I found this site originally when I found fanfics for my favorite show from years ago: Scarecrow and Mrs. King. When I read most of those, I started wondering if there was anything for my new favorite show, Castle. And was there ever!

So one weekend, I was at my in-laws' house with no internet, got a little idea in my head, and I decided to try writing my own fanfic for Castle. The result was "A Gummy Twist of Fate". I still like that one.

That was years ago. I've written quite a few stories since then; some short one-shots, and some uber-long stories. My writing slowed down a LOT in the last year, but I haven't truly abandoned anything; I do still intend to finish or add to my in-progress stories at some point. But please know that it generally takes hours to write and edit even one chapter. So life does tend to get in the way and though I have the best of intentions, I just can no longer spend the same amount of time writing that I did in the past.

I love to read reviews of my stories, and I can appreciate even the negative reviews, if they have a purpose. Thus, if you're going to review, I'd love it if you make it constructive. That helps me become a better writer. Tell me what you like, and tell me what you might not like, and please tell me why. That's what a review is for. And I'm not one of those authors that believes that a review is strictly for praise; if that was the case, then the 'review' button would be renamed to the 'praise' button.

Otherwise, send me a PM. And if you hate my story, that's fine; I accept that my stories aren't everyone's cup of tea, and I won't be upset if you don't read it because of that. For example, I don't personally like to read the ones where someone dies. Personal preference. But I also won't leave a negative review for it; I just won't read it anymore. Simple. So if there's something I can fix or tweak or change, then by all means, let me know! I've gone in different directions and added/deleted scenes and ideas because people have said they'd like to see or not see certain things. (And of course, I hate typos, but sometimes they sneak through and I like to fix them.) That's constructive, and it helps.

Also, this is a site for amateur authors. Because we're amateurs, we need feedback; that's how we get better! And if we get better, then we provide more and better fanfics for the readers. And most of us LOVE feedback; it's motivation. So if you're getting some enjoyment from reading the stories by me or other authors, please thank that author or give something back by leaving reviews! It doesn't have to be eloquent or long; a simple 'I loved the XYZ' or 'My favorite line was ABC' is still much appreciated! As an author for more than a couple of years now, I can say that at least from my point of view, reviews are SO important; they provide the confirmation that people are reading your story, the motivation to continue to write the story, and the feedback to the author to make the story better. If I get very few comments on a chapter, I know that I will second-guess myself about the quality of the story, and if I should continue writing it. I don't want to waste my time, but I will gladly take the time if I know the story is providing enjoyment for the readers. Some of my longer fics started out as only being one or two-shots. They only became longer because of positive reader response, so your response DOES matter.

Also, the thing that I don't understand are those readers who will choose to follow a story (story alert it) but will never give the reader any feedback on the story, not even once. I often spend literally hours writing a chapter (not an exaggeration). After that, it's almost demotivating to receive huge numbers of new story alert notifications after publishing one of my chapters, without any corresponding feedback from that reader. Really, if a story is good enough that you want to read it and be notified when there are new chapters, then it should be good enough to take a few minutes to tell the author WHY you want to read more of it. For one recent chapter of one of my stories, I got more story alert notifications with absolutely no feedback from those readers than I got total reviews for the chapter. And honestly, if you can't muster up anything good to say about the story, then you probably shouldn't be following it in the first place.

To those readers who do review, even once or twice per story, THANK YOU! I wish there were more of you. And the unregistered readers who still leave guest reviews? You guys are awesome too, because you even review without the benefit of getting story alerts.
