Author has written 4 stories for Kim Possible, and Harry Potter. Essential Info A bit about me: I'm 32; from Alabama...yes I have all my teeth, no I'm not a backwoods idiot...well at least anymore than anyone else. I have been a frequent visitor to fanfiction.net for many years now, and have written just a few little things. For those wondering I still am working (very, very, very slowly) on Harry Potter and Voldemort's Final Curse and A Helping Hand. However be warned that there are many, many more important things on my plate right now. What you may ask? Well in addition to my work as an Architect the wife and I have a fifteen-month-old dictator in the house. We fly hot-air balloons in what little spare time their is. Reviews I believe every review I write should point out good and bad. It should be helpful, healthy, criticism and communicate my perception of a story. Criticisms should be communicated in a non-personal, clearly explained manner. Comments should not contain profanity or outright unexplained 'flaming' unless there is a good reason that is also communicated within the review. Reviews should help the author grow; not just be a pat on the back or a put-down. Please R&R all stories. Any praise or criticism is appreciated. I owe allot to other writers, so don't be shy! Updates, ramblings, etc. 5.10.2006 I guess it's time to update this thing. It only took five years, 173 credit hours, and 80,000 dollars, but I am finally finished with college. That's right people, they are sending me out into the world with a piece of paper that says in three years and some luck (along with passing one heck of an exam), I can become a registered architect. I know, the powers that be are crazy. Who in their right mind would think I'm qualified to do anything! Oh, well...they said I had to leave though (that is if I don't have any money to go to graduate school...which I don't.). 2.11.2009 OK so I've removed my little rant about Slash tales. I hope I didn't offend anybody too badly. I will say that I do not like reading slash. I don't care for it and I really would appreciate it if those who do and write these tales would please clearly mark them in the summaries. For those guys out there who like the whole 'harem thing' (Harry Potter section mostly) and for the Kim Possible section the 'Kigo' thing I will say that I've grown old enough to really find it not only unlikely, but also distasteful. Oh and I'll mention that I exit a story with anime references immediately. Can't stand the stuff. Do they really count that stuff as entertainment over there?...of course we have our own bad 'reality' TV that I can't stand either, but that's a whole separate topic. So how about that world economy? FanFics really sound like a worthwhile, cheap, and satisfying hobby now that we can't afford to go out to eat or to the movies anymore. Ahh things aren't as bad as you think...most of those people writing for the news and other agencies are only a few years older than I and even the CEO's, Government officials, etc... were mostly born in the early 70' or late 60's. Most of them haven't been through a bad recession and if they have they weren't old enough to remember it anyway. It may be dating my poor parents (who are grandparents now, thanks to my sister), but they got out of college during that bad early-to-mid 70's recession. They seem to think, while it will be painful, that things will get better; we aren't in for 20 years of bad luck or another great depression. So turn off the news and exit out of those internet sites and read some FanFiction that gets your hopes up! 4.5.2010 Long scary year last year. Got married; watched the architectural industry fall off a cliff and worried about our possibility of income over the next few years. Then worried about the freedoms we are giving up for our new utopian socialist society...scary times people. As a good southerner and taxpayer (and believe me; those that don't work for the government and pay taxes are NOT rich...no matter what your school teachers, professor types, or politicians tell you) I don't believe in the government telling me what I can an cannot do; and that especially goes for what I should spend my hard earned cash on...but as a former hippie I do believe in protecting our environment; confusing as that may seem to many of you. I don't doubt many people need health-care that they cannot afford; but I believe that insurance should be only used and needed for dire circumstances. For example: you don't buy insurance to pay for your car's oil changes do you? No; you buy it in the event that it gets irreparably damaged by another idiot that can't drive. So following that logic insurance should not be something you use for doctor visits, lab tests, prescriptions, broken bone, etc... It should be used for those unexpected debilitating diseases and conditions that cost you lengthy hospital stays and such. See? That's reasonable. Doctor's would adjust their incomes and billing accordingly and insurance companies would still be able to make a few dollars like businesses are supposed to. Changing the tort system along with that so doctors would not be so scared to treat people on a pro-bono basis (for those in dire need) would allow them the freedom to help others as they can and still stay in business. Everyone wins. Granted it would take some time; but doesn't everything? 7.20.2011 Busy, busy year so far. Work's picked up again; not that it's a bad thing but it doesn't leave much time for writing or reading. The house is a mess, I've been doing kitchen renovations; and I have yet to find time to study for my fifth test...Structures...like I need to. I apologize for not publishing anymore on 'A Helping Hand' but right now I just don't have the time. I will finish it one day...hopefully...along with my Harry Potter story...but don't hold your breath. 6.6.2012 OK so a few things have changed on our favorite site here. I like some of the new features; but I don't like not being able to adjust the story width anymore or the icons ahead of the story titles; it's distracting. The content rating system 'reminder' just sucks plane and simple. I know thy are covering their behinds mostly but its going a little far just to delete a story without warning. Send them a quick 'you have 48 hours to remove' message then do your deleting. You need to trust people more; I know it's hard in this day and age but even the kids on here appreciate the effort and expense in running this site and will most likely understand resonable requests. 4.28.2015 So it's been a long time since I've updated this or any of my stories. I apologize but I just haven't had the time. Work's been crazy-busy but after the tanking of the architectural industry in 2008 that's not a bad thing. If you see from above I was working on my architectural license and I did complete all my testing and got my license over a year ago. The big thing, however, has been that my wife and I had a kid. She's great...very cute, but she doesn't leave any time for anything other than work and the essentials of owning a home and having a family. Toddlers are really like little, drunk dictators. I renovated our basement and moved my office down there so we could put the nursery upstairs and keep the guest room. I hear it's nice. I've got lots of little plot bunnies started; about 30 actually. New stories and crossovers with some timelines some partial chapters ...some additional chapters for the stores I haven't completed yet... all just hanging around. I write in a few moments at lunch or before bed at night when I can find the time and energy. No time for more but maybe one-day I'll have some time to complete them. Till then I apologize. If you want to read some of that stuff message me and I'd be happy to share. Maybe someone can do more with it all. |
