![]() Author has written 1 story for Halo, and Mass Effect. Alright, so this is my profile...er...hmm. So I've got one story up at the moment, and I'll hopefully be finishing that before moving onto another, If you've read it and have any questions please feel free to pm me, updates on the story will generally appear on the A/N at the bottom of the latest chapter, check back here every so often and I might have an update about any other fanfiction I have been forming and planning, but don't expect any to be published until I get at least a decent way into my current fanfic, Reclamation and Ascendancy ,a Halo and Mass Effect fusion that will hopefully be a little different. With regards to other fanfiction, I do have an idea for another Halo/ME crossover (not a fusion like Reclamation and Ascendancy), as well as a WH40k/ME crossover and a few vague ideas for a Harry Potter fanfic. They would all primarily be OC focused due to the plot of the fanfic with interaction with canon characters. The 40k/ME crossover would be a stereotypical '40k character ends up in ME universe due to warp shenigans', except with a difference in that the 40k character would end up on Omega alone several months before Shepard is resurrected, and would have to survive in the black pit of Omega before joining the Normandy team, with nothing but his wits, equipment he had on him at the time of his transportation and the reluctant help of a stranded Quarian shop owner. Oh, and he is a techpriest enginseer, for extra lulz. While I don't want to give to much away about the other more conventional halo/ME crossover, suffice to say it would be Elite focused with no Halo humans appearing. For some reason I find writing elites quite enjoyable. Any questions about R&A or anything else? PM me and I'll respond. UPDATE: As you may have noticed, I haven't updated it quite a while. There are two main reasons for this- 1) My declining interest in the Mass Effect and Halo (Halo especially). Quite simply my investment in the two franchises has dropped significantly over the last two years. This is especially notable in Halo, which was always the one I was more in to compared to Mass Effect. This is partly due to my increasing dissatisfaction with recent Halo works in the EU, most especially the works of Karen Traviss. That said, the issues I have are more systematic to the entire Halo universe and are not contained to any one author. My declining interest is further damaged by the fact that my Xbox no longer works, meaning I can't go back and play Halo (or Mass Effect) to try and regain interest. Furthermore I have a PS4 not an Xbox One, so no Halo 5 for me. 2) The fact that I simply haven't enjoyed trying to continue Reclamation and Ascendancy. This is mostly because most of the things in the story I like (that I think sets it apart from other stories) occur later in the story, and I don't enjoy the early parts of the fic. This is ultimately my fault for inadequate planning of the story-while I had lots of ideas for the direction of the fic, I failed to adequately plan the groundwork for me to move past at a reasonable pace, and exacerbated the problem by altering some details and stories while writing. If I were to do it again, I would definitely plan better and maybe consider skipping parts of the early years. In other words, the three problems were my own inexperience with writing, inadequate planning and a lack of interest in the franchises the fanfiction involves. Will I continue? Eh. Perhaps in a few months I'll come back during the holiday and revisit R&A, figuring out what I did wrong and if I can salvage it. I do still want to write the other two fanfictions I mentioned, but if my experience writing this one has taught me anything it is that I need to plan the hard details of the story much better and in greater depth, so we'll see. |
