I've contributed to this site for over eight years and I beta-read several years ago for the Cyborg 009 universe with fairly successful results, however I won’t be beta-ing for that uni again...because I’m removed from it. So please don’t ask me to.br /br /br /

That being said, I have now acquired and read all eleven novels in the Full Metal Panic series…several times and have acquired all three anime series, some of the key short stories germane to the main story, all the discontinued manga from ADV, and the fact book along with fan translated scanlations of the unavailable Sigma manga. In addition, I’ve written stories for the series for three years. So I feel sufficiently qualified to offer my services as a beta for this universe.br /br /br /br /

As a canon purist, I recognize elements from the novels first…after all it was Shouji Gatou’s magnificent crafting of these characters, scenes, and creative retooling of past history to fit his plot that makes FMP such a rich uni. So all of my suggestions/criticisms will be based on that foundation although I will take into consideration that most fans of the series have only the anime or translated manga to go by. However, since Gatou wrote most of the scripts for both the elements within them are acceptable for prompts and tropes to write FMP fan fiction. br /br /br /

Proper grammar in fanfiction is my pet peeve...I run grammar and spell checks constantly on my own work. I also strongly urge researching for realistic plot elements...readers appreciate when they can relate to something in a story, it becomes tangible. Gatou mentions in the afterward of A Dancing, Very Merry Christmas that he actually went on a cruise to research his scenes on the Pacific Chrysalis but thanks to the infinite resources on the Web the fledgling writer can do the research needed for the proper scenes in their plot for a lot less money. And delving into a character's heart and soul is my ultimate goal and the modus operandi behind my stories.

My weaknesses are consistency in timely updating. And I have been known to be somewhat redundant at times, repeating a character's thoughts...but in my defense we all can be redundant in our thoughts...especially when you're obsessive, like me. Also, my thoughts sometimes can get scattered when I see too many directions in a plot.

About pairings…the main canon couple is without a doubt Sousuke/ Kaname…and THAT’S who I will recognize since from the time these two see each other, the bond is established. I will also accept Mao/Kurz, and any Jindai pairing since none are really established, with the exception of Hayashimizu/Ren and Kagurazaka-sensei/Misuhoushi-sensei (the art teacher in FUMOFFU), who end up getting married and are expecting a baby at the end of the final novel. About the inner workings of Mithril which includes the birth of the organization, Tessa and Leonard’s parents, Sousuke’s childhood and bond with Kalinin, I can help by referring to the short stories, novels or Sigma scanlations…there’s room for intriguing elaboration for story elements there and I welcome them as potential plot devices. The same for Kaname’s family dynamics…could make a great story. And the mecha…especially the ARX-7 Arbalest and ARX-8 Laviatien with the Whispereds that created them…Bani Maurata (not Bunny) and Mira Kudan (not Miller) are very interesting. She’s the pretty redhead Sousuke rescues with Kurz and Mao in Siberia at the very beginning of the first episode and novel and he’s Tessa’s first love. The weapons on both I can help with referring to my anime guide or the fact booklets that came with my TSR DVDs…both have extensive facts on all the AS’s.

Don’t ask me to read any Sousuke/Tessa pairing…for although they become friends in the novels in the anime series she’s the typical stalker superior who makes him very uncomfortable. And the same with Leonard/ Kaname, in the novels he is very passive/aggressive in his odd relationship with her…giving her a gun to shoot him then after she does and he recovers from his wound he slaps her, splitting her lip…not my idea of a healthy relationship. So I won’t recognize either. And NO slash, yaoi, yuri.
