![]() Author has written 69 stories for Bible, Mod Squad, Battle of the Planets, Gatchaman, Speed Racer, G-Gundam, Cyborg 009, Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha, Trigun, Gundam Wing/AC, Chrono Crusade, Blood+, Full Metal Panic, One Piece, and S.A. This picture is an original fan art I created in Adobe Illustrator as an illustration of the third paragraph of chapter 9 of my Gatchaman story "Passages" I am a woman who writes as an artist-- for that is what I am-- I've created pictures with paper, canvas, pencils, and brushes, now the computer and mouse. So that is how I aspire to write, painting a picture with words. I have loved books since the age of six, and wrote short stories in high school. Now that I am wheelchair bound, I have rediscovered my writing muse and I still create art! I have loved anime since the wonder years and see it as the artform it is. I write my stories as tie-ins to the original story so I am a stickler for canon and will use past elements that may be missed by the casual observer so there are spoilers in my work for those newcomers to the animes I write stories about. Those animes are: Speed Racer --a classic from my childhood and what I consider the flagship in all anime, the creation of the late, great Tatsuo Yoshida, founder of Tatsunoko. Battle of the Planets --see below-- the Sandy Frank adaptation of Yoshida's second masterwork. Gatchaman --another classic that Battle of the Planets was adapted from and was created by Yoshida and Tatsunoko. G-Gundam --Imagawa's modern masterpiece of mecha and romance-- long live Domon and Rain! Rurouni Kenshin -- Nobuhiro Watsuki's breathtakingly beautiful anime that has a richly wrought storyline based on Japanese history with a hauntingly sweet romance and story of a man's quest for redemption. Cyborg 009 --another classic anime that has a modern rebirth with a surprisingly rich complexity of charactersand another sweetly tentative romance. Inu Yasha --I just love Rumiko Takahashi's story and character development-- and the score is so poignant. Trigun -- Once I got past the overly exaggerated and sometimes goofy character design I was hooked by the complex and at times heartwrenching story of Vash and Knives. Full Metal Panic -- this is by far one of the best stories out of Japan...Shouji Gatou has done a brilliant job creating one of the most complex tragic heroes I have ever read in Sousuke Sagara...and although my first exposure was the anime series, his novels give far more depth to the character and it's my fervent hope that his entire body of work will one day be translated. Until then, Sousuke as he was at the end of the third series The Second Raid is how I am basing my portrayal of him in my current story. Animes I've enjoyed but have not written about: Yu Yu Hakusho, Fushigi Yugi, Betterman-- and I'm getting intrigued by Samurai Champloo, Paranoia Agent, and s-Cry-ed. Most recently, I have fallen in love with Chrono Crusade and Samurai Deeper Kyo and am planning a multi-chaptered story for Chrono Crusade called "Six Months" to fill in the gap in the final episode before Chrono and Rosette die together, after they disappear following the defeat of Aion. A little side note about reviews: I welcome constructive criticism - - as an artist I am used to critique and that should be used as a tool to help the artist to be better as it says clearly in the review window- - but in lieu of recent events I am stating that I do not accept mean -spirited flames whose main purpose is to trash my work. As a rule. I never, ever leave a review that doesn't encourage the writer even when I do criticize -- and I expect the same courtesy to be extended to me. But be warned -- if you do leave a mean -- spirited flame anonymously and leave your e-mail or a signed one -- I will respond and consider the issue closed. If you leave an anonymous review with no e-mail that's a flame--it will be deleted and removed so why waste your time. And furthermore, if you try to carry it to an extreme and push me... I will push back. I have neither the time nor interest to get involved in petty, juvenile e-mail wars. So if you have a chip on your shoulder or have some other problem and decide to take out your frustrations by flaming -- DON'T PICK ON ME. After careful thought and consideration and reviewing the synopsis for the upcoming chapters of the story I have decided to change the category of "Race to Save the World" from Cyborg 009 to Speed Racer. I hope this doesn't cause any confusion. An explanation for my lack of updates or contributions this year… I realize that I’ve seemed very lax in updating the two stories In The Dark and For Richer…For Poorer I apologize deeply to those who have been anxiously awaiting updates…I do have new chapters under construction for both; however, I have a viable explanation as to why they have not been finished or posted. I decided back in January that I needed to spend more time on my original trilogy The Gleaning Time which the first book had been published in 2007. However, opportunities to promote the book when it was released were hampered severely by a fall and complications I suffered on 6/08 that had me in rehab until 4/09. Returning to my home and getting to being stronger had taken nearly another year so my book had languished in obscurity with little exposure. This year, my New Years resolution was to take opportunities offered by the publisher to promote the book so I’ve done that, sending it to book fairs in Jerusalem, New York, Tokyo, and Munich. In addition I’ve arranged to have it distributed in bookstores all over the world. The Gleaning Time – Arc One – In The Beginning was released January 22nd 2007 The Gleaning Time – Arc Two – Into The Fields released on March 26th 2012 Both books are also available for review on the Open Library and Goodreads sites...Open Library has excerpts of both books along with links to online bookstores. On Goodreads I have just been granted an Author membership so I'll be working on promoting my books with their tools. March, 2014: Updates on my work: I realize that I have not been faithful in updating the ongoing stories I still have in my account here on FanFiction.net. I'm truly sorry, because those who know me know of my physical difficulties and chronic condition which sometimes hampers my ability to write. However, that is not always the case and I feel I owe the readers that are faithful to my work an explanation. So here goes… Since last year, the writing muse has become increasingly silent regarding FanFiction. My creative juices seem to be flowing towards creating original work…I am finding that producing my own characters and plots are far more stimulating to me then using established plots, universes, and characters that somebody else had created. I have often said that my writing FanFiction was a tool to help me hone my craft that I may endeavor to write my own original plots and create my own characters so; using some of the same elements and devices successful in presenting an absorbing story with multi faceted and interesting characters. And in that, I have begun writing my own historical romance taking place in the 1880s between an Anglo–American man and Japanese woman called "The Promise of the Sakura" that I have started posting on Fictionpress.com and I invite you to come and read my work there. As a matter of fact, I encourage anyone who would like to read my recent work to come over there and read my story. It is a plot that I had thought of for use in a Rurouni Kenshin fanFiction but decided instead to craft my own attempt in this very popular genre to create a possible manuscript for publication. Those interested in reading the story my pen name over at Fictionpress.com is GoldAngel4. This may sound to many dedicated readers like I am abandoning my FanFiction stories. And in the case of a few of them, they may remain unfinished as the universes that I had written them in no longer interest me. However, there are two unfinished stories that I do plan to finish. One of them is my FMP collaboration with RedLion2; In The Dark...since the climactic chapter wrapping up the story is nearly complete after which there is only the conclusion or epilogue. And, the S/A story…For Richer, For Poorer, because my OC villainess Ami is very much like my character Virginia in my original story... Both are selfish, self-centered young women whose self-serving acts will lead to disaster. Writng one character is helping me to create the other so I'm going to be taking that story out and working on it as well. Thanks to all who have left reviews, or made this particular story a favorite waiting patiently for an update… I will do my best :-). |
