Greetings from the Northeast United States! Welcome to my little fic collection. First off, let me send a thank you to all the fan fiction writers out there who've kept me entertained through the years, and another to each and every person responsible for bringing the fans Stargate SG-1, which was the inspiration that allowed me to rediscover the joy of creative writing. I am in your debt. I’d also like to send my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has ever taken time from their own lives to send me feedback on my stories. Your responses add joy to many of my days, and I can’t thank you enough for your comments. As Kate Mulgrew said at Dragon*Con 2009, "It's liberating and delightful to know that I am not alone in fantasy land." Thanks for taking the time. Historically, I’ve stayed away from ‘these are the types of stories I write’ statements here, as I believe my stories speak for themselves, but... I’ve been told that there are too many stories here to digest properly, and I agree. So, without further ado, I present an organization of sorts. The link below will take you to my LiveJournal account, where a Master Fic List is posted. From there, you can click on the title of any fic and it will redirect you back here to read the fic directly. All fics now have headers on the actual story page to provide ratings, spoiler warnings, etc, from outside links. Note that a handful of fics appear in multiple categories. Also, unless specifically stated (I noted all relationship stories with a double asterisk in the link below, and I tried to put that mark on anything that even bordered on ship/slash/smarm to help you NoRoMos out-most of it is pretty tame and many of it is other character observations), all 'blank/blank' categories refer to friendship or relationship stories, not romance or slash. You won’t find much of that here (with the apparent exception of Jack/Sam ship in SG-1 fic), but you will find quite healthy doses of friendship, UST and angst. And without further ado, I present the whole shebang: http:///191421.html I do not have a ‘one true character’ or a ‘one true pairing’ in any series I write. You will find that my works focus on many characters and that my moods regarding pairings vary. While deep down I have my loyalties, I often stray from them if the story requests it. I listen to my muses, even if sometimes they take me down dark and scary paths that I would rather not travel. You will not find real person fic or anything that I feel might embarrass the actors who portrayed the characters that I so dearly love here. My stories tend to be short to medium length, and I have quite a fondness for drabbles, but there are a few novella length fics here, too. I tend to only post a story once it is done or nearly so, so my updates tend to be timely, but there has been one very notable exception thus far, and I make no promises that 'Command Decisions' performance will not be repeated. I’d also like to say that this collection of works is essentially complete. That is to say, my very first fic is here alongside my latest. I feel like I’ve grown a lot as a writer over the time that I’ve been writing fan fiction, and sometimes my early works embarrass me. Sometimes I’m tempted to remove them from the site. But I haven’t, and I don’t think I will. This is why: “My evolution as a writer is a big part of this story, and cleaning up the older entries too much would rob you (and me) of some fun.” -Wil Wheaton, in Just A Geek. I couldn’t have said it better myself. Finally, I’d like to thank all the friends and family who have tolerated my fiction addiction through the years. I know that you sometimes pay the price for my stories, and while it may seem to go unnoticed, it does not. I am immensely grateful to you all. I send these last lines, some old friends and some recently discovered, to you: “If imagination is not set to the task of building a creative life, it busies itself with weaving a web of inner fears and doubts, blame and excuse.” -Laurence G. Boldt “Still, as a storyteller, I'm fascinated how a person's sense of consciousness can be so transformed by nothing more magical than listening to words. Mere words.” -Jose Chung, in ‘Jose Chung’s From Outer Space’, The X-Files, Season 3. “And I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. Maybe invent me a story or two.” -Jimmy Buffett, in Coastal Confessions. Yup. Pretty much. I'm done here. -wabbit Oh, and for the record, the word counter on this site is utterly insane, but I have since rendered its counts obsolete by adding headers to all of my fics, anyway. Half Drabble =50 words. Drabble=100 words. Double Drabble=200 words. Always. I work very hard to make that so. Thank you. |
