A close-to-canon short story that imagines what happened between the pages - and during the summer - at the end of 'Anne of the Island', taking place from the time of Gilbert's near-death and recovery to his second proposal to Anne... and perhaps a little beyond! It begins at 'A Book of Revelation' and will feature the perspectives of both Anne and Gilbert.

When Arthur fantasied being reunited with Merlin, he imagined giving the insufferable man the constantly demanded hug (only to later denying giving it, of course), or with Merlin simply walking through the doors of the throne room without knocking and calling Arthur a prat in front of everyone. Arthur has always taken both his own royal lifestyle and his manservant for granted. Then a certain incident with a witch puts him quite literally in Merlin's shoes, and Arthur finds himself faced with several unwelcome truths.

Because Arthur believes Merlin is still unconcious, he tells him how much he really means to him. (I went for short & sweet but somehow I'm unable to not make characters suffer)

"It's…it's cancer, Joe," Barry whispered. Joe's face didn't change. He didn't say anything. He just stared at him. "W-what?" he finally whispered. "Please don't freak out," Barry said quickly, "Don't make a bigger deal out of it than it is. Caitlin's going to treat it, and everything's going to be fine." "You have cancer?" Joe asked numbly. It wasn't that Arthur didn't believe Merlin. It was more that he had only ever seen magic used for evil, and a lifetime of brainwashing from Uther wasn't about to fade overnight. How was he supposed to change his views for one man, especially when he had seen Merlin use his magic for bad as well?

It took a second for Singh to see Allen, and when he did, his heart nearly stopped. There was Allen, no, Barry, because the young kid on the ground was, in that moment, Barry. Not still, but shaking, guttural sounds emitted from his mouth, arms clenching and un-clenching against his chest, with legs that banged rhythmically against the ground in some sick version of a metronome.

When his magic is finally exposed, Merlin isn't the only one to suffer. Reveal!fic with a twist. No slash, and some whump later on.

Merlin had secrets, and Arthur knew nothing of them, until, slowly, he did. In which Arthur slowly unravels the mystery that is Merlin, and begins to realize just how much he doesn't know.

I always thought there should be a scene at the end of the miniseries where we actually saw things get resolved outright between Margaret and Mr. Thornton. I am expanding on this idea after a great beginning. Reviews are most welcome!

I absolutely love this scene from the 1995 BBC version! What is going on in Darcy's head as he watches Elizabeth play and sing and interact with his guests? I love how they are looking at each other at the end of it. Matt McFayden is good, but Colin Firth forever remains the definitive Mr. Darcy.

Why Matt wandered into her ER instead of calling on that damn cell phone he gave her, like Claire was his personal wound-tailoring service, she doesn't know.

Matt visits Claire to get patched up and she helps him face his unresolved grief and anger about his father's death.

Two-parter fic that takes place between episodes 9 and 10. "Who the hell is this? Where is Matt?" The shrillness of her words left her mouth before she could think through the consequences of using his name again. "He's here - he told me to call you. I can't stop the bleeding." The man's voice trailed off into a panicked heave and again the phone shuffled.

Matt/OC. Why do none of Matt's relationships work out? Perhaps because at one time he had a best friend, one who knew him before the accident, and became so much more than just that.
