Author has written 1 story for Avatar: Last Airbender. Update October 2011: As you might have guessed, I graduated this past spring and found myself with lots of free time. I mostly did not spend that time writing, but I did have at least something to share, both in Bleach and Avatar. Well, that was until my computer crashed last week and I lost everything. I wasn't too worried because I backed up my writing on my zip drive but now that has gone missing. I'm terribly frustrated not only because of my lost fics but also because that drive held my complete college writings, some photos and programs that I cannot get back again. I should have made another back-up, I know, but it still really sucks. It will be a long while until I am able to post another fanfic. Update May 2011: So I've put my Avatar fanfic on hold for the time being. I have a few weeks left of classes until I graduate (!!!!) and will be devoting my time to ensuring that I actually do graduate by not failing my last few classes. I had some extra credits that I could play with so I am currently taking a fiction writing class. I signed up hoping that it would help jump start my creative process for this fic I want to write but somewhere near the beginning of the term I somehow developed a slight obsession with Ichigo x Rukia from Bleach. I was a fan of that pairing before but for some reason this just hit me really hard and I couldn't let it go. I told myself that if I wrote a fic then all would be well and I can move on. So instead of my creative writing energy going toward Avatar, it went toward Bleach and I sadly have nothing to show for it yet. I ended up putting my Bleach fics on hold because school was beginning to suffer and I didn't feel like I could devote time to making them just right. I also didn't know what I wanted to have happen. ^_^' The idea of trying to get back into Avatar right now is too scary to think about. Between this strange Ichiruki obsession and trying to show even a little interest in school and then plans after graduation and trying to hold back the crazy excitement of finally being done with college... I just don't have it in me right now to have another fandom to concentrate on. I shouldn't even be concentrating on Bleach, I know that. First off, I must pass school! (*Bleach Rant Alert*) Second, Bleach has been kind of pissing me off lately. The manga is slowly getting better. I guess I mostly hate waiting a week to find out the next little bit of what happens. The anime is in the middle of another pointless filler-arch which will hold no character development or permanent plot twists. I realize it's buying time for the manga to get a head start. But it's also killing my interest in characters and story. Characters seem flat and boring-- stereotypes of themselves. Fight scenes are also boring and pointless since we know no one is going to die or anything before it picks up with the manga. Believe it or not, I don't enjoy Bleach for the battles. I like some of them but others I recognize as being there just to show a fight scene and show that 'Ooh, he's really strong'. Naw, I like the characters. I think they are fun and have interesting relationships and dynamics. And that is why I get annoyed when NOTHING happens between characters even after something big happens. Seriously, just let the characters have some time to express, in whatever way they should, how they were impacted by what they experienced. Then use that to continue the story. Fight scenes with flat characters are boring! Why should I care who wins when the characters have not developed since the 3rd season? I think Kibo has become too comfortable in Bleach's popularity. (*End of Bleach Rant*) I figure once I'm out of school and am able to relax then I will lose my drive to pursue anything creative. Why? Because that is how it works. No free time= desire to create. Free time= inspirational block. But even so, I plan on trying to finish something to submit in the months that follow graduation. I'm not giving up on my Avatar fic. I just want it to be good and I need to re-watch some episodes to get a better feel for it again. It's been a while. Anyway, thanks for listening! xoxo, Nine09 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Hello and welcome to my profile. I am currently working on a new fanfic centered on the relationships between Aang, Katara and Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I had hoped to finish it during winter break, but of course once I have some actual free time my inspiration dies on me. Well, classes have started again and my inspiration is slowly returning. I have some of the fic written, but I have also realized that this is a much larger undertaking than I originally thought. I want to have the characters stay in-character while not being cliche and, having read my share of fanfics, I realize that isn't easy. I want this to be good and so I'm not going to try to rush it. At the same time, I feel a sense of urgency to finish it. This is probably a good thing. I'll probably put any updates on this profile for anyone who cares. Thank you, everyone who left me a comment and/or added me as a favorite. Knowing people are interested really helps with the motivation! xoxo, Nine09 |
