I just found this and OMG. Appreciate the realistic way you wrote about John. That's exactly the way I saw his and Bobby's relationship. Sure, Bobby got mad and run him off but as years went on they both regretted it. Because in the hospital John told Sam to call Bobby and Bobby immediately was there for the boys. And the way you described Bobby's emotions was just, there are no words. Thank you for a thoughtful, heartbreaking story.

I like this, from Bobby's POV, right after John's death. Bobby was right, John WOULD want to have died going after the demon, instead of a "failing in his own body". And of course the boys wouldn't have told him - perhaps Sam, maybe, someday.

The grief, and the missing piece of themselves... you write a great story.

I love it when people write the transitional/missing scenes! Well done on this one, you did a fantastic job with it :) And I really like that we got to see it from Bobby's POV. It added an extra layer of interpretation and emotion to the situation and *really* tugged on my heart. I love seeing that side of Bobby, even if it is because of terrible circumstances.

Such a wonderful gap filler - I've never seen this space of time addressed and, God, you are right about it being an intense set of interactions the Show skipped right over. Such a terrible loss, and then Dean's burdened with his father's secret, too. :(
