned cabin in the middle of God's armpit seems like the shortest distance to something feisty and/or evil getting a chewy mouthful of well-meaning Winchester. S4 post 4X14 "Sex and Violence." The boys try to get back on track. Rating for language.
