Update 21 April 2014

I'm back! In a moment I'll be posting again. Sadly, Materia Duel just totally lost my interest, so that one won't be updated for a long time, probably not even ever. As much as I dislike not finishing a story, I simply cannot work up the motivation to continue working on it.

But don't be sad. I've started collaborating with Lavender Rains, and we're working on Runner Boy together. Progress is slow, but the story is coming out beautifully, so expect a great new story coming up in a while.

For now, I've decided to start working on Overcoming Differences. It's a story that the plotbunnies decided to drop into my head and it refuses to leave. I'm not sure whether I'll be able to update at my normal rate, but rest assured that the chances of me abandoning this story are next to nothing.

Hello FanFiction!

Me: After reading loads of good stories on this site I finally decided to join you.

Ninha: Perhaps it's a good idea to introduce yourself Ocena.

Me: I was going to Ninha! Anyway, I'm a 26-year-old Dutch girl with a love for reading and writing. I currently work as an English teacher at a Dutch secondary school. Before I got the job however, I had way too much spare time. I spent it by reading stories on this site, and eventually decided to take up writing again after a way too long writers block. Hopefully, I'll manage to entertain some of you.

Nohin: And why are we here?

Me: Because you are my lovely OCs Nohin. You're my very own mental support!

Nohin: You know that you're crazy, right?

Me: Hehe, but of course I am! But that's not the point. Actually I got this idea of you actually talking like this after reading some stories here. I thought it was funny so decided to take a whack at it.

Ninha: Come on bro, be nice to Ocena. Just think of all the fan girls out there waiting to meet you!

But now to the point.

Q: What can I expect from you?

A: Well I love reading just a little bit more than writing, so don't expect me to post a lot of stories. As for reading them, now that I've got my own profile I've decided to start reviewing some of my favourites. There are some excellent authors over here. I will never, ever flame anyone. I've got some first hand experience with people flaming me, so I know how painful it is. Whenever I review every comment I will give you is meant as constructive criticism with the intention of helping you improve your writing, whether it's on style, plot or grammar. Naturally, I will also point out the good stuff.

Q: What is it that you read?

A: Well I basically read everything as long as the plot appeals to me and it's decently written. I must say that, no matter how much the plot intrigues me, a badly written story is a real let down for me, making me abandon reading it any further. Right now I mostly read Yu-gi-oh! fics, though I'm also interested in FFVII fics. I don't mind violence, lemons or angsty stuff as long as the story is good.

Q: What is it that you write?

A: I will probably keep myself to writing T-rated fics for Yu-gi-oh!. I don't mind reading M-rated stuff, but I'm a bit apprehensive of writing them. I will keep my OCs out of it. I know some people like to incorporate their OCs in their FF, but that's not my style. I don't particularly mind reading FF with OCs as long as it actually makes sense that the OCs are in there, instead of them being in there for the sake of putting OCs in a FF. But that's my opinion. You roll, like you want to roll, and I'll roll like I want to roll.

Q: Can I ask you to read or perhaps even beta my fic?

A: By all means! I would love to help you out if you think my comment are of value to you. It's probably the main reason I'm here, so don't hesitate to contact me.

Q: Can I suggest story ideas to you?

A: Yes you can. I might even do the same if people don't mind. I would also love to collaborate, so contact me to see if we can work something out.

Q: Finally, what do you expect from us?

A: Just the same you can expect from me. Be nice, don't flame me and help me improve my own skills. I'd rather have 2 heartfelt reviews with loads of tips to help me improve the story or my writing skills in general, than 10 reviews stating the story is good with a request to post some more soon. Sure, those comments are nice, but it won't help me improve, and my writing is far from perfect.

Stories I'm writing:

Overcoming Differences
A mobiumshipping fic. Atem, Yami and Yugi are three entirely different people, and the people around them never suspected that they could make a relationship work. Let's see how they do exactly that.

Note:I don't have a back log on this fic (shame on me), but I just needed to post the first chapter. Don't expect regular updates, but I'll post as often as I can. This will be my main story when I'm not working on Runner-boy with Lavender Rains.

Runner-boy
Another Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic set in Ancient Egypt. Yugi is a ten-year-old slave, who works as a runner-boy (basically an ancient Egyptian mail man). Fate will eventually bring him and Prince Atem together. As they grow older, will something bloom between them?

Note: Collaboration with Lavender Rains! We've got two chapters already down, but we want some back log before we start posting. As soon as we're satisfied, we'll start posting.

Materia Duel
A crossover between Yu-Gi-Oh! and Final Fantasy VII. Cliche plot, but meant to be humorous with loads of implied shipping. Probably won't be many chapters, but I'll see how it goes.

Note: This story is discontinued due to lack of motivation. I will probably remove it in a few weeks.

Story ideas:

Bonded
An AU Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic. Joey moves into a new village to start a new life. But something strange is going on. Why are all the citizens males? And what are they talking about with Bonding and Joining? And why is one Seto Kaiba desperately trying to get to know him?

Note: I came up with a puppyshipping fic for once, and I must say that I'm even quite intrigued by the entire concept. Truthfully, the idea was inspired by Wings of the Valkyria's stories, but I promise you that it will be something completely different. Might tackle this one after Overcoming Differences.

Golden Eyes
An AU Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic. There is one who has the power of the Gods, and he or she can be recognized by their golden eyes. Prince Atem never really understood his powers, but simply followed his father's orders in using them.

Note:I haven't actually written down anything for this idea yet, but much of the beginning and the setting is in my head. This story has the potential for lots of smut though, which I won't write. So if you're interested I'm willing to put this plot up for adoption. Contact me if you're interested.

Vanished
Another AU Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic. Yugi has disappeared and Joey is frantically trying to find him. His search eventually leads him to porn star Heba Otum. How are the two connected?

Note: This idea has been haunting me for a while now, with many scenes popping into my head at will. However, I feel that the only way to do this story justice is by adding considerable sexual contend. Even though I read and come up with this stuff, I'm still not comfortable in writing it. I either have to find my way around going into much detail, or someone might be interested enough to help me out or adopt this plot.

The Planet's Final Hope
A Final Fantasy 7 fanfic set in a AU. Cloud is AVALANCHE's best warrior and defeats Sephiroth, but is then captured and used as a specimen by Hojo. He's rescued 30 years later and needs to save the world once again.

Note: The general plotline has already been mostly planned, though there are still quite a few issues to work on. I'd love to do this as a colab.
