Author has written 22 stories for NCIS, Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
So... here I am. I never thought I'd be a fanfic writer, but I love the community and I was mentally writing it anyway. I mainly write NCIS because I'm best at it. Lately I am focusing more time on Supernatural as well. I'm a teenage girl who lives in the US. I don't feel the need to be more personal than that. Please message me, if I had a life I wouldn't be writing fanfiction. I'm really excited about writing. I am at a loss for words so hopefully I'll update this profile with more later. I love angst, the romantic kind in particular but also the friendship and family flavors, but I am a happy ending junkie. There is nothing I love more to read than a well-written angsty romance of my OTP with a happy ending. Polyamory in fanfiction is completely fine. I'm also fairly relaxed about non-human incest. (I'm thinking specifically here of SPN angels.) As a point of principle, I will NEVER specifically warn that a story is slash or femslash. Unless there is narrative reason not to, which has not yet happened to me, I always list my pairings in the summary. If you're too stupid to figure out if that makes it slash or not, it's definitely not my problem. Furthermore, I am very dedicated to treating slash, femslash, and het ships equally. JUST A NOTE: I have a certain set of "standard elements" I am filling in for my stories. Basically this is background information for my stories that you can generally assume to be true unless stated otherwise within the story. Judgment Day Denial: Naturally, as a Jibbs writer, this is a very important part of many of my stories. My typical answer is that Jenny successfully completed her 1999 mission in Paris and killed Svetlana. I like this explanation because it leaves most of the non-JD canon intact which limits the number of other plot points I have to explain away. When Jenny survives the shoot-out or is found before it happens there is still the issue of Tony and Ziva feeling guilt over what might have happened, which in a post-JD story with any kind of team focus needs to be addressed. Having Svetlana die in 1999 avoids this twist which can make a great story but can also, in some situations, be inconvenient. The only problem occurs if one theorizes that Jenny's failure in Paris in 1999 and Jenny leaving Gibbs in Paris in 1999 are connected. Character Religious Beliefs: These are not intended to offend or serve as generalizations, they are merely my observations and inferences regarding individual characters. Having been an atheist my entire life I'm not as well acquainted with religion as I might be so please alert me of any errors. Abby: Abby clearly has a Catholic background and is still Catholic but she reconciles that with her more liberal beliefs. I kinda see her as one of those "God is true but some of the traditions/rules the church has might not be quite right because it's man's interpretation" types. She is definitely very religious and spiritual. McGee: McGee has a Christian, possibly Catholic background. I see him as the kind of guy who goes to church and believes in God but is a little more casual about his religion while remaining confident in it. Ziva: Obviously Ziva is Jewish. It appears to me that she is fairly religious but cannot always afford to be, for example it's hard to keep kosher when you're on super intense missions. I think she's also very spiritual and likes to follow the specifics of her religion when possible. Tony: Tony, like McGee, probably has a Christian background, and I can't quite recall but there may have been hints that he grew up Catholic. I don't think Tony is as religious as some of the others now, as he has become a little jaded, a theme that I will discuss more with Gibbs. I do think Tony has some belief but that it is not a strong part of his life, at least compared to other people. Kate: Obviously Catholic and still Catholic, very religious and yet tolerant and looser on some things, such as not being a virgin. Actually all the characters are tolerant of other religions. Vance: I know we get no information on Vance, but I think I see him as at least going to church and saying grace, if only for his family. I'm also fairly certain he's protestant. Gibbs: Gibbs likely had some sort of Christian influence in his childhood, living in a small town, but I highly doubt he's very religious now. I don't consider him an outright atheist I just think he's far too jaded to have faith in anything. Never believe what you're told, double check. Jenny: I don't see Jasper Shepard as the kind of guy who would raise his daughter with a lot of religion. I also think Jenny just hasn't considered it. I don't call her agnostic or atheist because I really don't think she's decided. Ducky: Ducky is clearly wise about religions and the conflicts they can cause. He almost certainly had some sort of Christianity in his past and he's been exposed to a lot of religions in his lifetime. I tend to consider Ducky an agnostic theist or a deist, something along those lines. I do think he believes in a higher power, possibly with preference for a specific one, but that he thinks we can't really know for sure. Certainly some ambiguity, with Ducky, but he does seem to believe in something. Palmer: Palmer likely also had a Christian childhood and I see him more as a Protestant. I think he probably goes to church and will be married in one, just an average believer. As you can see, I, an atheist, have suggested that most of the characters are in fact religious. I try to judge based on the way I see the characters. Few things annoy me more than authors who just assign all the characters the author's religion without thinking about it. Using personal beliefs and traditions as a reference is fine, and a good practice. NOTES: I am a feminist. I believe in global warming. I believe in evolution. I am a liberal. I am an atheist. I believe in gay rights. I am pro-choice. I support peace but I know that war is not always avoidable. I try to keep an open mind. I may be argumentative. I try to value ALL life, especially animals (including humans). I am a semi-vegetarian. I am an environmentalist. (A good government is useless if there is no planet.) Now that that is out of the way, hopefully it will help avoid awkward situations later. I will not be angry with someone just for disagreeing with me, but closed-mindedness bothers me. Please be respectful. Rant: I do not believe in withholding updates to get reviews. Begging for reviews is bad form but I am okay with it. But the author should not withhold chapters. We fanfic writers, unfortunately, are volunteers. We post out stuff because we want to. Our readers do not agree to pay us for it, technically they owe us nothing. As readers, however, we should remember that it is good form to leave reviews sometimes (or every time if you are an over-acheiver). Everybody watch NCIS Tuesdays at 8pm EST on CBS! (TheBreakfastGenie=total addict). So, I played Webkinz a lot when I was ten and eleven, kinda got caught up in the fad. Normally I don't go with the crowd but elementary school fads are so fun. Anyway, being the morbid yet cheerful person that I am I have some great ideas on a dark version of all the Webkinz World stuff... so I'm working on a fanfic, working title "The Dark Secrets of Kinzville," but it's gonna be a while before it can be posted. I may visit several fandoms here, but I don't write for many. I hate it when fanfics get too out of character so I only write if I feel like I know the characters really well. Or, something like Webkinz, where traits aren't really established. Anyway, I love fiction so I enjoy talking about a lot of things. My favorite shows right now are Leverage, NCIS, and Supernatural and I hope to be writing for all of them by the summer. It should be noted that I am not actually caught up with Supernatural at this point in time. I watch Grey's Anatomy but currently have no plans to write any fanfiction for it. Other shows I enjoy but don't keep up with are Burn Notice, White Collar, and Castle. I've seen most but not all of House. "When something seems too good to be true, it's best to shoot it just in case." Fiona Glenanne, Burn Notice "When life gives you lemons, wing 'em right back and add some lemons of your own." Calvin, Calvin and Hobbes "This isn't Wall Street, this is Hell. We have a little something called integrity!" --Crowley, Supernatural "I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition." --Castiel, Supernatural A good friend will bail you out if jail, but a BEST friend will pop back up and say "I've finished the tunnel! We're free!" "Sometimes you have to look at the reality in front of you... and accept it." Jenny Shepard, not that Jen did a great job accepting it, and naturally Abby completely missed the point and McGee probably wishes she had never said it, and I'd probably do an even worse job accepting it than Jenny, but hey, it's a nice line. A good friend will bail you out of jail, but a partner in crime will tell you it's a learning experience and it serves you right for getting caught. "Where I'm from, people believe all sorts of things that aren't true. They call it history. A man's called a traitor, or liberator, a rich man's a thief, or philanthropist. Is one a crusader, or ruthless invader? It's all in which label, is able to persist. There are precious few at ease with moral ambiguities, so we act as though they don't exist." The Wizard, "Wondeful," Wicked the Musical When people ask me if I've seen Twilight, I say, "Yeah, several times!" They ask if I've READ it, and I say, "You know, I've heard there's a book but I didn't think they were connected. I should look into it, I LOVE Twilight!" When they say they love it too, I start talking about it. "I mean, the way Kate dies at the end? TOTALLY shocking. And so sad! Getting killed mid-sentence like that... And the look on Tony's face-" When they cut me off and ask what Twilight I'm talking about, I say "The NCIS season two finale of course! What Twilight are YOU talking about? Oh, that series with sparkly vampires, right? You know, Tony has a fear of vampires..." Copy and paste this into your profile if your Twilight came out in 2005! I love the idea of song-fic so if anyone wants to discuss it with me and help me out, or give me recommendations to read, pleeeeeeease do. I have a million half-baked NCIS fanfics in my computer. I write very erratically (I'm convinced my muse is ADHD) so some of them may never see the light. Sadly, fanfiction is not like cookies, it doesn't taste better before it's done. I have approximately five WIPs for Supernatural, all of which contain destiel. I am, however, for the time being, acting rationally and focusing my attention on my high school AU, Written in the Stars. Je parle francais. Kind of. I'm still learning. But I'm good at understanding it. Which is useful in Paris-themed Jibbs fics. Yes, I do ship! NCIS My OTP: Jibbs Other ships I love: McAbby, Kabby Ships I'm on the fence about: Zabby, Tiva Crack ships I enjoy: McNozzo, Gibbs/Fornell Ships I hate: Jony, Tibbs, Gabby, Kari Leverage My OTP(s): Parker/Hardison, Nate/Sophie Other ships I love: Peggy/Hurley Ships I'm on the fence about: Eliot/Tara Crack ships I enjoy: Eliot/Parker/Hardison OT3, Nate/Sterling Ships I hate: Eliot/Parker Supernatural My OTP: DESTIEL Other ships I love: Sam/Jess, Sabriel, Chuck/Becky, Bobby/Jody Mills, Bobby/Karen Ships I'm on the fence about: Castiel/Balthazar, Bobby/Ellen, Bobby/ Dr. Ellie Visiyak, Becky/Garth Crack ships I enjoy: Crowley/Bobby, Crowley/anyone, Sammifer, Michael/Lucifer, Crowley/Meg Ships I hate: Wincest, Sastiel, Dean/Lisa, Megstiel, ANY pairing for Dean or Cas that is not Destiel House, MD My OTP: Seasons 1-7: Huddy/Chilson (Cuddy/House/Wilson) OT3 Season 8: Hilson Other ships I love: Chase/Cameron, Wilson/Amber Ships I'm on the fence about: House/Stacy, Foreman/Thirteen, Chase/Thirteen, Chase/Park Crack ships I enjoy: House/Chase, House/anyone Ships I hate: House/Cameron (more strongly dislike) Ships like Kari, sexual attraction =/= emotional attachment or the possibility of a functioning relationship. Judgment Day People who are unaccepting of people they disagree with. The American political system of two huge parties and tons of rivalry. It's not productive. Discrimination of ANY kind. Violence and war when, especially when avoidable. These are all things I hate, but there are also two things I hate more than anything on the planet: Olives and MRIs. In memory of Christi Thomas, who died of a childhood cancer on September 19th, 2006. Open Letters to the Writers of my Favorite Shows: Dear NCIS Writers, Please stop dedicating the last several weeks of a season to an awesome storyline culminating in a great cliffhanger only to wrap it up in one freaking episode in the fall. Sincerely, TBG Dear Supernatural Writers, Dean and Cas need to kiss yesterday. Make it happen. If destiel isn't canon at the end of the show I WILL find you, and I will NOT be alone. Also stop fucking with my Cas baby, and put him in every episode he's perfect. Very Sincerely, TBG Dear Leverage Writers, I got nothing to ask for, you guys are perfect. A season six would've been nice though. Love, TBG Does anyone else love NCIS but hate NCIS: LA? I mean it's OK but it can't measure up to the original show AT ALL. I have no idea where this avatar is from. I found it on Google. I'm not happy about being unoriginal but I don't feel like learning to make my own. I promise that I AM working on continuing "The Director." I wasn't planning to originally, but the idea was there, and now everyone expects me to, so I intend to. However I'm not positive how I want to do it yet and I really want it to be good so it's going to take time. Especially since I have a lot of other projects going on. |
